I adopted him from a lady who fosters kittens and cats at her home.
Bio:
When I adopted Tripod he was already 4 months old and was a tripod (hence the name). Unfortunately, the foster mom didn't have a clue to why he was missing his back digit up to below the knee. He was found along with a few litter-mates, who were adopted right away, and was left because of this "deformity." Fortunately, I loved his curiosity and his big eyes and swept him off his three feet! There are only some theories to why he has three legs: 1. His mother chewed off the leg when he was born on accident while she was cleaning the afterbirth, or 2. He was born without it.
I'm pretty sure the first theory is more exact because it took him a little over a year and half to have it heal to actual scar tissue... that wouldn't scrape or peel off. :(
But now, he is a happy, ignorant kitty, who has no clue he's missing his leg! He runs, plays, jumps, climbs and wrestles with his brothers and sisters with no problems! :)
