Arrival Story:
My parents got him from the Elmsford Humane Society as a surprise Christmas present for me. He was tiny and adorable. He grew and grew and grew into a huge 20 lb. cat. He wasn't fat, just BIG. He was a complete mush, gentle and affectionate. He was my best friend and constant companion from the time I was 5 until I was 22, when he went to the Bridge.

Bio:
Specky was the gentlest cat I've ever known. He let little kids "play" with him, pulling his tail and ears. He'd sit there purring, til he'd had enough, then he'd just get up and leave. He even allowed himself to be dressed in doll clothes! (No hats, though.) He was quite the hunter when he was young, and once left a live (and completely unhurt) little bunny on my bed as a "gift" for me. (We let the bunny go, of course!) After he was "fixed", Specky became a stay-at-home cat who loved to sit on the window sill and watch the world outside.

My Tail of Devotion for Specky (In Loving Memory)

You came to me when I was 5, and you were a tiny kitten. We grew up together. You were my dearest friend in those days. You provided company and comfort to an often lonely, only child. You were the biggest, most gentle cat I've ever known. Because of you, animals will always be part of my life.

This is a special Tail of Devotion
