Arrival Story: Some very nice people who run a rescue took in my pregnant cat mom. She had me and Natasha a dilute calico kitty. Then the rescue group cared for all of us for six months. One day, my dad decided that mom should get a cat. She was always looking at pictures of kittens on the web and stuff, so he figured if she'd ooh and aah at unknown kittens all the time, she might as well have her own. Mom was kind of nervous about having her own cat. It's a lot of responsibility. Dad dragged her to a Petco where they were having an adoption event anyway. I was the first kitten that dad petted. Mom petted Natasha instead. But dad insisted I was the bestest cat there, and mom had to agree: I was cute, but shy, and something about the shyness appealed to both of them. Mom truly fell in love when the rescue lady dropped me off, and I got over my initial bout of shyness: I was mommy's shadow for the next couple of weeks. But I still love dad's touch the best, and save my loudest purring for him.
Bio: Mom says I'm a big cat now. I don't really believe her and I'm always worrying that I'll get trampled by someone, or worse. I still act all shy around people at first, but they generally say that I'm cute and try to pet me, and I love that kind of attention.
I still fear a few people: the super in our building, mom's dad, and dad's friends' daughters (they're too loud, and the little one pets me too roughly). But all and all I am a lovebug.
