WE'RE DOING A HAPPY DANCE!!!

I got good news from my V*E*T!! So the peepee results weren't too bad, a little protein and the concentration wasn't bad at all, so Dr. Wood said she's very pleased and that I should be around for a while - that there is no guarantee of anything - but with diet modification and supplements down the road, I'll be around a while longer.

Will you purr for me, please??

I went for my annual senior wellness checkup on Saturday and my vet called my mom today and gave her the bad news - my kidneys are beginning to fail.

Tomorrow I go back to the vet so they can get some urine, I was D R Y on Saturday. This will help the doctor determine, more or less, how bad my kidneys are, she will be able to see how much protein is in the urine. Mom is also going to pick up some diet food for me - YUCK!! I cannot have my Fancy Feast Medleys anymore ... or my Wysong Epigen *sigh* ... I need less protein and phosphorous - whatever.

The vet told mom that some kitties live 3 - 4 years after they kidneys start failing ... I hope I'm one of those kitties.

But for now, I feel good - I play, eat, drink water, use the litterbox and give and get lots of love ... life is good.

I will make the best of whatever time I have left ... like my fur angel Yorkie brother, Ralphie, always says - EVERY DAY IS A GIFT.

January 24, 2012 - a day I will never forget!

My beautiful friend Playful has bestowed a wonderpurr honor upon me - she gave me a White Star!!

It's a special honor from the Pure White Kitty Club: "Each year in January, a number of us white cats painstakingly choose some non-white kitties that have added something special to the Catster Community."

I'm beyond excited and very humbled by this beautiful gift from such a wonderpurr and special lady, my dear friend Playful.

Clueless in South Florida!!!

That's what I was - well, my mom really - clueless in South Florida! We had no clue that I'm a Mackerel Tabby!!! Why, oh why do I have to be connected in any way to a smelly fish??? MOL MOL

It made mom laugh because a few years ago she made a mackerel loaf for Aggie & me, she put a lot of time, effort and money into it - it was HUGE - and we sniffed it, turned around and walked off and mom fed it to the raccoons!!! And now she finds out she has a "mackerel" cat in her house!! MOL MOL

See, I don't like mackerels at all, so why do I have to be a Mackerel Tabby????

Oh well, I do love my stripes and wear them proudly so I guess it's okay ... now I'm wondering if I'm a good swimmer???????

My heart is sad

My heart is very sad today, my dear old furt friend Nello left this world today, he has gone to the Rainbow Bridge where he is once again young and healthy.

I will miss Nello very much, he always called me his "gal pal" and I will always be Nello's gal pal and he will always be my dear old furt friend.

Mommy's eyes won't stop leaking, she loved Nello very much, his family is very special to us and we're hurting with them, we feel their pain and we're holding them close to our hearts.

Fly high over the Rainbow Bridge, my friend - I will see you there one day.

family are in dire need of help from all their Catster friends. They’re presently living in the middle of Mexico and their human dad has no work and savings have been depleted. They have confirmation of a place to stay and a future job here, in North Carolina, for their human dad … getting the furamily here is the difficult part.

New flavors!!!

Wysong Epigen now comes in Fish and in Venison. Meowmie got us the fish and we love it!!! Sometimes she mixes the chicken & fish together, sometimes she doesn't ... guess she doesn't want us to get bored.

She also bought us - AGAIN - a few cans of Blue Buffalo and she was pleasantly surprised to find out we like the flake chicken ... Clawdius devoured it and Aggie and I delicately savored it ... MOL MOL.

Poor meowmie is always trying to get us to eat good, holistic canned food, sometimes it works but most of the time we walk away from it ... but we do love, and highly recommend, Wysong Epigen dry food which is excellent and, unlike some of the food you see advertised a lot, does not make you sick.

Remember, just because there hasn't been a pet food recall recently (thank the Cat Gods for that) it doesn't mean that cats, and dogs, are not getting sick from eating commercial pet food that is highly advertised and sold in major pet food stores.

Ask your human to research the food you're eating. Holistic food made from human grade ingredients is the best, it costs more BUT you eat less of it because it fills you up AND you will be healthier which means less vet visits.

Soooo, read labels and make sure you're eating good stuff ... you are what you eat!!!
