As many may know, the east coast shook today. It was centered in Mineral, VA (I never heard of it, but Mommy heard it's somewhere near Richmond, VA). We were at home when this happened and we're not talking about it much. All I know is, that it was scary and it felt like a giant was hovering above our house and shaking it with all his might. Under the bed, under the bed alerts were called amongst us. And, and, and our Mommy was at work . . .

Note From Mommy:

I was sitting at my desk at work when the earthquake took place. All of a sudden, the ceiling above my desk was shaking. At first, I thought the people who worked upstairs were moving furniture around and they dropped something. Then I thought the object, whatever it was, was going to drop through the ceiling and land on top of me. I screamed and put my hand over my head and ran out of my office. The noise in the ceiling (rattling and shaking) followed me (so it seemed) and I got more scared and didn't know where to go. One of the attorneys knew what to do and told me to get out of the building and he also did so. All my co-workers and other people were outside. The word "earthquake" was uttered by many. I looked up at the roof of the office building expecting to see a big hole in it because it felt like the roof was shaking and coming down when I was inside. The building was fine. One of the attorneys at work said, "look at the shadow of my car . . . it's still shaking". But when I looked, it was still.

All in all, I'm safe, everyone's safe, my cats and home are safe, my brother and his wife are safe. A lot of my FB/Catster friends and cats are safe. I feel blessed that this earthquake wasn't worse and everyone/everycat is safe!

This quake was a 5.8. I'm not sure if it was that strong in my area. One thing for sure, it was very scary. This is the second earthquake I've been in. The other one was in Massachusetts in the 1980's wherein the house I lived in shook a little.

Back to Bail:

Anyway, an "earthquake" is what Mommy called that "giant" who shook the house. Our area is on a fault line but not that St. Andreas fault like in CA. *If this quake was a 6.0 it would have been twice as strong as the 5.8 that happened today. (*Mommy says she heard this on the news)

Anyway, everycat and everyone we're glad you're all safe!!! We don't want any aftershocks either.

Purrs & Breeps,

P.S. News post: They just said there were three aftershocks around this area and one was a 4.2 in the DC area. Of course, we felt nothing yet and hope and pray that it doesn't happen.
