Things which move
Favorite Nap Spot:
An open lap, the back of a chair
Whatever's available--and if it's covered in plastic... it's still available.
Jinx belonged to my grandmother--my gramma bought a kitten (KC) about three years ago, from the SPCA, and he passed away unexpectedly from a kidney failure. When he died my gramma, living alone in her big house, was lonely, and was having a hard time coping with her chemotherapy (having been diagnosed with lung cancer some years prior). So my dad told her he would buy her another kitten and, although I never would have, took her to the pet store, where she picked out Jinx. A short three months after picking up Jinx, my gramma lost her battle with cancer and was laid to rest next to her youngest son and husband. Jinx came home to live with us a province over and has been ruling the household with an iron paw ever since.
Jinxer is the daughter of a 7lb mixed breed queen and a completely unknown manx-type cat, according to her pet store papers--as a result of her manx heritage, her tail is a little funny with a great big kink at the base, and another at the tip. Extra bones or somesuch? Whatever, it is she's a neat-looking little cat, as she's a ticked tortie (essentially a ticked tabby with some orange patches) and those wide green eyes.

I'm definitely in charge here, just so we're clear.
It only took a couple of days.
Now, established matriarch of the furry household I may be, but that doesn't mean I'm above chasing everyone around just for the fun of it. Turns out, Ziggy can definitely take a tackle every once and awhile. Even if I'm not exactly a feline quarterback, I can still get a good somersault in before ripping off again.
The dog's gotten braver the more time I spend around him, though. So our playtime is being cut short until I have him properly trained.
My people went on vacation! Two whole weeks I was home alone with just Ziggy and the girl who came to check on us. Jeez. I broke as much as I possibly could, believe you me.
That'll show them.
Well, I'm on a tight schedule, so I'll have to be back soon. Bye!

Well, I'm in an entirely new place, now.
This is wild.
I was an only child with a very sweet lady, but when everyone came to visit (they smelled a bit like her) it turned out I was going with them. What? So I was whisked away on an AIRPLANE (which are noisy, great things. boring, boring, boring. I went to sleep) and flew for an HOUR. That is a ridiculously long time for a feline with such a short attention span. You have no idea.
I am such the tragic heroine.
Back on track. Now I'm a place which is much, much less green and I haven't seen a drop of rain. I've been here a whole day. Well, almost. Added up. Anyway, it's ludicrous. And, that much besides, I AM NO LONGER AN ONLY CHILD. I know. Call the press. The things I'm putting up with here; there's an extremely cranky old tom cat who needs to get his stuff together. Truth be told, I'm a little scared of him. He's got to be three times my size, but not remarkably fat.
More interesting, though--there's a dog! The cat--Ziggy--may be grumpy, but once I've taught this dog some manners, I think we could get to be friends. Oh yes. The people are pretty neat and all, but once you've seen one naked two-legger you've seen them all, really. I'm more than willing to share a lap, but I'm being selective about my petting schedule; keeping them on their toes, you know.
Well, I'm over and out.
