Safety 1st!

Mom was near the kitchen the other day and heard:

click, click, click.....click, click, click

She recognized that sound right away and when she walked into the kitchen I was sitting next to the stove on the counter. One of the burners on our gas stove was "ignited". The knobs are on the front of the stove.

It was an accident and I think I know how I did it. I was walking across the stove and my back leg slipped and I somehow managed to push the knob in and turn it a little.

Well, this made Mom buy some stove knob covers made by Safety 1st for children. Boy, she was glad it happened while she was home and I was too because none of us would have known how to turn it off.

Mom knew it wasn't Huey because he was out walking with Dad and he doesn't counter-surf, or stove-surf! I was the only one around at the time.

Mom has had cats all her adult life and has never had this happen, but it was a wake-up call for sure!

Love,
Melody

Ms. Melody that sure is a wake up call! So glad your Mom was home at the time. Because we both counter-surf, Mommy ordered them today for our stove too. Better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the safety tip!

Luv,
Miss Zoey

Thanks, Zoey! Mom and Dad both feel better now since a bunch of us counter-surf regularly.

Just don't let Zacky see your Mommy installing them because he might start spinning them around. MOL!

By the way, we tried to post in your diary about your tub toys and got Error 3! Geesh.

Love, Melody

We better get some of those too because this is the first time we've had a gas stove, and Violet and I have been seen walking across the stove! Glad there were no accidents!

Melody, what might I start spinning around? I am going to have to watch my Mommy closely after she gets the next Amazon box delivered. MOL!

Maybe Error 3 is better than Error 4. We are moving down. Maybe someday Error 0 = no errors!

Love,
Zacky

Yeah, Samoa, not a bad idea after what happened. Have to get used to the "bubble" covers over the knobs which your mommy can still access--but better safe than sorry.

Oh no, Zacky, have you been eavesdropping again? Your mommy will have to teach you "no, hot!" like they do with those children...MOL!

Love, Mel

Good thing there is clicking sound and that your mom was home.
I've been jumping up on the counters, although our burners are electric, mom may get that safety stuff just to be 100% safe!

Good catch by Mom!! How scary..glad she was home.

I am always on the counter and Mom puts stuff on the back burner near the wall to keep it away from me. It could happen to us too.

Mom is going to get those sfety knob covers for us now.
