Grandma and Mom held me down! On my BACK! Mom held my back claws and Grandma was rubbing my belly. What are they doing? I tried to fight them. Scratching with front paws, biting and growling but they kept telling me STOP!!! What? I'm just trying to protect my bell and private parts.
Our foster kittens have fleas and they are too young to have the meds. We were told to wash the kittens in Original Blue Dawn Dish Washing Liquid (like they use to take oil off bids----shhh don't tell the Tabbies I mentioned the "b" word). Anyway, work the Dawn into a good lather, scrub the kitty and rinse. The fleas seem to come off half alive, so you may want to do this in a bathtub so that you can rinse them right down the drain. We just tried this over the weekend and we still found a few fleas after they were washed. But all in all it really helped. We are curious to see what others recommend. Good luck and sorry we recommended a bath...that is probably something you didn't want to hear. We don't have any advice, but sending you purrs that the fleas leave you alone soon! Fleas are a major bummer. When I first came to my forever home, I had a bunch of them and, like you, I was too young for flea medicine. I got the Dawn bath several times, and Mom gave the vacuum cleaner a really good workout for several weeks. Every day, every upholstered or carpeted surface. And the older cats, who didn't have any fleas, got the flea medicine between their shoulder blades so they couldn't be alternate hosts. It took several months, but we broke the flea life cycle. What's a bath? Heehee! Your about to find out little brother! OMC! This doesn't sound good... |
