Arrival Story: On December 16, 1997 a colleague of mine called me to ask if I could help find a home for a stray who she was feeding, but could not bring indoors because her son was severely allergic. It was freezing cold out, so I could not say no. When I saw her, I melted. She was very thin and frail, but SO friendly. She was so beautiful that I could not believe she didn't have a home, but my friend had put flyers all over the neighbourhood to no avail.
She was immediately named Marble after a cat I had when I lived in the States who had the same colouring and attitude. We had to put our cats' food on a table so our dog wouldn't eat it, and she was too weak to jump up when we first brought her home. We decided to isolate her in our large bathroom until we could get her to our vet for an exam and shots, and so we could give her extra-special food (our other guys were a bit overweight at the time).
I knew that first night that she was not going to be re-homed.

Bio: Marble is a classic calico - friendly, talkative, boisterous, active and oh, don't forget gorgeous. She wants to be the centre of attention, and is buddies with our Hobbes (Little Ginger Dude). They go outside and hunt unsuspecting prey together and keep the neighbourhood cats out of our garden. They are buddies, but they both want to be the centre of attention.
Marble's fur is very fine. She feels like silk when you pet her, which she loves. Her fur will not easily come off anything. It is so fine it actually sticks to my fingers when I fuss her. She is quite a personality - the only cat who will immediately greet people who come to our house. A very special cat - but they all are!
