Arrival Story: I had been searching on the internet (petfinder.com) for months to find the perfect pet. I saw Margo's sweet little face and fell in love with her. Margo is very special becaus she is a tripod! She only has 3 legs. Someone called the humane society to report an injured cat. She had been hit by a car, and her back leg was severely broken and her paw severely infected from dragging it on the ground. Her tail was also broken in several places. To save her life, they had to amputate her leg up to the hip. She recovered for 3 months in a foster home. She still had trouble using the litter box, and had 'phantom pain' where the leg used to be. But I went to see her the day after I saw her picture, and I fell in love with her. She was SO sweet!! So I took her home that evening. She bonded with me immediately and spent her first night in her new home purring loudly next to my head on the bed.
Bio: Margo gets along like any cat would. She gets the 'Zoomies' once a day, plays with all of her toys, and has become much friendlier towards other people. Now when someone knocks on the door, she runs to greet whomever it is and expects them to pet her and love on her. Since she has been with me, there has been only one person she didn't like. She loves children, especially toddlers. She is So tolerant with them. They can poke, pull, etc. and she doesn't get upset. Usually she tries to distract them by licking their fingers. I have never owned such a sweet cat. She wants a lot of attention, and I am able to give that to her. Well, I guess I have spoiled her actually :) But isn't that what a pet is for?????

Hello Friends! Thought I would let you know what is going on with my eyes. I have had surgery in both eyes now, and, unfortunately, it has not helped at all.
I am not able to read books, magazines, or handwritten things. Basically anything with a font size smaller than 14. Using the computer makes my eyes tire very quickly, so I am not spending much time online.
I had a long conference with my primary doctor and we have come to the conclusion that keeping my blood sugar levels stable for more than a few days is impossible, and we have run out of options.
It is a cycle of pain, lack of sleep due to pain, more pain from lack of sleep, etc. I can have great, normal blood sugar readings for a few days. Then if I start having more pain than usual, my blood sugar goes up, and WILL NOT come down for a few days. That means readings over 300 sometimes, which is not good at all. I do not qualify for the pump. I have tried every drug and combination out there. Nothing is breaking the cycle.
Unfortunately, uncontrolled blood sugar is NOT good for my eyes - or any of my major organs. Things will continue to get worse unless somehow, God intervenes and helps me control the pain/sleep cycle.
She also told me that I cannot take any more insulin than I am already taking.....and that it is impossible for me to loose a lot of weight with the amount of insulin I take.
So I am not in a good place right now. It was devastating for me to hear this. I MISS emailing my friends. I MISS Catster terribly!
IF my eyes stay stable for 3 months, I can get new lenses, which will help considerably. Until then..........with the up and down of my blood sugar my vision changes all the time and it drives me crazy.
I am so thankful for my relationship with Jesus..........without Him in my life I would have no hope at all.
I really appreciate your prayers and friendship and I hope that you understand and can accept my limitations at this point! I am thankful that I can still drive :)
