170 Calico Cat Names: Great Ideas for Your Elegant Cat

Calico Cat Names

Many people name their cats after what they look like or act like. If your cat is solid-colored or even striped, for example, it can be easy to come up with a whole list of possible names for them. On the other hand, calico cats are a little bit different, as they typically have three different colors in their coats, and no two calico cats are alike.

So, it can be hard choosing calico cat names based solely on their appearance. Plus, 99% of calico cats are female, which can somewhat limit the list of names you can choose from if you want one that fits your calico’s personality, which is often spunky and diva-like compared to other cats.

But don’t worry, you don’t have to come up with names for calico cats off the top of your head. We’ve compiled a list of 180 calico cat names that we think might fit your calico cat’s elegant personality and appearance perfectly. You can choose from names that fit your cat’s color pattern, cute names, and even some pretty unique names as well. Let’s take a closer look!

How to Name Your Calico Cat

One of the best things that you can do when choosing a name for your calico cat is to take the time to get to know your feline. You don’t have to decide on a name the very day that you bring your cat home. After all, you don’t want to choose a name too hastily only to find out that the name doesn’t fit your cat’s personality at all.

Your calico cat likely isn’t going to learn her name right away anyway, so it’s okay if you take a week or so to decide on a name. If you still can’t decide on a name, take both your cat’s personality and appearance into account.

Maybe your calico cat is a diva and needs a unique or sassy name that fits their spunky personality. Or maybe your cat is sweet or lovable, so you want to choose a name that fits that aspect of their personality. Or, if your calico cat is mostly orange, for example, choose an orange-themed name.

And remember that, ultimately, your cat doesn’t care what you call them as long as they feel like they’re loved and taken care of. If you know anything about cats, you know that they likely won’t come when they’re called anyway. Feel free to draw a name from your own likes or favorite things if you can’t choose a name based on your cat’s personality or appearance.
