New roommates can either be great or awful. There’s always that period of time when you’re not exactly sure how the entire living situation will go.
Will the new roomie secretly eat your ice cream? Will he or she think your singing in the shower is weird and upsetting? So much of the future relationship depends on these first few days, with compromises often being made by both parties.
New living can become even more complex when pets are in the mix, as cats often need extra care and attention when being introduced to a new kitty friend.
That’s why we’re delighted to see that not only does the fabulous and fluffy Maru have a new, adorable roommate, but the two cats look to be getting along famously in these photos!
The new roommate ÔÇô- which we believe is named Chibi cat -ÔÇô is an adorable two-month-old kitten taken in by Maru’s family.
Google Translate has done some funny things with the wording, but with some connecting of the dots, we’ve concluded that the two cats are as happy as any two roomies can be.
I mean, look in the photo at the way Maru is sniffing the kitten — he’s either wondering whether the new guy is something to eat, or he’s found the ultimate best friend (we’re hoping it’s the latter).
The cuteness, as with all things with Maru, is in full overload mode now that there are two cats. We especially love this one-liner from Maru’s parents written on their blog: "Sleep until morning in the box of one."
One box, two adorable cats? You mean, when this family wakes up they find Maru snuggled in with a kitten in the infamous Amazon box? It’s almost too good to be true.
This photo of them playing is just fantastic. Maru’s parents say that they are happy to see that the six-year old-cat, who has grown up as a single pet, has the energy and patience to love a kitten. They love to chase each other, take naps in boxes, and cuddle.
Are Maru and Chibi the best new roomies, ever?
