A Cat in a Dog's World

What a difference a year makes

Boy, I can't believe Mom hasn't had time for my diary. My last entry was in January. Those two Bostonians take up all Mom's time.

Things have really changed this year. Mom filed for divorce in January and is still not divorced but at least Dad is out of the house now. I was Dad's cat before he married Mom but he left me behind. But that's okay because Mom really loves me. She said I'd always have a home with her. I guess Dad just didn't want to deal with a diabetic cat that has medical bills and has to have 2 shots a day.

As soon as Dad was out of the house Mom turned his TV room into my very own room. I was over the moon. It has windows on the whole wall overlooking the front yard and street so I can keep an eye on everything. Mom feeds the squirrels and birds outside the window, so I have plenty to watch. I'm getting on in years so Mom gave me a table to put my bed on and stretch out and high enough to be away from nosy dogs. It has french doors on the room to keep me secluded when the dogs are in the front room. I love it that the dogs can see me through the door windows but can't come in. I try not to gloat. They don't have their own room. Mom must love me bunches.

I'm controlling my diabetes pretty well. I really hate when Mom has to take me in to get tested. I hate traveling. As soon as I see the cat carrier come upstairs I know what time is and I take off.

So life is good. I'm hanging in there.

Wow! How can you're dad say he loves you if he left you behind? Good thing you have such a nice Momma, Chewey!

I hate traveling too. I am such trouble on the road. I cry and I bite. Anything to get me home -the sooner the better!

Chewtoy, how do I convince my Momma to put up glass doors in my room. It is almost all mine except I share it with a computer. The dogs come in and bother me all the time. I would rather have a cool french door too.
