I really wanted a kitty and asked for one all the time. I would go to pet stores with my grandma and want to take home a kitten with me. One day when I came home from kindergarten, grandma said to be careful when I opened my bedroom door. I opened the door and saw the kitten. I was surprised and happy. Grandma got my kitten from the SPCA. Her mama cat had too many kittens for the owner to keep so the kittens were taken to the shelter for adoption.
I named the kitten after me and my best friend who is also my cousin. My kitten can sure get into big trouble, but she makes us laugh a lot. I am giving her my birthdate so we can have a party together on June 9th.
I do want to mention that these glorious glam shots of Nini Stephanie JoJo were taken by Aunt Elizabeth who knows her way around a camera.

Nini has entered what is the toddler age for humans except she does not toddle. She could compete, I think, with a race car except she would not stay on the track. She is into just about everything. Curious plus so very active. She has been all mine for most of the summer because my granddaughter and her mom live in a rather cat unfriendly place. But, with school starting, they will be returning here and are welcome to take over with Nini. I have forgotten what kittens/young cats are like. But, I am not too sure any of my former cats were as hyper as Nini is. I am, as recommended by all authorities, keeping her in the house. Her attempts to escape are many. And, at times, I have to just grit my teeth and not open the door for her.
Her latest game is to crawl under the covers of my bed and attack my poor feet as if they were a bunch of mice. This can hurt; her claws are sharp. Pull her out and the little stinker purrs away. Who can't love a purring cat?
I tried walking her on a cat leash. She rolled over and over in some dirt. Not sure why--maybe trying to get out of the leash? By the time I got her moved to a less dusty location, she was a walking dust ball. I decided to try to give her a bath. She was filthy and left a significant amount of dirt behind in the tub. She also bit me twice and scratched me several times. Baths are not her thing. Well, walking cats is not my thing.
