Black and White

Purring, Kosmo, me, eating!

Loud noises, fast movements, being picked up, new people, minor changes...don't know what we'll do if there's a major change of some kind!

Favorite Toy:
He's a diehard laser chaser and he loves his squeaky mouse...and hiding in bags and closets.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Toro usually naps on my bed or in his leopard-print bed in my room : )

Favorite Food:
ummm, anything crispy.

He can attach himself to me like Velcro! And that's what he prefers to do - attach himself to me!

Arrival Story:
Well ever since Kosmo came to live with me back in September 2011 I'd wanted him to have a kitty companion but already had an elderly dog and decided a second cat would be too many animals, both for me and my dog. I'd decided to wait until Monday (my dog) had passed away before getting another cat. Sadly, Monday died in February 2012, leaving Kosmo a little despondent and alone all day while I was at work. I was lonely too, not having Monday's smiling face to greet me as I had every day for over 13 years :( My daughter and I went down to a local shelter to take a look at the adoptable cats. The adoption counselor asked us a lot of questions about our lifestyle and about Kosmo's personality in particular before leading us to meet a little black-and-white 6-month-old kitten named Nutterbutter whom she felt would make a great friend for Kosmo and a great addition to our family. When we first saw him he was so cute...and so scared! The adoption lady said she thought he'd been emotionally neglected and left to fend for himself in his previous home and really needed a family to love him and especially another young cat to teach him 'how to be a cat.' She also said he arrived at the shelter with scratches on his face and neck! We don't know why :( So there it is! We brought him home and after a tentative few weeks of him going from being too scared to come out from under the bed to him finally meeting Kosmo and becoming a full-fledged member of the household, I couldn't be more thrilled with him! I changed his name to 'Toro' because when you pet him he kicks his feet on the ground like a little bull! He's a super snuggly guy who purrs constantly when he's hanging out with someone. He and Kosmo have become fast friends and spend their time together playing, sleeping, and licking each other's heads. Yay, kitty love!

Toro shares his home with me, his 1-year-old kitty brother Kosmo, my two children ages 13 and 10 (they are here half time), and a 5-year-old Bearded Dragon named Dingo. Toro has another brother - a kitty named Domino - who lives with my ex-husband full-time and my children the other half of the time when they are not here. We all live in San Jose, CA.
