I WOKE UP TO WRITE THIS!

I Tagged Myself for Sparkman!

I read Sparkman!'s diary entry, he was tagged to list the 5 things he was thankful for this Thanksgiving. He said that if the cat reading it wasn't already tagged, then to consider themselved tagged by him!

So.....here are my top five, in no particular order

1. Daddy's Lap. Best place in the world to be.
2. Mommy's pillow. Good place for a nap.
3. The Teen. Who begged that I be allowed to come live with them.
4. All my Fur-ends here at Catster, who I don't talk to often enough
5. Whisker Lickin's treats and Arnold P. who turned me on to them!!

Happy Thanksgiving, my USA Friends!!
Happy Thursday, R.O.W. (Rest Of World) :)

Learned A New trick!!

My Mommy tried to get me to "stretch up" or reach for my treats, when she holds them up for me.

I've learned to take my paw, claws extended, and pull her hand down to my mouth, where I can easily eat the treat out of her hand.

So now she simply gives me my treats without holding them up, as she doesn't want to get "the claw" again.

So see? You CAN teach an old Mommy new tricks!!

Starving!

Feel sorry for me!!

A few days ago, I was minding my own business in the kitchen, eating from my dinner bowl and Mommy stepped on my tail! HARD! With her shoes on. She came running after me, trying to apologising, but I wasn't buying it.

Then, the very next morning, I was on her bed saying hello and good morning to Mommy while she was getting dressed...and she punched me right in the head! She said it wasn't her fault as she was pulling her pj's up over her head and didn't even know I was there. She says I was hovering too close.

I say Mommy is a stupidhead.

We later kissed and made up and Mommy gave me lots and lots of treats. I love treats, but I don't want to get injured to get any of them!!!

Hay Honey

What is "Hay Honey"??

When Mommy sees me first thing in the morning when she gets up, or in the evening when she comes home, she smiles at me and happily says "hay honey".

I look around but I don't see any hay nor any honey. Heck, I didn't even know that hay could make honey.

Maybe I should sleep on this as I ponder it some more.

Don't Leave me!!

First, the whole family goes away on vacation and leaves me home alone. Well, GrandMa came over to take care of my every needs, but still.

Then, Mom & The Teen go away to Atlanta fro something called "Dragon*Con". And leave me home alone. Well, alone with Dad. But still.

NOW, Dad & Mom leave every day for work and The Teen has school. Which leaves me home. Alone.

Don't they know someone has to be home with me 24/7 in case I require a treat??

Mom caught Con Crud or breathed some bad airplane air, as she now has a nice head cold. That'll teach HER to go away, and leave me home, ALL ALONE!!

CAUGHT!!

Daddy went to bed early last night. After Mommy put 2 blankies on him (yes, it's still too cold for Daddy, even in July) she left the room to use the computer upstairs. Before she left, she asked Daddy if he wanted "his girlfriend".....that would be ME!

He said No, she'll come up when she's ready. Less than five minutes later, Daddy called out to Mommy and asked her if I ever head-butted her really hard and rubbed my nose all over her face. Mommy said yes and then she stopped....turned on the light...and there I was! Already in bed with Daddy, cuddling away.

Hey, I don't waste any time when it's time to sleep next to my favorite Daddy!!

Boy, am I glad THAT'S over!!

I do NOT like fireworks. The colors are pretty, or so I'm told. But they are simply too noisy for this kitty!

Mommy heard a neighboring town shooting off their fireworks, so she came and scooped me up into her arms. I sat with her while she held and petted me and tried typing on the computer. I looked towards the window at the sounds (we couldn't see anything), safe in her arms.

After all the racket stopped, I stayed in Mommy's lap. I know a good thing when I get it! ;) MOL

I Can Haz CRF?

[ Leave A Comment | 5 people already have ]

The v-e-t called and left a message about my blood work. He said that I currently have very mild Stage One CRF (chronic renal failure). Mommy & Daddy have to make certain that I have plenty of fresh water to drink. I have them well trained and there are water bowls at both bathroom sinks for me, plus they turn on the faucet whenever they see me sitting there.

I also have to change my diet to mostly wet food and less dry. But Mommy promised that she will still give me my Whisker Lickin's treats!!

If anyone has any suggestions to help Mommy with my CRF, please send her a message. She wants to make certain that she does only the best things for me, as it should be. MOL

In other news, the vet said again that I AM A VERY GOOD LOOKING CAT for being 17 years old. Not to brag, but yeah. I know.

I Met Sparkman!, Moose, and Captain Morgan!!!

Well, sort of....

Mommy had a dream the other night that she brought me to their home so we could all meet and play together. In her dream, Captain, Moose, & Sparkman! (hereafter referred to as " McS!") lived at the very tippy end of a cul-de-sac with a big tree on their front lawn. The tree had cat toys dangling from its branches.

Tree was nice, but I wanted to meet the Boys! I could see them staring at me from a window so I dashed to the front door and went inside.

Sparkman! took one look at me, flew down the hallway, and proceeded to hide under a bed for the rest of my visit. Captain Morgan suddenly remembered that he had to check something with the ship and disappeared in the kitchen. Moose looked like a deer in the headlights. He just floofed out, hunkered down, and proceeded to stare wide-eyed at me. I blinked at Moose for a minute, and then I proceeded to sniff all their toys.

Arnold P. was also due to visit but the stupid alarm clock went off in the morning before he arrived. Perhaps I'll see him another time.

I climbed up on Daddy's lap as he was playing a video game and got some well deserved hugs & loving.

Such a rough evening certainly wore me out. I slept well, all night long!

Well, I'm doing a sleepover at the Vet's. Seems I probably needed a longer dosage of the antibiotic as now my sinuses and eyes are infected. I need more anti-B's, sub-Q fluids, drops for my eyes. So Mom decided to keep me with the vet as I am a demon when it comes to taking medicines.

So I may be well enough to go home again on Friday. It's a bit pricey too but as Mom says, the Teen really doesn't need a college education. MOL!!

Thanks for all the prayers and purrs and stars and rosettes. They are helping to make me & Mommy feel so much better.

I was alert & perky when I woke up this morning. But I turned my nose up at all offered foods and only ate a very few tuna flakes. I'm back to sleeping in a corner at the top of the stairs or in a box in the closet.

Mom is wondering if my mouth is still too sore to eat properly, especially since I had 3 teeth pulled? But I won't tell her anything and I absolutely refuse to let her look in my mouth.

So, Mom will call the vet Wens. morning and perhaps I'll have another wonderful car trip there.

Joy.

Arnold P. told me about Fancy Feast he ate when he wasn't feeling well. Mommy went out and got me some and I ate a whole little can for dinner and kept it down.

This morning, Mommy offered me a choice of dry and another FF can. I didn't want either one, but drank water instead.

So Mommy gave me about 3x as many tuna flakes as usual and I ate about half...and kept that down.

She's hoping I will eat something tonight. But I do appear perkier than I was most of yesterday. Monday, I just curled up in a ball and slept most of the day away, either at the top of the stairs (which is new for me) or in the corner of the upstairs sofa.

Please keep purring for me.

Daddy noticed that I was starting to have some trouble jumping up onto the beds and sinks. He told Mommy (whose job it is to "fix" these sort of problems) who them moved the stairs I have from the front window to the downstairs bathroom sink. Problem solved! MOL!!!!!

Mommy did buy cheaper plastic replacement steps for the window but I haven't sat on my window mat for some time now. Ever since Mommy learned that uneaten birdseed will sprout in the new mulch that was put down between the bushes, (ruining the whole purpose of the mulch), there have been no birds to watch since Mommy has yet to find a new place to feed them.

I go to the v-e-t on Tuesday for a teeth cleaning. Neither Mommy or I are looking forwards to it.

Why Women Should VOTE!!!

May 6th 2008 6:22 am

This is the story of our Grandmothers, and Great-grandmothers, as they
lived only 90 years ago. It was not until 1920 that women were granted
the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and
defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive.
Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden's blessing went on
a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of "obstructing
sidewalk traffic."

They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head
and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They
hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron
bed and knocked her out cold. Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis
was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe
the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching,
twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the "Night of Terror" on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden
at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a
lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket
Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote.

For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their
food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms. When one of
the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to
a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until
she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was
smuggled out to the press.

So, refresh my memory. Some women won't vote this year because--why,
exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote
doesn't matter? It's raining?

I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO's new movie
"Iron Jawed Angels." It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women
waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my
say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.

All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the
actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote.
Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege.
Sometimes it was inconvenient. "One thought kept coming back to me as I
watched that movie," she said. "What would those women think of the way
I use--or don't use--my right to vote? All of us take it for granted
now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn."
The right to vote, she said, had become valuable to her "all over again."

HBO released the movie on video and DVD. I wish all history, social
studies and government teachers would include the movie in their
curriculum. I want it shown on Bunco night, too, and anywhere else
women gather. I realize this isn't our usual idea of socializing, but
we are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a
little shock therapy is in order.

It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a
psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be
permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor
refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn't make
her crazy.

The doctor admonished the men: "Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity."

Please, if you are so inclined, pass this on to all the women you know.

We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard
for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic,
republican or independent party - remember to vote.

P.S. - Mommy ended up relenting and gave me a bunch of tuna flakes. Meow! :)

Daddy fell asleep in Mommy's bedroom over the weekend, so Mommy slept in Daddy's big bed. All was well all night long. Then, around 6-7 AM, I began what Mommy soon learned is my daily ritual of playing with the cord on the window blind.

Bat! Bat! Bat! I was having a grand old time. Seems Mommy wasn't enjoying this play time as much as I was and finally yelled out at me to stop it.

So I jumped from the sofa in front of the window to the bed and walked up to Mommy's pillow. She thought I was going to curl up next to her and go back to sleep. Nope! Next thing Mommy knows, there's a Chrissy foot on her face.

Mom head-butted and kissed me, called me a "little pain in the rump", then she rolled over, covered her head under the blankets, and went back to sleep. Hrmph! So I just licked my toes and finally joined her for a nap.

How was everyone's Easter / weekend???

Not much going on.

Daddy bought a new bag of dry food. Placed it on kitchen table. I kept knocking it off to the floor. Mommy kept putting it back on the table. I kept knocking it on to the floor. Bag now has a tear in it and food falls out when I rub against the bag.

The family was playing Trivial Pursuit a few night ago. They kept the game as it was when they stopped, because they got tired and hadn't finished the game. I sat in the middle of the board the next day (it was on the kitchen table) and proceeded to knock all the pieces and die onto the floor. Mommy rushed in to see what all the noise was. I sat in the middle of the board and made innocent kitten eyes.

Sleeping in my Catillac. Sleeping in my Queen bed. Sleeping on my Tranquility Blanket. Ignoring the feather wand Mommy bought. Playing with the rainbow balls. Playing with the poofballs from Arnold. Sleeping in Daddy's arms. Sleeping on Mommy's head. Getting brushed by the Teen. Sleeping some more.

Life is good.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

CLEO

Mommy lost her cat today.

Okay, let's elaborate. Mommy lost her FIRST cat, Cleo, on this date, 24 years ago.
The Thomases, who Mommy really doesn't remember, were simply "pre-cats"...getting Mommy used to the idea of CAT.

One day, in 1969, a white cat appeared in Mommy's backyard. Mommy was 10, the cat was 2, 3, maybe 4 years old. Long story short, this white cat became Cleo; lived and slept with Mommy almost every night. Cleo even helped "pick out" which boyfriend Mommy should marry. She hated them all until "Daddy" showed up.

Then, 6 months after Mommy married Daddy, Cleo passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. Because of Cleo, Mommy has had a cat in her life ever since she was 10.

So, I raise my tail and bow my head in honor of Cleo, the Cat who Started it All!

(well, not really! Not anymore....how can anyone stay mad at me when I am so cute??)

I've been sleeping on Mom's bed, on the tranquility blanket that Arnold sent to me. Every time Mom comes into the room, I perk up, hoping she will give me some dried tuna flakes.

Arnold turned me on to them and I am totally nuts about those flakes now. "Kitty heroin" Mom calls them.

Mom gave me some flakes earlier in the evening but once bedtime rolled around she kept telling me NO. I didn't believe her, but then she turned out the lights & got under the covers.

I hung around for a minute or two before I realized that she wasn't going to get back up to give me flakes. So I left and went to sleep with Daddy. Mommy shouted out something after I left, but I couldn't hear her properly. Something like "rich" or "witch".

Yes. I am one rich witch!!

Time to nap again! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Chrissy

I am to choose 10 kitty friends and say something nice about them. Many, many friends have been tagged already, and that is so wonderful. I will TRY to choose untagged friends...although they'll be difficult to find as all Catster friends are fantastic!!

ROCKY ANN Where to begin about this wonderful girlfriend to all? She's the Hello Kitty goddess, a cheesehead, a Super Stroller. One of the absolute bestest friends on Catster.

BOB, the handsome UK kitty who wears a wonderful assortment of shirts.

Charity Ann, the kindly kitty who is a Mother to all kittens

Gimme a great Bud with many toes; always there when you need him, a true friend.

Groucho Kitty a friend who is all fur fun, and who made me an Honarary Poop!!

Reebok, 22 pounds of pure love. A gentle giant, he just loves everyone.

Murray imitates Lil' Cheney from the Lil' Bush cartoon. Thank goodness Murray looks nothing like him!

Elsa a gorgeous lady. Always prim and proper, yet loves to flirt and friendly to all.

Queenie oh so regal looking, with her glitter and crown...but how can you not love a cat who sticks her tongue out at the camera? MOL!!

Last, but never least, the Love of my life, my sweetheart, my little Brussel Sprout, ARNOLD P. *sigh* Where to begin? His humor and silliness first caught my eye. I love a cat who can make me laugh. And he has a very tender and romantic side also. A true Friend to All in bad times and good times. He is a safe boat on troubled waters, and he even has the photos to prove it (just check out his pictures!). I love you Arnold P.!!!

So many catsters I wished to tag who were already chosen. I am so happy Mommy discovered this site and I'm overjoyed to have to many Good Friends in my life.

I had to sleep with Mommy again last night. She caught a bad cold, probably a result of being in the hospital-like setting and, once home, catching the Teen who had turned the thermostat way up high. Yesterday morning our house was like a desert with absolutely no moisture in the air!

Mommy took a "Blonde half-day off"...where you're off in the morning and go to work in the afternoon. ;) She slept and slept and slept with the humidifier in her room and today she can breathe better. Of course, I slept with her to offer some comfort.

I'm worried too about Arnold and his Mom. Hope we hear some good news from them today.

I'm so stressed out from all this worrying, I think I'll go take a nap to calm down.

As a special treat, the Teen cradled me in her arms and she & Mommy carried me outdoors to the backyard. I feel guilty about not updating my diary...but I really don't DO anything! MOL!!!!

I wake up in the morning and look cute, get fed by Mommy, pee, drink some water, roll over and look cute, run upstairs to nap some more with Daddy. Afternoons I sleep until The Teen gets home. She pets me for a while, brings me to her bedroom and I nap on her bed while she does her homework. Evenings I sit on someone's lap while they watch TV and look cute while I take a nap. At night I go to sleep, usually curled up with the Teen, right by her pillow.

and THAT is my Life. Oh yes, I forgot. I wake up around 3 in the morning to madly dash up and down the hallway, playing with the poofball Arnold sent me. and then I go back to the bed and sleep.

I played my very favorite game with Mommy this weekend...Hide and Don't Speak!

I hide, Mommy goes from room to room to room calling my name as she looks to find out just where I am. I don't say a word. Just listen to her voice becoming more frantic with each passing minute; watching her feet walk past my hiding spot every time.

I'm usually in a closet but I really fooled Mommy this time - my newest spot is under the middle of Daddy's bed, where it's the darkest and Mommy can't easily find me.

Of course, once she got down on the carpet, onto her side and called to me, I did wander out to let her throw some lovin' on me. :)

After all that excitement, I took a well-deserved nap.

Teasing Mommy

Mommy buys me all these toys.

Plastic ball with a smaller ball inside with a jingle bell inside that.
Knitted catnip mice that she lovingly de-tailed for me so that I won't chew it off and eat it.
Rainbow balls.
Fuzzy mice.

So, what is my favorite toy right now?

Little plastic straws from juice boxes!

Mommy says I drive her nuts. Hee hee hee.

Oh my! I just got a paw mail from Voilet letting me know I won an Honorable Mention winner for the We Love Dad 07 contest!!

Such an honor to be picked! It's always a great joy for me to rest near my Daddy and although sometimes he complains, I know that deep down he loves it too.

I can't wait for Daddy to get home from work today so I can tell him all about it and sleep on his lap.

Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I'm a BUD of the DAY!

Gimme logged on before me and made me "Bud of the Day" for June 2 on Navin & Buds! Mommy was totally flabbergasted and I was speechless!

Then Mommy got all teary-eyed while I just beamed and purred away.

Thank you so much Gimme for this wonderful honor and thanks too to all of Navin's Buds.

I am so happy over this that I am going to go sleep on Daddy's lap now!

Mother's Milk

Mommy was in the kitchen doing something when I heard a LOUD noise coming from her. I rushed in to see if she needed my help.

Lo and Behold! There were splatters of milk all over the floor. Mommy had milk dripping down her chin and I realized...Mommy somehow made some milk for me!

I began happily dashing from spot to spot, lapping up all the milk I could. Mommy alternated between coughing and telling me NOT to drink that milk. Me, Chrissy, not drink milk? What a silly Mommy!

Then Mommy explained that she gagged while taking her medication and while some went down, other pills and the milk shot out of her mouth all over the floor.

We were impressed...one pill went 25 feet; through the kitchen and into the dining room! So after Mommy cleaned up the mess, she gave me a small bowl of milk to being so concerned about her.

Hope you all had an exciting day too!

Egg

Mommy is a little sad.

The cardinals that built a nest near the front door of the house - and provided me with much amusement every afternoon - have abandoned the nest. Mommy kept an eye on it, wondering if the birds were just "out".

But they haven't been seen for 5 days now, and there is one lonely unhatched brown egg in the next. Mommy feels bad that after all that hard work of building the nest and taking good care of the egg, the cardinals simply up and left it.

Me, I am wondering if that egg is still good to eat. ;)

Playing gotcha - the meme game

I have been tagged! That is right I have been tagged by SPARKMAN! to participate in Kazumi Joy's meme.

The rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My seven random facts:

1) I love whipped cream and milk. But the milk has to be at least 2% or don't bother giving it to me

2) I am deathly afraid of balloons

3) I run around like a maniac after I use the litter box

4) At my first home, I prefered to be outside, alone, in bad weather rather than be inside and have to share the house with other cats

5) I flip over and go crazy whenever Mom or The Teen pant like a dog at me

6) I have a water fountain but prefer to drink my water out of a paper cup by the sink in each bathroom

7) I think the objects in the big screen TV are going to come out and run me over. So I run past it almost every time it's on

Okay!
And here's my friends that I'm tagging!

Hondo
Grocho Kitty Poop

Cinders, an elderly gentlecat lady that Mommy and I were sponsoring from Best Friends Animal Society, has passed away. Mommy has learned to keep tissues near her computer for times like these. :(
******************************************************** ***********

Dear Friend of Cinders,

We're sorry to let you know that Cinders the cat has passed away. At over 22 years of age, her kidneys and her body could no longer sustain her. She passed gently over the Bridge surrounded by much love.

We're so sad to lose her. As her sponsor, you know that despite many health problems, Cinders had outlived her family. She came here to the sanctuary and had a bit of difficulty adjusting to her new life – until she was given her own "safe” space. Once she had her own area, she blossomed, enjoying a second youth for a while. She was a favorite of caregivers and visitors alike, and will be sorely missed by all. But she was so lucky to have a friend like you. Your sponsorship allowed this little old lady cat to live her last days with dignity, joy and love.

*************************************************** ****************
Rest In Peace, sweet Cinders. Rest In Peace.

I like my cat tree now.
I LOVE my cat tree now.

I love the cozy hidey-hole where I can curl up and sleep and hide from people.
I love batting my toys around between the posts at the bottom of the tree.
I love jumping to the middle section and climbing through the hole to lay down in the cup at the top of the tree.
I love sleeping in my cup, in front of the window, absorbing the sun's rays & heat like I am a solar-powered cat.
I use this solar power to move from the cat tree to Daddy's lap.

Sleeping is an important business, you know!

THANK YOU Mommy, for buying me this tree house!!

Thank you Anonymous!

I've gotten a few rosettes from Anonymous. A clover, a rose friendship, a haiku poem, and an Easter flasher! Thanks!

I've heard/seen that there are rosettes being left by a mysterious svelte Black cybersmooching Cat, a lizard running up a tree, some kitties out there known as the Blues Brothers (did anyone ever find out who they are?).

So much fun going on in Catster land!

Yesterday I danced and partied at Cookies and Wally's birthday party, next week is Rocky Ann's sweet 16 party. Such a great time I am having!

MEOW!!

That tree's for Me?

I still won't go sit in my tree house. Mommy can put me in it and I'll stay there for a while. But I still won't go in it by myself.

In fact, this morning, as Mommy was getting dressed, she noticed that I wasn't around, bothering her for pets or food. She looked and looked for me and finally found me laying down in the kitchen.

I was on the hard tiled floor, wedged in between my food bowl and my water fountain. Mommy was worried that I was sick but I was napping. When she woke me and petted me she found out that I had discovered a spot on the floor where the heat duct is close to the floor and thus makes it VERY warm.

Even though the floor was hard, it was so warm, I didn't want to leave. I had a lovely nap there most of the morning until Mommy came home just after Noon. Then I slept in her lap. :)

How Sweet!!

I got a Random Act of Catness rosette from...someone. Thank you, whoever you are! I am touched that a kitty would take the time to be so nice & generous. *purrs*!!!

Mommy got something called a "bonus" from work today. She came home with a mid-sized cat tree which she was very happy with but I am ignoring.

Will I continue to ignore it? Will Mommy have to return it to the store? Or will I take to it and enjoy climbing on and sleeping in all the nooks & crannies?

Only time will tell!!

Is Mommy turning into a CAT??

I mean, that would be so cool! Mommy came home from work, put on her pj's, asked the Teen to cook dinner for Daddy & herself, and then Mommy - WENT TO BED!

She slept for 4 hours before getting out to get something to eat...just like a cat! WOW!!

On the other hand, Mommy is also the Food Lady and Litter-Box Cleaner, so I hope she just stays Mommy.

This has been a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad week.

First Navin passes on to the Rainbow Bridge, then Bill the Cat follows him a few days later.

But, I heard that Navin no longer needs his Magic Pants and has sprouted the most magnificiant, cougarific tail while Bill is younger and is growing fur back on his ears again!

While I am very sad they have moved on, I am happy that they are no longer in any pain and are healthy and continuing to have grand adventures.

Rest in Peace Navin

I recently joined a new group called KITTY CONNECTION, run by the "Poop" Family. (Groucho Kitty, Lucky Ducky, Bandit, and Rickie Doodles)

Yesterday, I was given the the title of Honorary Poop for being the first "non-Poop" member of this new group! What an achievement.

And - Best Boy Bud Navin was having problems in the "litter box" department. I sang him a little "poopie song" and low and behold....success!

Today has been a good day all around. I am worn out from all this excitement, I'm going to go get Mommy and we'll all sleep with that 'lectric blanket tonight!

Not much going on. I sleep with Daddy, I sleep with Mommy, I sleep with the teen. Today I spent hours and hours sleeping curled up in a tight ball on some towels on the sofa that no one folded. Nice and cozy they were.

Then I woke up and made pretty kitty eyes at Mom so she'd melt and hug me and I'd purr and leave claw marks in her left shoulder as she held me. Dinner of shrimp and tuna, some water from the sink.

The Teen gave me some of her whipped cream from a can, which is now my new favorite food.

A rough day. Time for sleep.

Gee Mommy, what big feet you have!

I did have a big entry to post here, but Mommy jumped up onto the keyboard and totally erased it when she stepped on the keyboard.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Thank you!

I would like to say a big happy THANK YOU to everyone who has left me a star or a Rosette these past few weeks. I am so happy to receive them and even happier to make new friends and to hear from old friends.

These have been some quiet weeks for me. Spent a lot of time sleeping as everyone works and the Teen is still in school. Of course, I patrol the house; keeping it mouse and bug free, checking all the water faucets to make certain they are working properly, sleeping on everyone's bed so no one feels left out, finding that sunny spot on the carpeting and absorbing its energy.

It's been quiet but pleasant. I understand the Family will be eating a LOT of food in the next few days and I too look forward to a few choice tidbits.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends! Don't forget to nap afterwards!!

I'm the Only Democat in the Village!

A few weeks ago, some men came to the front door and asked Mommy if she'd take some brochures about them, as they were Democats, or something like that. Mommy said NO, as she didn't need the brochures as she had already decided to vote for them.

They were all happy and excited and I swear, if they were Demodogs, they'd be wagging their tails! They then asked Mommy if they could place a sign on our lawn, stating that Mommy supported them and the Democatic party. Of course Mommy said sure!

Well, the sign has been on our lawn for about a week now. Driving the Teen to school, Mommy looked and noticed lots of signs on people's lawns...all for something called Republicats! Lots and lots and lots of signs and not another one for the Democats.

So, Mommy says it looks like we're the only Democats in the Village!

This news has me slightly dismayed. I must go and sleep on it for a while now.

I do not believe this. The entire family went on vacation and LEFT ME HOME ALONE! For 7 whole days! Okay, GrandMa (Mom's mom) came by twice every day to feed and water me and sat and kept me company for that time. But, there was no one to sleep on at night. I was reduced to sitting on their computer chair, sniffing where their butts used to sit.

And then they came home. Everyone ran to see ME, leaving the suitcases in the car. I didn't know who to sit on first, I was so confused. I ran from the Teen to Mom to Dad, back to the Teen again. Cuddles and head butts and kisses all around. It took me one whole day to feel normal again. I stayed with the Teen in her room for awhile, then I heard Mom downstairs on the computer and ran to be with her. After an hour or so, I realized that Daddy was upstairs, sleeping ALL ALONE! So I ran to be with him, meowing all the while.

Monday, Daddy's parents came to visit and I proceeded to sprawl out on the kitchen table, looking adorable in the setting sunlight. GrandMom could not get over how sweet and soft I was and I reveled in her admiration. Mom brushed me after dinner while I sat on Daddy's lap.

All is well with my world. I can sleep deeply now.

That teenager I sometimes sleep with was gone for a week. The house was strangely quiet yet I missed her.

Mommy was gone for 6 days also. She went to Canada for something called a "Gathering of the Felloship", a Lord of the Rings convention or something. No cats allowed. I was not impressed.

No one left home but Daddy, so I made certain to sleep on him every night. Some nights he wanted to play poker, but I made certain all his games got cancelled so he could spend every evening with me!

Mommy & Daddy are having most of the inside of the house painted. Lots of strange men in the house, removing wallpaper, moving the furniture, opening the door. I got stuck being locked in the bedroom so I couldn't sneak out.

Don't they know there is grass to be eaten and wildlife to be caught and dissected on the front porch? I think they have their priorities all wrong.

Feh.

Going to nap now.
