   Leave a treat for Kenya

Sweetheart, honey bun, and when she's bad - Kenya Cavendish Terwilliger {and then my last name} *w*

Kitty Complexion:
sleepyvery active
not curiousvery curious
not vocalvery vocal

Quick Bio:
-cat rescue

Gray Tabby

She loves her tummy rubbed, and she loves to play!

Don't touch her while she's taking a bath! DOGS - eewwww!!! Closed doors. And don't rub her tummy when she's outside... she can't look "wussy" to the other cats around! *w*

Favorite Toy:
Changes frequently, but a bit of raffia is always a sure bet!

Favorite Nap Spot:
On the bed.

Arrival Story:
She was about 10 months old when she showed up on my doorstep. I opened the door, she walked in, sat down, looked at me and said "I'm here!!!" As clean and healthy as she was, she'd obviously been dropped off and no one replied to my found ads anywhere. Obviously, I'm glad, because she's my baby and my best friend. The bond between us was almost immediate and it's only grown since then!

The vet thinks she might be part Maine Coone, cuz she's so big and she has tufts at the tips of her ears. She loves to talk and I think that's also a trait of Maine Coons?

I wrote this last January on another forum. I'm cleaning out my posts from there and didn't want to lose this, so here it is. :)

Kenya is the best kitty in the world. She's my best friend and from the first day that she walked through my door, she's told me that she belongs with me. When I leave, she always greets me at the door when I arrive back home. When I work long shifts, she doesn't want to leave my side. If I take a nap, she almost always comes and sleeps on top of me and when we're just hanging out, she loves to play! I've never seen a cat play so much! OH! Or one who TALKS so much! She has quite a vocabulary lol

She loves people too! If someone comes over to visit, they are automatically her new toy. If she's outside and someone walks down the sidewalk, she thinks that they're supposed to stop and admire her before they continue on. I remember one time when she was visibly pissed off when 2 girls walked past her without acknowledging her presence. Too funny!

Something that she's started to do is wait on the bathroom counter until I walk by. Then she starts talking to me and letting me know that it's time to be fleacombed. She used to hate it but now she loves the feel of the comb in her coat. She purrs and pushes herself into the comb. Even though the fleas are all gone, it's still a daily ritual that we do whenever she feels it's necessary and we bond even closer.

I could write pages about my friend, but I'd rather go give her loves and hear her purr with the knowledge that her "mom" is there with her.

*looks over my shoulder at her asleep on the couch... I love you, sweetheart :)

Mom and me... we travel around the country with her work. We just came from Utah and now we're in Bakersfield, CA. Usually, things are ok. I hang out in the hotel room while she's at work and then we snuggle when she gets home. The other day though, my happy world came to a screeching halt!!!!!

She brought home a...

a KITTEN!!!!!

How could she do this to me?!?!?!?!? She keeps telling me that things will be ok and that the kitten needed a home. I guess it was living in an oil refinery and was one of the few reasonably tame ones. The people there encouraged her to take this thing, and now I have to share my mom and my life with this little leech.

I have to admit, she's cute. She's about 6 months old and looks alot like me. Mom just put a collar on her so she could know where the kitten is once she's let out of the bathroom. She's kinda shy, so mom thinks she'll hide out under the bed or something.

My uncle took her brother. Mom says he's bigger than she is and really mellow. And gorgeous. A classic tabby, whatever that is. I thought I was the classic! hehe

Anyway, that's all for now. I think we're headed back home tomorrow (maybe), so I'll let you know how it goes. Mom's trying to figure out a name for this "thing", so if anyone has any ideas, send her an email and she'll put it into the pot! (she's gonna upload a picture onto my space here... can ya believe it? It's just until she figures out a name for the bugger and then she'll get her own space.)
