Arrival Story: When my first kitty Preston died, my friend Brenna (who has five cats) "loaned" us her Christopher Marlowe on a temporary basis, since he was not coping with a loud new roommate and my husband and I were not coping well with having no kitty around. We became very attached to Kit, who then became "Kitty Marlowe" and finally just "Marlowe" because we liked the sound of it. I think that was Brenna's plan all along, clever friend that she is, and so we adopted Marlowe.

Bio: Marlowe is a "shoulder cat." This means that he likes to be carried like a baby so he can look over your shoulder. We occasionally call him "the baby walrus" because he has super sleek fur and what appears to be a layer of blubber under said fur. He likes to eat. A lot. He was pretty timid when we first got him, and is still shy around strangers, but is becoming a lap cat as time goes on.
