"Miss Midnight, the friendliest of our ferals, in a bush. She hangs out in the windowsill a lot. Her eyes led the Nice Food Lady to Radley in the dark when she ran away (see Radley's bio). She would have never found Radley had it not been for these eyes."

Coloration: Black
Likes: Hanging with each other, the sun, dead vermin (we ALL tear up the same prey)
Pet-Peeves: mean neighbors that have us taken away, ridiculous orange cats in windows, harsh weather
Favorite Toy: what are toys?
Favorite Nap Spot: on the patio furniture, up in trees (Charlie), anywhere in the sun (Lefty), under the grill / in the window (Midnight), in the flowerpots (Nero)
Favorite Food: kitten chow, anything canned, bluejays
Skills: hunting and climbing. Charlie's the best climber. Lefty used to be, until she fell out of a tree and hurt her arm, hence our 'disabled' denotation, and her name. Charlie's also the best hunter, and Nero is a close 2nd in both. Midnight saved radley!

Arrival Story: We've always lived here. We used to have a big family, but now it's just the eight of us, with Swayback and Patches, as well as Tina and Loudmouth, who drop in. We're ferals, and we belong to IndyFeral, so we're fixed, vaccinated, and ear-tipped, and protected by city ordinance. It's totally the way to go. This way, our horrible neighbors can trap us and have us taken away by Animal Control all they want, and the nice ladies from Indy Feral just bring us right back the next day. Once, a lady was returning Swayback, and she saw Patches in a trap, so she let her go before Animal Control even got to her. She saved herself (and Patches) a trip, and the taxpayers about $200. They're seriously downass people, and we probably owe them our lives.
Bio: We finally decided to pose for the nice food lady so she could get some shots of us. We wanted a page like Patches, but she said that we had to pose for some pictures first, so we agreed. Also, she figured out the zoom on her camera, so the shots are way better. Check out Patches' new primary photo! She actually posed. Anyway, we three hang together a lot, especially Charlie and Lefty. Midnight spends a lot of time in the kitchen window (see radley's page) and under the grill. We just lost our Blackie brother, Gimpy (aka Gimpster), but he was severely handicapped and Indy Feral had done all they could for him, so he's much happier at the Bridge, where he can run and climb and hunt, and he doesn't shake and twitch. We, Charlie and Lefty, are the most feral of all of us ferals, in that we're the most afraid of people. Midnight finds them and their indoor cats rather intriguing, if only peripherally. Also, we're distantly related to Oreo. ***New: Nero the Ninja. He was gone for over a year, and now he's here all the time. He's hard to tell apart from Charlie.***

background:
Feral Favorite: He's a nice guy, but a tough guy, and a cutie, even though he kind of looks like that orange cat in the window, Radley. Except we don't laugh at Orange Man.
Feral Favorite: He's the ultimate feral guy, and he looks like a big, Fuzzy Cookman, which we love. He's a great friend to Cookie, and we will miss him a lot, but we know that he is watching over us ferals, sending us good vibes and purring for nice weather.
Feral Favorite: Fuzzy's daughter, and our feral buddy. She's an Indian Princess.

Our Seven Facts
By Charlie, Lefty, Midnight, and Nero
1) We are Nice Food Lady's best models, especially Midnight, who doesn't mind getting close to her. She gets 10 good Blackie shots for every good shot of another cat. Usually she comes out with the camera to try to get pics of Tina, Loudmouth, or Patches (the shy ones), and she ends up with a bunch of pics of us and Swayback.
2) We used to be hardcore night owls, but now we're out and about most of time, day and night.
3) Because we used to be such nightowls, we're far less afraid of the raccoons than the other ferals. We keep some distance between them and us, but we don't run and hide from them like Patches and Swayback.
4) The Nice Food Lady can't tell Charlie and Nero apart. She figures, if he's with Lefty, it's Charlie, if he's solo, it's Nero.
5) Midnight saved radley when she was stuck in a tree. You may have known this already, but we think it bears repeating. She led the Nice Food Lady to her in the dark. She would have never seen her way up in that tree had Midnight not come along and shown her where the mewing was coming from.
6) Charlie and Lefty are BFFs, but Midnight and Nero are loners. That's just how they roll. Typically, at night, it's Charlie and Lefty in one cathouse, Patches and Swayback in the other, Midnight in the windowsill, and Nero on his lounge chair, or under the table on the patio. Nero even lived on his own, we assume, that whole year he was gone.
7) We were recently Buds of the Day in Navin and Buds.
Charlie here. I had a good day yesterday. We got a brief break in the yucky weather with some sunshine and 50 degrees yesterday. Swayback, Patches, Midnight, Lefty, and I were all sprawled out on the patio, trying to soak up all the sun we could before the nasty weather came back. I noticed a bluejay in a tree, and made a jump for it. I caught him by the tip of his wing, just barely enough to hold onto him. He was thrashing around, so I pinned him down and took a big bite out of his neck, mostly feathers. He got away, but he was injured, and by this time there were 6 cats at attention and a dog barking his head off behind the fence nextdoor. He couldn't fly too high, so he perched on a tree limb, and I got him again! I am such a good jumper. I pinned him again, and we all went to work tearing him up, strewing feathers all over the yard. Sorry to be so graphic, but we hate those bluejays. They're loud and they're bullies, plus they usually fly too high to catch, but low enough to harass us. The only animals we ever really catch are chipmunks and the occasional cardinal. It was fun to get to prove myself like that. Then we went back to lying in the sun.
Yes. Four. I guess one of our bros is transient. The nice food lady saw us yesterday morning. She hadn't seen four Blackies since Gimpy died. She can't tell Lefty and Charlie apart unless they're walking, so she can see Lefty's little pimp walk. I, Midnight, am the only one she ever gets to see up close, since I hang out in the window and don't run away when she brings me food. How about Nero for his name? I think it's a him because he's big, like Lefty and Charlie. He's ear-tipped, so he's old school. He must have just found another food source elsewhere. Maybe he's here all the time, but really reclusive. Maybe he's like Miss Loudmouth, who's also ear-tipped. We always think she's a gonner because we won't see her for 2 months, then she'll show up for a day or 2 and meow in the window really loudly for hours (even though she's fixed, so she's not in heat, and she has food to eat).
Also, it snowed. We hadn't had hardly any snow yet this winter, and we got about 2 inches last night. Only an inch stuck. We forgot all about that stuff. The sun came out, too, so it might melt. Patches and Swayback haven't come out of their cathouses yet today. It's 24 degrees right now. Why is there not a 'degrees' symbol on my keyboard, like a SHIFT + NUMBER thing? That's stupid.
