Arrival Story:
When I got my own appartment (at last!) a friend who knew I always wanted a cat and planned on getting one as soon as I was settled in said she had a surprise and that in order to be prepared I should get a litterbox. I was told it was a calico, but when my friend arrived with a beautifull 7 w/o kitten my Sheila turned out to be a tortie. I had never seen a tortie before and fell in love immediatly ;-D

Sheila most definetly was a tortie with tortitude! She did not like a lot of people, my family she merely tolerated but she loved me for sure. Never was far away from me, and loved to crawl on my lap or next to me in bed. I hear a lot of cats are peeved at owners when they return from vacation, but Sheila always was the first to greet me back and wanted to hear all about it. When she turned 10 she got several symptons of which I did not recognize the severity and regretfully died of kidneyfailure a few months later. I did take her to a vet, but by then it turned out to be to late *cry* She was a great mommy to Jamie. At first I was scared she would not accept him. Growled like crazy at him but after a while she kinda adopted him. Where ever Sheila was, there was Jamie to. She loved to crawl underneath the blankets and cuddle right up to me. Gave me quite a scare once by dissapearing once. I cried all night because I had not been able to find her. turned out she went to visit a neighbour cat and the neighbour didn't notice her when he left his house. Next morning 6:30 AM I got a call "I think your cat is here" LOL!
