My brother had a pet dog for about a year, and I wanted my own pet. My mother's friend's cat had just had a litter of kittens, and my parents said I could adopt one. There were about 5 in the litter, and the one I wanted at first was already taken. So I chose Tiger instead. She's been here since I started second grade, and now I'm a senior in high school. She's such a great cat!
