Arrival Story:
Hermes was one of three males in a litter born to the barn cat that came with the property my mom bought. We kept mama and all four of her babies for pets and to help keep the critters away. We had them all neutered and spayed.

Hermes is a 3 year old neutered male. He is a domestic shorthair, white with bright orange tabby splotches and beautiful pale green eyes. He is a big, goofy cat that likes having his belly rubbed and sleeping the day away. He's not a very good hunter, but he is very pretty and always good for laugh, like when he plops down in the gravel to give himself a back scratch. He is very friendly, likes to rub against your leg and be petted, but doesn't like to be picked up. Hermes has been an outside cat almost all of his life. Although his personality seems suited for indoor life as well, I am not sure if he will use a litter box. In Greek Mythology Hermes was the patron of travellers, liars, thieves, shepherds and cowherds, commerce, and was a bit of a jokester. I think he's used to his name, but you could rename him as you like. He is neutered, shots are up to date, and he has recieved Revolution every month. He has recieved regular vet checks. He gets along with other cats once they have had a chance to get used to each other. He also gets along with dogs, in fact, plays with our dogs in slow games of chase. He has never bothered our chickens, roosters, or guinea hens. His littermate Artemis and his adopted brother Orpheus are also up for adoption. It would be really nice if any combination of them could be adopted together. They spend a lot of time together, grooming each other and sleeping together. Although, I think each of them would do OK alone as well. We are rehoming this funny guy because my mom is getting divorced and moving away. She can't take them where she is going and my stepdad won't care for them properly.
