Diary of a Ruddy Aby

Mom cat wrote a diary post earlier today-but it seems to have disappeared :(
Mom started my insulin last night and we are hopeful, I did have a more peaceful night. I will be so glad when the yucky liquid medicine is finished. Mom had a detailed tutorial from Dr. P on giving me my shots. She was scared she'd hurt me-but she practiced on a tomato! I knew she would do fine, I had faith in her. I'm on my favorite pillow on the screened porch getting some fresh air. Love, Jack

We started Jack on insulin yesterday.
We are hopeful at this point and Jack is tolerating the shots well, he does not even seem to feel them. We'll just take it day by day and purr for good news next Thursday.
We were so thankful he was able to sleep last night.
We want to thank all our wonderful friends for your support. When things are not so stressful we will send personal thank-yous to every one.
Hugs, Jack's Mom

Hooray for Jack and hooray for you, Jack's mom, in learning how to give the insulin shots!

My mom learned a loooooong time ago when she had a diabetic cat. The subq shots aren't so bad -- we have a lot of loose skin between our shoulder blades and we hardly feel the injection, especially with those tiny insulin needles. I'm getting shots now for my arthritis, and believe me, I'd rather get those than the yucky ear drops I have to take sometimes.

We are thinking about you and Jack all the time, and sending you lots of purrs.

So glad you're started in your new meds! When I was just at the vet papa remarked how my shots didn't hurt and we had the same with Angel Ivan. I think it hurts people more than us furrs, MOL! Still purring for you.
