Mice. Eating mice, chasing mice, playing w/ mouse toys... he loves mice.
Ashe pouncing on him incessantly; litter boxes (he goes outside); rain
Toy mice; feathers-on-a-stick; feet under blankets
Favorite Nap Spot:
He alternates every few months. Currently, it's the master bed.
smoked salmon; vanilla milkshakes; whipped cream
He's an excellent mouser. Seriously, I should hire him out. He could clear entire warehouses of their rodents in the span of a few days.
indoors and outdoors
Found his pregnant mother at a gas station in Atlanta on New Year's Eve, 1999 - we were on our way home from upstate New York. We spent an hour catching her, and drove home with her yowling in a box for 4 more hours. A couple of weeks later she went into labor, and she did NOT want me leaving her side. When I got up to get the phone, she followed me out of the room, and I noticed she was in the middle of having a kitten so I reached out to catch it and voila, Angus was born in the palm of my hand. He was pink at birth, and was my favorite from that very moment. He knows he's special. :)
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Angus passed away last year to congenital heart failure. I miss him every day... He was truly the most remarkable cat I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Angus loves to go for walks with us. He tags right along and "talks" the whole time. Rolling in the sand outside and lying in the sun on the balcony are two more of his favorite things to do. He is very tolerant of other animals, LOVES kittens, and shares his home with two other cats and two parrots. At night he usually falls asleep on the couch but I always wake up in the morning to find him curled up next to me on the bed. He knows I hit the snooze at least once in the morning, so he doesn't bother to get up the first time... instead, he waits until it goes off the second time to get up with me and beg for breakfast - a very smart, and thoughtful, cat.
One interesting note about Angus is that he doesn't use a litterbox unless it's absolutely necessary. Instead, he "knocks" on the door to be let outside. He does his thing and then comes and "knocks" when he wants back inside. It was wonderful not having to clean a litterbox when he was the only cat. ;-p
