Tiki Cat Food Reviewed 2Tiki Cat Born Carnivore Low Carb Grain Free Dry Cat Food - Baked with Fresh Meat

Tiki Cat has a variety of different food recipes to choose from that can be easily interchanged without affecting your cat’s digestive system. Choose from several flavors of Tiki Cat wet food, multiple flavors of dry food, and various options made just for kittens. Tiki Cat also offers a lickable mousseline that is perfect for cats that don’t have many teeth, although all ages seem to enjoy it. Savory broth Tiki Cat treats are also available and can be served alone as snacks or used to hydrate dog food.

What’s unique about Tiki Cat is that, unlike other brands that include grains, because they’re an inexpensive source of energy, this company focuses on real meat, just like a cat would eat in the wild. Cats would not typically eat a cob of corn or chew on wheat as it grows. They would hunt for animal prey and consume most of the body, then call it a day. So, Tiki Cat leaves the fillers out and focuses on the meat.

All the formulas are designed to be gentle on a cat’s digestive system, which is helpful for kittens just learning to eat whole food and older cats that might have health problems. The packaging is different for each line of food they offer. Some come in cans, others come in pouches, and still others come in bags. Therefore, it’s easy to customize your cat food choice to your packaging and storage preferences.

The downsides of this brand include the fact that it’s a little more expensive than many of the other options on the market, and it can be tough to differentiate recipes from one another. For example, the broth snacks and mousse meals can be confused for one another. But once one gets used to the different recipes, the confusion quickly dissipates.

Who Makes Tiki Cat and Where Is It Produced?

The Tiki Pets brand (which makes Tiki Cats) was originally owned by a company named Petropics. However, the company merged with another, named Cloud Star, to create the new producer of Tiki Cat, Whitebridge Pet Brands. The food itself is produced in Thailand processing plants that meet international human food production standards. The company strives to source ingredients as close to its processing plants as possible, like the Thai fish that it sources from fisheries that are in good standing with the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation.

Which Types of Pets Is Tiki Cat Food Best Suited For?

Although Tiki Cat is suitable only for cats, the Tiki Pets brand does produce a food line made for dogs, too. The company’s cat food line is suitable for cats of all ages, from kittens to seniors. It even offers food, especially for kittens. Thanks to the various texture options, owners should find it easy to meet the needs of their cat, no matter the cat’s age or health condition.

Discussion of the Primary Ingredients (Good and Bad)

There aren’t a ton of different ingredients included in Tiki Cat food recipes because animal protein is the main focus. There is no corn, wheat, or other fillers found on the ingredients list, but there are healthy carbohydrates such as chickpeas and peas. Ground flaxseed is also a common ingredient in the Tiki Cat line of pet food to provide important omega fatty acids. The most common ingredients found in this food line include:

    • Tuna
    • Chicken
    • Chicken liver
    • Sunflower oil

This brand never uses artificial colors or flavors. Also, animal by-products are not found on the ingredients list. Overall, this is a food made of high-quality ingredients that cat owners can feel good about feeding their feline family members.

    • WHISKER FRIENDLY - Shallow and wide metal containers with flat bottoms ensure your kitty can enjoy...
    • CHEW-SAFE MATERIALS - Kittens and cats love chewing on silicone and soft rubber - but it's a choking...

Feeding your cat a high-quality diet is important for keeping them healthy and happy. But it goes beyond the food you choose; the dishes they use also matter. The Hepper NomNom Cat Bowl is our favorite for its unique, five-star design that protects from whisker fatigue and promotes good posture which also aids in better digestion. As an added bonus, it’s beautifully crafted and offers a modern take on the traditional cat bowl that fits seamlessly with all home stylings. Learn more about the NomNom by clicking here.

At Catster, we’ve admired Hepper for many years and decided to take a controlling ownership interest so that we could benefit from the outstanding designs of this cool cat company!

Reviews of the 3 Best Tiki Cat Food Recipes

    1. Tiki Cat Born Carnivore Dry Chicken Luau Cat Food

Tiki Cat Born Carnivore Dry Food

With real chicken as the first ingredient, most cats can’t resist digging into a bowl of this stellar dry cat food. Like the other recipes in this brand’s lineup, Tiki Cat Born Carnivore dry chicken luau food never has grains or by-products in it. The kibble pieces are nice and small, making it easy for even young kittens to chew. This food can always be paired with the brand’s lickable broth to hydrate and soften it if necessary.

The packaging is thick and easy to fold closed between uses, so there is no worry about the food getting exposed to moisture and other elements. This formula is lightly baked to preserve as many nutrients as possible. It’s a completely balanced nutrition suitable for all life stages, so there is no need to switch foods as time goes on.

    Pros
    • The packaging is easy to open and store
    • Formulated for all life stages
    • Lightly baked to preserve nutrients
    Cons
    • Crunchy texture may be too dry for some cats

    2. Tiki Cat Grill Grain-Free Sardine and Lobster Wet Food

    Tiki Cat Grain-Free Wet Food

Made of sardines and lobster broth, Tiki Cat Grill Grain-Free Sardine and Lobster food is a Tiki Cat wet food that comes in 2.8-ounce cans that can be served at once or split into two separate meals for the day. The tops are easy to open, and the food doesn’t stick to the sides of the can when extracting it. However, storing any food that is left over after opening a can isn’t convenient, as the tops are not resealable.

The food itself features real chunks of sardines smothered in a rich seafood gravy that is full of nutrition. The result is more like a stew than a pâté or cubed food that many other companies produce and offer. This recipe meets the nutrition levels that the AAFCO recommends for all life stages.

    Pros
    • Made with real sardine chunks and lobster broth
    • Suitable for kittens, adults, and seniors
    • Includes no artificial flavors or colors
    Cons
    • The cans are not resealable, making storage inconvenient

    3. Tiki Cats Velvet Chicken Mousse Wet Food

    Tiki Cat Grain-Free Velvet Mousse

This is a smooth formula that is easy for cats to lick up instead of chew, making it a great choice for young kittens that are still growing teeth, older cats that are losing teeth, and cats that are ill or without an appetite, although cats of all ages can enjoy this food without sacrificing nutrition. Chicken and dried egg make up the bulk of Tiki Cats Velvet Chicken Mousse, with no grains or plant ingredients included.

This mousse comes in convenient pouches that you simply tear open and empty into a bowl. The cat will do the rest. Leftovers stay good in the fridge for a day or two, but they must be stored in a completely different container. Overall, this is a great option for cats that don’t like dry food and can’t eat chunks of real meat like what is found in this line’s Tiki Cat wet foods.

    Pros
    • Smooth and easy to eat without chewing
    • Comes in convenient pouches
    • No grains or by-products are included
    Cons
    • Some cats may not like the lack of texture

    What Are Other Users Saying?

    • Catological — “Above average protein content.”
    • Amazon — As pet owners, we always check out Amazon reviews from other cat food customers before investing in anything. You can check Tiki Cat reviews for yourself here.
