Arrival Story:
When Sebastian got older, I decided he needed a friend, because Sebastian had always been raised around other cats. I thought he might be lonely. Right before New Year's 1999 I went to the SPCA to look at the cats they had. I really wanted a kitten, but all of the kittens were adopted out and just waiting to be picked up and taken to their forever homes. I went to look at the older kitties and they had a BEAUTIFUL orangey there, but he was a 'one cat only' sort of cat so I couldn't take him either. I went to the last cage and there was a little striped cat sleeping. I tapped on the window and he looked up at me and then ran over to the window and stood on his hind legs putting his paw where my hand was. I knew he was the cat I had to have. It wasn't easy. Nobody seemed to know which cat he was or what his name was. I'm almost sure somebody at the SPCA was going to try and take him for themselves. I did some digging and after reading all the names on the cards on the different cages, I came across one that read "Maverick, brown tabby, 3 years old". I put my bid in for him and waited to be called back to pick up what would hopefully be my kitty. Three days later they called and told me to come and get him. He's been with me every since. He was a little standoffish at first - I'm not sure how he was treated in the first three years of his life, but he was well fed and he was well mannered. Now, he's just a big love bug, even moreso since his little brother Huddy arrived.
