Arrival Story:
jinxy was living on the porch of an abandoned house, in a pile of old wood and rusty nails. she had two kitties with her. i fed them for awhile, and sat out in a thunderstorm trying to lure them out from under the house. i briefly had a hold of one (whose eyes were all crusty), but it got back under the house. a few days later, the wood pile was disturbed, and i could only find jinx. i tried to lure her out with food and catch her, but she stayed back until i was safely in the house. i didn't want her to get hurt trying to get away from me, so i kept my distance. one day i put out food for her and it sat there, with her nowhere to be found. i was hoping someone had taken her in. a few weeks later (mid august, 2002), i saw her under another house, sitting there, crying. she still didn't want me to come near, but finally she turned around, i reached under the stairs and scooped her up. she was too tired, scared, and hungry to fight back. i took her home and fed her and she soon became the dominant, arrogant little baby that she is today :) she is so loved and spoiled, and i can't imagine life without her.
