Arrival Story:
As a lifelong avid "dog person," I decided to take the plunge and get my first kitten. I looked at my local Humane Society first, but they had far too many rules for my taste. I answered an ad in the paper for "free kittens." I was expecting that someone's cat had a litter, but in fact, it was a lady who worked at an animal hospital. When people dropped off kittens, she took them home and nursed them to save them from her boss' threat of euthanization (I hope people learn of this and boycott him). Anyway, this lady lived on a rural patch of land straight out of Deliverance, but she truly was an angel disguised as a Daughter of Dixie. There were many kittens to choose from. I had originally wanted an orange tabby cat, but immediately gravitated towards Clementine. Since she was so young, I had to wait 4 weeks to take her home. She is so sweet and is very loved.
