Paka headbutts to communicate

Arrival Story:
Paka was rehomed to us in 2003 at age 17 months. When he accepted us, it was 150% and he is the peace-keeper and lover of the household. He even gives kisses to our 10 yr old beagle and insists on sitting at the table.

Paka's verbal cues and welcomes from a human voice include the phrases: "look who's here to see you!" and "come closer, Roo!" He will headbutt the air if no human heads are within striking distance. He gave me a black eye once as I foolishly attempted to sleep in.

Still playing around

This morning, 4 magpies were screeching on the deck. Then, a giant crow showed up and everyone got really excited. I ran like heck to a box with a hole cut in the top, and piled in headfirst. Unfortunatley, my large rear section got stuck outside, and the entire box flipped on its side from the sheer force of my assault. I did my best tazmanian devil act, and blew away the box bottom in my 60 mph fluffy escape.

Mom and Dad nearly dropped their coffee mugs watching this.

Quiet Sobbing

It was a tough year for catmom and dad. She lost her first abyssinian, Fraidy, and he lost his dog, Freckles. Both in May, so it's been real quiet and catmom can't seem to get over it. Catmom lays in bed with me on her chest and talks to me very quietly about lots of stuff I can't figure out. I'm glad I'm here for her.
