Arrival Story: About a year after my sweet Sally crossed the bridge, I was "just looking" at adoptable kitties on Petfinder. I came across Leo and just fell in love. After some emails with the rescue organization, I went down to Tucson to meet Leo and his brother Charlie. I couldn't stand to separate them and leave Charlie behind. With lots of thought (and some support from Catster friends!) I made the decision to adopt Leo AND Charlie. They came home on June 13th, 2009.
Bio: When Charlie and Leo were about 2-3 weeks old, someone brought them into a vet's office in a shoebox. The vet couldn't take them and the person was headed to a local kill shelter to drop them off. A woman in the vet's waiting room offered to take them. She bottle fed them for 3 weeks and then they were taken in by their foster mother who provided loving care until they were ready to be adopted and come home with me!

I am special: One day, when I was 6 months old, I couldn't jump any more. The ER vet thought I had a muscle strain. I didn't get better so we went back to the vet. She was very worried and ran lots of tests. Maybe FIP, maybe bone disease, maybe Toxoplasmosis, but no one knew for sure. Two days later, I was no longer able to stand or walk or use the litterbox. And then I stopped eating. It was very scary. I saw another vet. She referred me to a neurologist. He did a spinal tap and special electrophysiological testing and diagnosed me with peripheral neuropathy (possibly immune-mediated). That means that my brain's messages to the nerves in my legs weren't working right. I started on special medicine and am getting better! The power of the paw and all of the purrs from my Catster friends is what made the difference! I love you kitties!
Guess what? I'm one of Samoa's Dreamboats-in-training! My feisty brother Charlie was named as a Dreamboat-in-training, too! I'm so honored! I just adore Samoa; how sweet of her to think of this little lovebug! Thanks, Samoa!
I also wanted to let my kitty friends know that our sweet doggie Sophie is feeling better today. Lucy wrote yesterday about how Sophie had a scary episode. Although she had two more last night, they lasted less than 15 seconds compared to almost 5 minutes of the first episode. She hasn't had any more today and she's up and moving around and eating lots today; she feels better! It definitely seems to have been a reaction to her medication and now that medicine seems to be out of her system. Thanks for all your purrs!
I've been tagged to play the Valentine Tag by friends Mea- Angel and Lulu!
1. Do you have a Valentine?... If so... who?
My Mommy. I love her! I love my Auntie Em, too! Happy Valentine's Day, Auntie Em!
2. If not... do you wish you did? ... Is there anyone particular?... Or would you rather be single? ...Why?
My Catster girl-kitten friends are very sweet and adorable but my heart belongs to my mommy. And my paws are tied; no dating until age 21 just like Calvin advised!
3.What's your favorite Love Song?... Who sings it?
I'm a lovebug, I love everything! I like when my mommy makes up silly songs to sing to me.
4.What would be a Perfect Valentines Day for you?
Kneading, purring, drooling, smooching, and loving on my mommy, all day long. With a couple of breaks for some yummy food and a game of fetch!
My valentine is my mommy (of course)! I love my mommy so much (except when she wears her fuzzy purple slippers- then she's scary)! I like to snuggle with her, I like to give her sweet headbonks as well as persistent and firm headbonks. I like to knead on her and I'm a big drooly bug, drooling all over her!
I also give mommy kisses! This is how it works: If I am near Mommy, and that's almost every second she's home, and she makes eye contact with me and puckers her lips, I lean in and push my lips on hers! That's right, I give her smoochies! Okay, sometimes I just sniff her lips but other times, definitely smoochies!
