Only Blue Eyes In Our House

My friends, last time Iwrote we were a family of three critters having just lost our dog brother Raffles. Now sadly, we are a family of two. my dog sister Callie's problem got worse and Mom had to send her to the Rainbow Bridge the middle of August. We lost both of them in a span of 4 months. Now it's just my dog sister Maleka and me. When Mom and Dad got married 8 years ago we formed a type of Brady Bunch family. It was Dad and his two blue-eyed critters and Mom and her two brown-eyed critters. Now everyone in the house, Mom and Dad included have blue eyes.

Mom has been so sad the last couple of months. Maleka and I are really trying to cheer her up. Maleka takes Mom for walks every day and I have put my aloofness on the back burner and have tried to be more doglike. I've even sat in her lap a couple of times, which is rare for me. AND I licked her hand the other night. I have never done that before and I sleep on the foot of the bed right where Callie slept every night since I've known her. It's raining today and Maleka is sleeping a foot away from Mom - very unusal as Maleka hardly ever stays in the house for very long. She's a Husky and gets too warm to stay inside.

Callie and Raffles are together and very happy at the Bridge. We see two stars over the house now and know that must be them watching over us. They've said in their diaries that it's time for Mom to find a new furever friend, so we are waiting for the right little furface to come to us.

Well all this writing has plumb tuckered me out. I will need to go take a catnap. Later my friends.
