Arrival Story:
I adopted August from the humane society. We had a cat my entire life and she passed away and I really wanted a cat in the house. A catless house just isn't home. It took my Mom a while to heal and get over her loss for Five before she could accept a new cat into our home. We went to the shelter and were looking at the cats, I knew I wanted a kitten because I had never had one before considering Five had been born before me. I saw August and was instantly drawn to her. I had never seen a tortoise shell colored cat before. She was ten weeks old. When I held her she had the best disposition and was so relaxed and easy going. My Mom said that she was my birthday present, since we got her in August (when my b-day is) I decided to name her that. Her original name had been Pam. : P An awful name for a cat if you ask me.

Bio:
August has been a part of my family for ten years now. She is very demanding and loves to cuddle. She doesn't like strangers but instead of running away from them she'll hold her ground and hiss and growl and tell people that it's her house so they can move if they don't like it. August is kind of the "mom" of the other cats. She always makes sure they are groomed and their ears are cleaned out.
