Hi Friends,
Hi Sebastian~! Well, meetin' face to face does require lotza supervision fur shur!~ Da introduction o' a new kitty usually iz halpful if'n Ur mommy get's some towels or kitty stuff da smells like U 'n put it whar U can smell it from da other kits. 'n Do da same wif them, so dey can get used to Ur smells first. We kitties LIVE fur our smellers! Da scent is what halps us manuever. Den after dat, U get used to da scents, a warm greeting meeting face to face would be in order. Dey be'z hissin' coz dey don't know'z ya yet. Take it slow, we don't want anyfur hurt or ragged out. Purrs 'n I hope dis halps, MALLEE 'n MILO too Mom got antsy and took the rest of the panels off the pet gate. Later, she actually opened the door! Guess what? I did not come out. MOL She put me on the steps; I sniffed a bit, and then I walked back into my hallway. Mom left the door open and awhile later I appeared in the kitchen. That's as far as I've gotten on my own. She brought me into the living room with her, but I soon left. So, it looks promising as far as my relationships with Marmelade and Midge; they've only hissed at me a few times. I did not hiss back; I only meowed. I have yet to meet Pippin because she is napping in the bedroom. Purrs, Sebastian Hi Sebastian! I mentioned before that when I came in, the plan was to keep me separated, but I met everyone in a hurry. I was monitored, and I went under the couch if I got too scared. But I got used to everyone pretty quickly. It seems like your new siblings are taking things in stride. 'If mom is around, it should be okay for all of you to be together. A little hissing is normal. Soon you will be purring together! Some hissing is normal - I think it's just something we all do when meeting. Things are going pretty smoothly. Mom just closed the pet gate door so I can sleep without anyone sneaking up on me. MOL Tomorrow when Dad gets home from work he will open it again, so we can all be together supervised. :) Hissing is normal! I hiss at everything I don't like! Cranky Moe Moe hisses! Don't worry, I barely ever hiss at brofur anymore, except when he REALLY annoys me! hehehe! Just ride out the hissing storm and soon you'll be sleeping on their butts! Pawsome news, Sebastian! I think by being such a good boy, you have guaranteed your place in the house (like there was any question about it in the first place - MOL)! Mol Simone! Right now I am resting in the kitchen window. It's my new favorite place! Them outside smells you are gonna have on you for a while always makes us get all hissie-fied! MOL! Just take time and you will get to smellin' like the rest of the kitties :D Huggs, Platelicker MOL~! Dat Mallee gurly her still bites me on me bum 'n don't like it 'n I HISSSSSS at her big time!!~ We love to purrlay chase 'n tumble 'n wrestle too! Sometimes a fur bro or sis will get too rough 'n we gotta let 'em know it, Sebastian~! Heheeh, glad U likin' Ur kitchen window~!! I foresee some fun times enjoyin' Ur furrs ina Ur furefur home! MEOW!! Purrs 'n bonks, MILO Sounds like you guys are coming along nicely. I'm so glad. Just take your time at it. We are so happy that things are working out well Sebastian. We know just how much your Mom and Dad love you already!!! It sounds like things are going to work out just fine. Keep us posted!! When we were new (me and my sis Maedia), Mommy would brush the other cats and then brush us and then brush the other cats so that we all smelled the same. We would also sometimes trade places. We would go out of the room to another room and the other cats came in to get used to our scent. |
