Arrival Story:
After I adopted Sparkle, I went in weekly to volunteer at the city pound. Nine months later,Vita came in on my birthday. She refused to let anyone touch her except me. She was then adopted by an older woman, and returned after 10 days as she kept fighting with the male cat in the house. Again, she only let me pet her, and take her out of her cage. It was meant to be! Then a virus was going through the cat room; I received a phone call at work, she did not have any symptoms yet, did I want to adopt her? They were going to have to stop adoptions until the virus cleared. I left work to collect her, and took her back to work with me for the rest of the day. Sadly, most of the cats died from that illness, it is very hard to control a virus in a pound setting. That is how she got her name, as I gave her life, and life in Italian is "vita."

Bio:
Vita was found roaming the streets. She had not been spayed. She was quite used to being in a house, and I think her owner passed and the family just kicked her out. She is very affectionate! Vita is a petite lady, and the smallest of the adult sized cats here. Nevertheless. Vita is the Queen in this Clowder, and she insists that all the other cats respect her! It is quite common for Vita to chase a cat out of "HER" pet bed (which may be any one of the 7 in the house) even though she doesn't want to use it, just to emphasize that it is HERS, and she is QUEEN. Quite comical! Feb 2009, Vita was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She did not respond to meds and continued to lose weight until she was down to 5 pounds. She was helped to Rainbow Bridge on August 17, 2009. Goodby, Sweet Vita!
