Big Feline Cancer Research Donation

The Petco Foundation and the Blue Buffalo Company partnered to award a $250,000 grant to the Morris Animal Foundation, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing animal health. The gift will specifically fund studies on feline cancer, which is the second leading cause of death in cats. Current Morris Animal Foundation cat-specific studies underway include investigating new treatments for oral squamous cell carcinoma; researching a new imaging method to detect cancer cells left behind after surgical removal of injection-site sarcomas; and sequencing the feline genome.
