Carpet: My New Best Friend

We've moved! At least that's what Mummy called it when she threw me and Jasper into boxes and put us in the car. I haven't been in one of those for a long time, so it was kind of scary.

I still didn't cry as much as Jasper, though.

So I hid under the sofa for a while, but the place is really nice. It's got big windowsills and lots of carpet to stretch out on, and really good air conditioning, which helps when you have a lovely fur coat. Mummy likes to lie on the carpet and scratch my tummy. I'm a pretty happy cat.

Update On Wonderful Me

It turned out that the "girl" was a special kind of tiny cat named Kara, so for about two weeks I had a girlfriend, even though Mummy said she was too young to date. Kara went away to Stephen's house, but sometimes Mummy puts the phone to my ear so I can hear her say hello.

That's probably the most exciting thing that's happened to me since my last diary entry, other than my winter coat coming in. My brother Jasper is a shorthair and only gets a little shaggy, but I get what Mummy calls "floof" and "splendid Victorian sidewhiskers." She keeps trying to get me to wear a red jester's collar for Christmas pictures. I'll give HER a sidewhisker!

I Thought *I* Was the Little One!

Yesterday Mummy and her friend Stephen came home with a cage. Inside was some kind of weird creature, like a cat, only smaller. Mummy says it's a "girl." Not sure what that is. When they let it out it charged straight at me and tried to bat me with its legs! I ran away. Maybe it's some sort of big furry grasshopper?

Mummy says we're fostering a kitten now. Maybe Mr. Foster will get here soon before the grasshopper can eat me.
