Arrival Story:
I came to live with my mom, dad, and brother in February 2007. I really love my family! Getting here was kind of tough though... You see, I must have been out and exploring one day in the snow...on the freeway...(mom faints while typing just thinking about this possibility) when I was plowed by a snow plow! YEEOOOOWCH! Anyway, some person driving by noticed cute little me imbedded in the snow bank and called Adams County Animal Control. AC thought I was in kitty heaven already, but when hey arrived to extract me, I started PURRING! Whew! Now, since I was frozen and injured, my hero Joan from animal control called the no-kill shelter where my mom worked and explained that I needed medical help. She knew that she would have to eu****ize me if I stayed there. Well, THANK GOODNESS the shelter had room for me! I was rushed into their vet, and after TLC and surgery to remove my tail which was too badly injured to save, I emerged as good as new! My mom fell in love with me...Of course! I love dogs, so she invited me to stay at her house while I recovered. You see, my brother Calvin also lost his tail in an accident during the hurricaine, and mom thought that Calvin would be a good example for me. Well.....we all got along so well, and nobody wanted to say goodbye. So I was adopted! The shelter named me Snowbank, which was kind of a bad daily reminder for me (mom says it is like being named Divorce, or Car Accident) so I found a way to tell my dad that my name should be Ralph. Mom has a really cool friend named Ralph, so she agreed right away. I love my home and I am so loved by all of my family members! Everyone who meets me notices how smart I am. Being smart is good...and bad. I get into an awful lot of trouble, you see, and my mom and dad are always finding that I have outsmarted them. They had to hide all of the scissors in the house. And the matches, and rocks. I love rocks! I also love to drag hiking boots and clock radios all over the house. The heavier, the better, I say. I love playing with Calvin's toys and chewing on his bones! Needless to say, I have had a lot of dental work. My mom and dad don't mind at all, they just want me to be safe!

Oh boy Oh Boy Oh Boy...we have a GIRL KITTY!!!!! And she is really pretty. I can't believe it. After all of these years of practicing my moves on the stuffed animal kitty mom has in the living room, my purrayers have been answered.

Peggy Ann came home a week ago. I was not allowed to do more than sing to her until yesterday. And today we looked into each others eyes for the first time. She totally digs me. I know it. That growling just means she is moved beyond words in my presence. And the look which everybody reads as "offended beyond measure"? Well, that's just her "Come Hither" look. Trust me...I know what I'm talking about!

I would stay here and tell you more, but Mom says I "Abused my privileges" again in the office. She must be talking about the adjustments I made to her keyboard. Or maybe the email I sent to her contact list. Anyway, I have to go. More about my new love interest later ;o)

Q-Tip of the day...

I know I am always starting off with the same thing, but I just have so much fun being me that it is always happening. You guessed it....

I am in trouble AGAIN:

I snapped the tops off of all of Mommy's Q-tips last night. I can't believe I never noticed them before. What fun! And the best part is that she can't put toothpaste on them, so I'm in luck!

I am so happy that it is getting cooler these days, and I have been extra snuggly with Mommy and Daddy. They keep giving each other those goofy looks and saying how happy they are tht I am here with them. As goofy as they are, I am happy too.

I should say to all of you kitties out there that Q-tips are really quite fun, but do not swallow them, and KEEP THEM AWAY FROM YOUR EARS!!! I wouldn't want to be responsible for any of you having extra vet visits =o)

So I was minding my own business this morning like I usually do, and I went to start my morning chew on the door stopper thingy (you know, the one that makes a nice loud "twannnnggggg" sound when you grab it and then let go?) like I do every morning at 4:15, and as soon as I grabbed it with my teeth...YUCK!!!!

Mom put toothpaste on everything.

This is unacceptable. I hate the taste of toothpaste! Especially the natural stuff she uses. She justifies this unthinkable act by explaining that my chewing is not good for me, my teeth, or her budget, but I think she is way out of line.

There is toothpaste on:

the curtain pulls

the door stoopper-thingys-that-go-twang

the doorknob to their bedroom (I like to shake it while they sleep),

the refrigerator base grille (I like to remove that too),

The handles for the sink cabinet,

...and everything else I like to chew on.

That will be pretty in a few hours when all of our fur and hair starts to stick. That will teach her. But it is still yucky and I am going to have to find something new to chew on now.

Fine.....

I'll go hide their toothbrushes.
