getting us to do what she wants.....
I knew we would be losing our old girl Pita due to age and her health problems. She was just about 14 years old and her seizures were becoming more frequent.
Visiting friends in Washington last year, I was introduced to a puppy named Poncho and fell in love. I was very worried about Pita leaving us and decided I would put my name in for a puppy like Poncho. I ordered one then the guilt set in - Pita would not like an active puppy around - she was elderly and a little grumpy with puppies. I twisted and turned for awhile but decided I had to do what was best for our old girl Pita - no puppy from this litter. I cancelled my puppy order but.....the deal was done through a friend of a friend and the cancelation was never given. About 3 weeks after the puppies should have been adopted I got a phone call. Did I want the puppy????After much soul searching - I was really concerned about Pita - we decided that this pup was meant to be ours and said YES. We planned a trip to southern WA to our friends - picked up Bella in Vancouver WA and spent a week at our friends getting acquainted. She was so good with Pita - Bella wanted to play but was not a pest. Pita and her Pom friend Princess accepted Bella right away. Not to say Pita didn't have to discipline the little one once in awhile but I think Bella actually perked our old girl up a little! Bella only got to live with Pita for a month. We brought Bella home on Labor Day and Pita passed away September 30 but it was a good month. We miss our old girl terribly but this little puppy made the loss a little easier to bear and we love her dearly. I don't think I've ever had a more affectionate dog although she can be a little devil too and FAST!! She's so little - Pita was Maltese and about 20 pounds compared to Bella who is about 6 1/2 pounds - I feel very protective of her.
Bella is Llaso, Chihuahua and Pom. Her brother Poncho (from a previous litter) looks like a red haired Chihuahua - too cute! She was born in Bend Oregon and now resides in Canada.

Mom told me this morning - my best friend Zoe and her Mom, Tawny are coming to visit for a few days!!! WOOF!!! We'll all get to sleep together in Mom and Dad's bed - hope there's enough room. It's been a great day. We walked to Grandma's this morning and had a visit. I got a great brunch when we got home - Mom's chicken stew - YUM! My belly was full. I had a little nap, we played and then I got to go outside, all by myself, and have a chew on the big bone Mom bought me. She said I could have it until Zoe gets here - then she'll put in back in the freezer. She got me a big leg bone but I hope the next one has a little more meat stuff on it! I'm a happy puppy!!
Mom said she was sorry she had to stop writing for me last night - I can't wait until that American Idol is over. A bunch of humans making lots of noise - I don't see what's so exciting about that.
We only have a minute to write today....I have so much to tell you about last month and it's already time to tell you about this month.
I wish dogs could purr like cats - I feel like purring!

We've been busy in the garden lately and my typist hasn't had a lot of time to keep my diary up to date. Mom said she'd type for me until American Idol comes on.....I'll try to remember what's been happening in my life.
Mom and I did the walk to raise money for MS with my Mom, Isy and some others - Gypsy, my part wolf friend came too. There was lots of dogs and I made some friends! Sometimes I meet nice dogs but I never get to see them again. I raised $100 for MS - Mom didn't do as good as me.
My friend Toby is over - Mom's dog sitting him and he's making funny noises and not letting Mom type. Mom let him out - I went too and all he wanted to do was go to the gate and see if his Mom was coming. He piddled on Mom's cement frog - I don't piddle on Mom's stuff, she thinks boys should piddle like girls.
I got left at home alone today - every Wednesday I get left. Grandma has to go places I'm not allowed and Mom says I can't stay in the car by myself so I have to stay home. Grandma came to my house when they finished doing the human only stuff - she even stayed for dinner. Mom made me a fresh batch of chicken stew - YUM! I like the chicken better than the other stuff she made!
We didn't go for a walk today. We usually go for a walk. Sometimes we walk to Grandma's and visit her and her friends. I have lots of human friends at Grandma's. The worst part of going walking is my harness - she always makes me wear it and I don't like it. Putting it on pulls my ears and my face - Mom says she'll get another harness when she finds one we both like.....I don't have to wear a collar - it would make my hairy all knotty. Mom says I'm really hard to groom. She has to brush me every single day and I still get a few mats. I got a nasty one when I had to wear my harness AND my raincoat - OUCH!
Oh No - American Idol is starting.....

I got to ride with Grandma on her scooter yesterday!!!! It was fun! Grandma rode her scooter over to our house to visit ME. Mom was gardening most of the day but when Grandma came we went for a walk. I walked for awhile and then rode with Grandma - that made her smile! She stayed for dinner and it was a little cold when it was time for Grandma to go home so Mom drove her scooter home with me in my little pack and Dad drove Grandma - it was fun. Wind in my hair and a good view of everything! Hope I get more rides.
It's been a good week for me. Mom took me to Sooke with my Isy again and I met 2 big dogs - they were part WOLF and they liked me. I liked them and their human, Jim too. They have a fun yard - BIG with lots of trees to sniff around. Mom was a little concerned at first - she left me in the car but when she saw how nice the big girls were she decided it was OK for me to meet them.
Another day I went and visited the folks at Grandma's 'home' - they think I'm cute and like me to visit them. I like them OK but I LOVE my Grandma!
Mom's been cooking my food since the dog food scare - I like it! She hopes it's healthy for me. She thought I was too skinny cause I just didn't like the dog food much so I wouldn't eat it.....she kept buying different kinds but nothing in a can is good enough for me!
Mom says I'm a thief - she's going to train me to steal something worthwhile - like wallets.....I don't know what wallets are?? I do know Grandma stills keeps soft tissues up her sleeve and I get them before she knows what I'm doing.....makes my tail wag!
