Catster advocates for adopting before shopping, though we fully understand there are many reasons for seeking a breeder. So, we encourage it to be done the right way. We have not personally visited or investigated all of the breeders below. We have put the top-recommended all in one place for you to get in touch and make the best decision for you. Learn more about our stance and how to choose the right breeder here.

Ragdolls are beautiful cats that make affectionate and loving family pets. They get their name because they tend to go limp and flop down whenever you pick them up, resembling a ragdoll. That is just part of their unique personality!

They’ve been compared to puppies due to their energy levels and love of people. Their silky coats and huge blue eyes make them irresistible to cat lovers everywhere. As kittens, they’re playful and loving, bonding with their owners and following them around everywhere they go. Their gentle natures make them ideal for families with children.

If you’re looking for a Ragdoll breeder in Illinois, it’s important to only choose one that is responsible and concerned about the health and safety of the animals. Illinois has a few reputable breeders to check out if you’re looking for a Ragdoll kitten to add to your home. If they don’t have a kitten that you’re looking for, they may be able to direct you to someone who does. Browse them to start the search for your new best friend.

The 3 Ragdoll Kitten Breeders in Illinois

1. Midwest Ragdolls

Midwest Ragdolls

📍 Geneva, IL

The kittens from this breeder are socialized from the moment that they’re born. They are raised with adults, kids, dogs, and other cats in an active environment. The cats are all health tested before breeding, including being checked by a cardiologist.

Every kitten comes with a written health guarantee. The breeder is a practicing veterinarian, and she uses her knowledge to help other breeders and by speaking at cat shows and lectures.

2. NinaDeDrap Ragdoll Cattery

NinaDeDrap Ragdoll Cattery

📍 Lakemoor, IL

All the kittens at this cattery are raised strictly indoors. They interact with the family daily, playing with children and enjoying the full run of the house. Since they are being raised as family pets, they’ll be able to easily adjust to a new home.

By the time the kittens are old enough for purchase, they’ve already had two veterinary exams and their necessary age-appropriate vaccinations. Each kitten is sold already spayed or neutered and receives TICA pedigree documentation.

3. Chicago Ragdolls

Chicago Ragdolls

📍 Orland Park, IL

The Chicago Ragdolls kittens don’t go to new homes until they are 12 weeks old, ensuring that they are properly socialized through sufficient time with their mother and siblings. You can meet the kitten of your choosing when they are 6 weeks old and put a deposit down for them at that time.

Each kitten will have their vaccinations, deworming, and an examination by a veterinarian prior to purchasing. Each parent cat is genetically health tested before breeding, and the kittens come with a 3-year genetic health guarantee.
