Arrival Story:
A vet tech I work with found Turtle with her mama Lucy (you can see her to the left), 3 brothers and 1 sister in a box taped shut in a dumpster when she was about 2 weeks old. We tried to introduce the mama to our household, but although she loved us people she was TOO aggressive with Mojo and Diego. Turtle was the last kitten left!

Our kids have been asking for a turtle and a kitten, so we figured this was a good way to combine the two!! Turtle has become the companion our two cats needed.. Mojo and Diego don't like each other much, but Turtle thinks she's the baby of each of them!

Turtle musings

My birthday!

Well, I am finally 1 year old and I had a great day- I got a new toy, catnip bubbles and treats and got tons of kisses and snuggles!
And to think almost a year ago I was a throwaway kitten- quite literally!
I was so surprised to see that the wonderful Angel Cougar, Navin, wrote a song for me. That REALLY made my day! Here it is:

Ok, here goes....
(warming up the vocal cords)....ahem....

Turtle is ONE today
With her family she will play
Just look at her amazing crew
It's obvious Turtle that they love you!
Turtle is a tortie girl
In her hammock she likes to curl
Sometimes you can find her there
Or she'll be in Mojo's lair
(good thing Mojo knows how to share!)
Be sure to read Turtle's amazing tale
Of her rescue she details
Turtle I hope you have the best birthday ever!
I am sure your family will endeavor
To make you feel like a superstar!
And rightly so, because you are!

All my love,
Navin R. Johnson-Davis

Some really good news, I hope!

If you've read my page, you know that my mother cat, my brothers and sister and I were found in a taped up box in a dumpster and my mama first tried to adopt my mother cat, Lucy. Well, it didn't work out with Mojo and Diego and Lucy went to vet tech school...she's still there.
The other day, one of mama's grooming clients said he's looking for a new cat (their old 0ne had to be put to sleep, and the kids and dog are lonely) so mama suggested Lucy. They said YES, but she can't leave vet tech school until May.
She is doing well there and even gets to play with all the other cats every night. I am so happy that my mother cat will finally be getting the home she deserves- she's the one who taught me to headbutt and to LOVE kids, ya know!!
Oh, yeah, mama works with the owners of all my siblings and they are all doing great, too...Liam, Jimmie and Danny and sissy Starfire!

A funny quote

Mama came across this one her kitten a day calendar for today, and it's by Abraham Lincoln..."No matter how much cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens".
How true! Hee hee!!!
