Okay before everything gets too serious this weekend with this storm let's play!
Name a song title with the word hurricane or storm in it OR a song title to do with weather. I'll start:
You are like a hurricane (Neil Young)
Riding the storm out (REO speedwagon)
Against the wind (bob seger)
Dust in the wind (Kansas)
All old songs I know. These are the ones mom thought of.
Rock you like a Hurricane (Scorpians)
Blowing in the Wind (Bob Dylan)
Windy (The Association)
I think I likie the brown bag songs better! MOL!!
DOH! I was gonna put that one Tigger, The Scorpions. Where is everyfur tonight? Oh well. Suddenly in the morning I'll have 2000 emails. MOL. Henry what? What brown bag songs? MOL. That's a furry cute picture of you King Henry.
We were wondering where everyfur was tonight too. :) Hi Henry!
Maybe they're all getting ready for the hurricane like I suggested they do! MOL.
I hope they will be okay! Purring for all those in the path of the hurricane.
Riders on the Storm - The Doors
Good one Jez. Mom used to LOVE the doors. Light my fire was her favorite one from them.
Lets see: Rainy days and Mondays always bring me down - the carpenters
Getting ready for a Hurricane. Lacey, We Don't Get Those In London. However, Brilliant Advice None The Less. MOL!
Hi Chloe, we haven't had one here in New England in 20 years. This one is headed straight for my city.
I didn't know it was headed straight for you Lacey!
That old classic - Stormy Weather
Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head
It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls!
Singing in the Rain
Panic at the Disco - Hurricane
Bob Dylan - Hurricane
30 seconds to Mars - Hurricane
Hunter Hayes- Storm Warning
R. Kelly - The Storm is over now
Scorpions - Wind of Change
You know what Shadow? I'd forgotten that Winds of Change song and that's always been one of my favorites. A lot of times for those old 80s bands, it's the songs that WEREN'T hits that were so pawsome.
Nothing to do with storms but one of our favorite songs by the band Boston is "A man I'll never be". It's a powerful song and now very poignant since the lead singer committed suicide several years ago. He lived here only two towns over and mom knew him.
Anyways, we're having trouble thinking right now. Mom was up ALL night, here on Catster actually! It was weird, seemed no one could sleep!
blowin in the wind- peter, paul and mary
blue eyes cryin in the rain- willie neslon
colours of the wind- vanessa williams
Come on, Irene (really Come on, Eileen) - Dexys Midnight Runners
Rhythm of the Falling Rain -- The Cascades
(Jezebel beat me to it: Riders on the Storm -- The Doors)
I was gonna say Scorpions, but:
Rain on the Roof - Lovin' Spoonful
The Wind Cries Mary- Jimmy Hendrix
I Can't Stand the Rain- AnnPeebles
Knock on Wood-Eddie Floyd ("thunder, lightning- The way you love me is frightening"
I know there's a billion more!!!
MOL Musical Woozical! I can't even think of any now! Isn't that awful!?
"Ooooooooooh Here I YAM!!! Rocked you like a hurrica-cay-yane!"
I think the Every Bros. did "I'll do my Cryin' in the Rain", and Dylan has
"Rainy Day Women"- although I don't remember any "rain" lyrics...
did I say Roxy Music- "Like a hurricane"?
So far in Bklyn- just some regular ol' rain, a little thunder...we'll see! Gita went to buy candles this AM, and all they had left were SCENTED- PeeYEW!!
