Catster advocates for adopting before shopping, though we fully understand there are many reasons for seeking a breeder. So, we encourage it to be done the right way. We have not personally visited or investigated all of the breeders below. We have put the top-recommended all in one place for you to get in touch and make the best decision for you. Learn more about our stance and how to choose the right breeder here.

Persians are among the most popular cat breeds around, and it’s not hard to see why; they’re gorgeous, lovable, and incredibly intelligent. However, they’re also hard to find, and if you’re looking for a trustworthy breeder in Texas, you may get understandably frustrated by your search.

You don’t have to stay that way, however. There are plenty of reputable breeders in the state, and we’ve put together a list of the best ones here.

The 7 Persian Kitten Breeders in Texas

1. Kitty Cature

📍 McKinney, TX

Near Dallas, Kitty Cature is a Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA)-registered cattery that never inbreeds or line-breeds. Their primary focus is on breeding happy, well-adjusted cats, and to that end, they give their cats free rein of their house while lavishing them with affection.

Not only are the kittens given plenty of love and attention, but they’re also provided with several toys to stimulate their minds and improve their motor skills, ensuring that your new pet will grow up to be healthy both inside and out.

2. Steamboat Cattery

📍 Abilene, TX

If you’re looking for a cat to show, Steamboat Cattery should be your first stop. They breed kittens from lines of national and breed winners, and their bloodlines come from some of the most celebrated champions in the world.

Even if you want a pet, you can still look here. Their animals are all friendly and outgoing, and any of them will make a wonderful addition to your family.

3. Burton’s Persians

📍 Burnet, TX

Burton’s Persians has the tagline, “Kittens with Purr-sonality,” so you know you’ll get an outgoing and gregarious pet from them. They strive to breed cats with sweet temperaments, and each cat is thoroughly socialized before being handed over to their new home.

In addition to Persians, they also have Himalayans and Exotic Shorthairs. Regardless of the breed, the cats are fed premium food and litter-trained using corn litter, which is safe if accidentally ingested.

4. Kitten Candy Persians

📍 Nacogdoches, TX

With a focus on white and chocolate Persians, Kitten Candy Persians is a home-based cattery outside Houston. Not only are their cats raised in a cage-free environment, but they also have an incredible playroom designed specifically for their kittens.

Once they reach about 6 weeks, they are taken to a veterinarian specializing in Persians, ensuring that your new best friend will get the best medical care possible. They’re checked to ensure feline immunodeficiency virus/leukemia negativity, given fecal tests to prove they’re parasite-free, and started on their shots.

5. Sullivan Blu

📍 Gonzales, TX

The breeders at Sullivan Blu spend quite a bit of time with their kittens to make sure they have sweet personalities, and the fact that they’re raised in a cage-free environment ensures that they get plenty of one-on-one time.

As soon as the cats are born, the breeders spend hours teaching them how to use a litter box, accept a wide range of foods, and use scratching posts. Your new cat will be ready to blend in with your family, with only a little adjustment required.

6. Tiny Persians

📍 McKinney, TX

As the name implies, Tiny Persians breeds small to standard-sized Persians in various colors and patterns. Unlike many teacup Persian breeders, this cattery goes to great lengths to ensure their animals are healthy and free of genetic mutations.

They breed doll-faced Persians and traditional-looking silvers, and they produce multiple litters per year. Even so, there’s usually a waitlist for their animals, so if you want one of these adorable little cats, you shouldn’t wait.

7. Persian Kitten Pals

📍 Frisco, TX

Persian Kitten Pals is a CFA-registered cattery that breeds traditional doll-faced Persians. The kittens spend their first days in a nursery rather than a cage, and if you reserve one, you’ll get access to live kitty cams and weekly updates from the breeder.

The breeder also enjoys being a part of their cats’ lives after they leave the cattery, which shows how much they love and care for their animals. This also means they’ll be a bit more discerning about placement, so don’t be surprised if they go the extra mile to ensure that you know what you’re getting yourself into.
