Excited Cats advocates for adopting before shopping, though we fully understand there are many reasons for seeking a breeder. So, we encourage it to be done the right way. We have not personally visited or investigated all of the breeders below. We have put the top-recommended all in one place for you to get in touch and make the best decision for you. Learn more about our stance and how to choose the right breeder here.

Persian cats are well-known across much of the world. Their round faces and short muzzles make them instantly recognizable. They are calm, affectionate felines that make excellent pets. Therefore, they are often considered among the most popular purebred cats today.

If you’re in Louisiana and looking for one of these cats, you’re in luck. A few breeders regularly produce Persian cat litters in this state.

The 3 Breeders in Louisiana

1. Nana’s Louisiana Persians

Bastrop, Louisiana

Nana’s Louisiana Persians produces high-quality Persian kittens that have undergone several health checks. All their kittens come with a health guarantee and all their first vaccinations. Their parents have also been tested negative for polycystic kidney disease, and a copy of that test result is provided with each kitten. Plus, all kittens are microchipped.

Like most catteries, this one does not always have kittens available. So, you’ll likely have to go on a waitlist. This cattery is Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA)-registered.

2. T-Minou

Sulphur, Louisiana

This cattery is CFA-registered and regularly produces litters of kittens. All kittens are raised in the home and handled from day one. The breeder only allows their kittens to go to new homes when they are 12 weeks old and weigh at least 2 pounds.

A vet sees all their kittens at 6 weeks of age, and they are up to date on their shots when they are sent to their new homes. Copies of their health records are provided upon adoption.

The breeder also performs the necessary genetic tests on the mother and father cats. They require a deposit to add you to their waiting list. They also offer various cat packages, which come with everything that your feline needs to get started in their new home.

3. Cats by Francy

Persian cats from Cats By Fancy have CFA or ACA bloodlines and are DNA tested to ensure they don’t have cardiomyopathy, polycystic kidney disease, or retinal atrophy. Kittens can’t be adopted until they are 8 weeks old, but they have champion pedigree cats available. All their cats are dewormed and receive flea-preventative treatments to keep them healthy

If you are also interested in locating Siamese breeders in the state, here are a few breeders that regularly produce Siamese cats.
