<content:encoded><![CDATA[ First of all, I want to express my heartfelt love and thanks to all of our dear Catster friends for the outpouring of purrs, POTP, and support for my sweet boy Tully who has been critically ill in the ICU since Saturday. He has a condition called pyothorax which refers to pus in the chest cavity caused by a bacterial infection. We have no idea how he got this. The vet said it can be caused by ingesting or inhaling a foreign body such as grass seed, a penetrating wound to the chest wall, a migrating foreign body that enters the body elsewhere, or an extension of an infection from the lung. It’s very difficult to determine the cause of this from what I have read.

After I posted in Tully’s diary yesterday, I received a call from the vet saying that she wanted to insert a second chest tube on his left side. They were not able to pull enough fluid off from the side that already had the chest tube and the x-ray taken yesterday showed that the pus had shifted to the other side of the chest and was filling both sides of his pleural cavity. He was having increasing respiratory distress and his white blood cell count was climbing. That was an unexpected set back and made me very scared that he may not be able to recover from the bacterial infection that was invading his little body. The vet was very encouraging and said she had seen many cats recover from this illness, so that gave me hope. She thought Tully was young and healthy enough that he could still pull through this and she believed that the second chest tube would make all the difference. I agreed to have another chest tube inserted on the other side. She called me back about 45 minutes later after the second tube was in and said they drained “a lot of gunk” from the left side. He was in recovery and said I could come by and visit him later.

My husband and I went to see him around 5 p.m. yesterday and when we greeted him in his cage the poor little guy looked exhausted but reasonably comfortable. His belly is shaved and there are tubes everywhere. Of course he is getting pain meds, so that helps to keep him comfortable. I kissed him on the head and told him I’d be back to check on him today. He’s been through so much since Friday and needed to get some rest. They were draining his tubes every 4 hours and syringe feeding him a few times a day him so I’m sure he was worn out.

When I went and visited Tully today over my lunch break, he purred very loudly while I stroked his neck. His eyes are clearer and he is starting to act more like his normal self. He’s still not eating on his own but he takes his syringe feedings very well and is getting nutrition. He’s a very finicky eater even at home and the stress of being hospitalized doesn’t help. I’m going to take him some of his favorite food and treats tonight when I visit and see if I can encourage him to eat. The vet came and spoke with me while I was there today and said things were “heading in the right direction” so that was very encouraging. The fluid they are pulling off his lungs is looking clearer with less “gunk” in it so hopefully the infection is clearing up.

Thank you again for all the healing purrs, POTP, and support. I’ve always been touched by the love and compassion of the Catster Community who always rally and support those who are sick and in need of purrs – thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Much love, Tully and Mom Kelly]]></content:encoded>

My ...</description>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Hello Furiends. I am very sick right now and being treated in the ICU. I’ll let Mom explain:

My beautiful boy Tully, who has never been sick a day in his life, suddenly stopped eating last week and became increasingly lethargic. I took him to the vet on Friday and found he was running a fever and had lost some weight since his last vet visit in December. The vet did a complete physical exam and didn’t find anything significant in his belly, heart, or lungs. I had a similar experience with Luke last December when he stopped eating and was lethargic for about a week and he eventually improved on his own with fluids and antibiotics. We never knew the cause. The vet called it “fever of unknown origin” and said with Tully we could initially treat conservatively and see if he improved over the next 24 hours. I made an appointment for the following morning in case he was not any better and took him home.

Tully did perk up after being given fluids and an anti-inflammatory drug Friday morning and for most of the day he seemed better. He even ate a little food which was encouraging. However, he threw up after I gave him the antibiotic and was more lethargic again in the evening. I syringe fed him a little baby food and crushed up ½ Pepcid tablet hoping it would help his appetite and encourage him to eat. He slept all night on the cat tree with Natasha curled up by his side (she adores Tully) and since he did not seem any better Saturday morning I took him back to the vet.

A different vet saw him this time, and did a complete exam again. His fever was a little lower (103 down from 104 the previous day). She felt his lower abdomen was slightly tender so we did an abdominal ultrasound. I was thinking that maybe he had pancreatitis, so I asked for the fPLI test along with the regular blood panel that was run. Since he had the abdominal ultrasound, they collected a sterile urine sample at the same time. Again, more subcutaneous fluids and an antiemetic were given and we were sent home with a different antibiotic. This time he did not seem to do as well as the day before and seemed kind of spacey and glassy eyed most of the day. Again, he threw up after the antibiotic. It was then that I noticed his breathing was becoming faster and he seemed to be in more distress. I got a bad feeling that he was going downhill very fast and called the vet. We went back in and this time she wanted to admit him overnight for observation. Because there was a change in his breathing from that morning, she also did a chest x-ray and another ultrasound of the lungs. That’s when she saw fluid on the right side of his chest cavity and said he needed to be admitted immediately for chest tube placement.

The medical term for his condition is pyothorax (a bacterial infection that develops in the chest cavity). There are a number of different causes, and from what I have read, the exact cause is rarely determined. If left untreated, it is usually fatal, which almost made my heart stop. How could my healthy boy get so ill so quickly? How did he get this?

I visited the ICU this morning, and Tully was awake and alert with the chest tube in but he is still very ill. He’s still not eating so they will start syringe feeding him today. I brought in his favorite canned food with some freeze dried chicken treats, but could not entice him to eat. They are irrigating the chest tube every 4 hours and getting purulent “gunk” out of his chest. He has a fentanyl patch on for pain management. He’s not out of the woods yet and will most likely need at least 5 days in the ICU. I can’t even think about the cost right now. When your cat’s life is at stake, you want to do everything possible to help him survive. He is a young cat and has no other health issues, so I am trying to stay positive. With early and aggressive treatment, most cats will survive, according to my vet. I am very fortunate to live about 5 minutes away from one of the best veterinary care centers in the SF Bay Area and I am confident that he is getting excellent care. The ICU is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, so I will be checking on him as often as possible. The vets are wonderful and call me to update me on his condition.

I wanted to post this in his diary because I believe strongly in power of the purr and prayers. Catster is a very special place full of love and support when kitties are ill. I will try and post any updates if there are changes. I am just waiting and praying that he pulls through this.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My little hunny bunny Xena Princess Warrier tagged me to play Spring Tag, so here it goes…

Five Things I Love About Spring:

1. Gardening with Mom. She usually lets me out in the backyard if she is pulling weeds, raking, or planting new garden stuff. I love to scamper around the yard while she’s out there with me and enjoy all the spring flowers and bugs.

2. Tasting our newly grown catnip plants ~ the leaves are young and usually most tasty in the Springtime.

3. Rolling around in the warm dirt or grass – feels great! I usually get brushed afterwards to remove all the twigs and leaves - double great!

4. Watching the sparrows build their nests from my front window cat perch.

5. Napping in sun puddles on the back porch or in the windows.

My favorite quote about Spring from Robin Williams:
Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"

Consider yourself tagged if you haven't yet played!

Well, some things haven’t changed, only now we are bigger balls of fur! Those days seem like only yesterday and Mom gets sad sometimes thinking about how fast the time goes. She cherishes every single day that she has with us and tells us every day how loved we are.

We will try and get around to thank everyone individually, but since this may take our typist a few days (or more) to accomplish, we wanted to make a quick list here in my diary so you know how much we appurrciate all the thoughtful gifts and messages. We want to meow our thanks to:

<description>a lady walked into a local pet food store where our rescue group was holding a kitty adoption fair. ...</description>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ a lady walked into a local pet food store where our rescue group was holding a kitty adoption fair. The lady walked towards the back of the store and looked into the cages full of cats. My brofur Luke and I were napping on the top perch inside one of the large cages. There were smaller kittens inside the cage with us running around and playing with each other. We were the oldest and biggest cats there, 7 months old at the time, and all we wanted to do was to nap in peace. This lady had met us the week before and decided she wanted to adopt us.

The lady, our soon-to-be new Mommy, started talking with our foster Mom who was with us at the adoption fair and then we saw her filling out some paperwork. We saw the lady go to the cash register with a case of cat food, a kitty condo, and some new toys. She took the stuff out to her car with the help of one of the sales people and then came back inside the store with a large kitty carrier. Our foster Mom pulled Luke and I out of the big cage and put us in the carrier. She handed us over to our new Mommy and we drove to our new forever home with her. It was Saturday, October 18.

Mom knew she was supposed to confine us to a small room for the first couple of days, but she made the mistake of putting us in her bedroom which she thought would be more comfortable for us. The room was too big and scary and we were small enough at that time that we could squeeze underneath the large bed frame and hide underneath the mattress. It was too small of a space for Mom to reach us and the bed frame was too heavy for her to move, so we spent the first night in our new home hiding underneath the bed. Mommy was upset about this and knew that she needed to get us out from underneath the bed, but she let us stay there for the first night. She put a bowl of food and water under the bed and a litterbox close by.

In the morning she lured us out with some treats and then confined us to the bathroom where we couldn’t hide. We had warm blankets on the floor, cat toys, food, water, and a litterbox and this is where we spent our second night. Mom would come in and play with us throughout the day and make sure we were okay. By the third day, we were really warming up to this lady and trusting her more and more so she let us back inside the bedroom. We ran around and explored the room all day and that night we both slept happily on the bed with our new Mom and Dad. That's when Mom knew we were starting to feel comfortable in our new home.

It’s been a great 4 years in our forever home and we know we are lucky kitties to have been rescued from the streets. We are very loved and cared for and have a home to call our own – every cat should be so lucky. A big thank you to all our furiends who stopped by to wish us a Happy Gotcha Day and for all the thoughtful gifts and pawmails. Special purrs of thanks to the furry talented Big Harry and Family, Pipo and Minko, and the family of Rory, Tundra, Lynzee, and Manytoes who made us the most awesome pawsome Gotcha Day pictures efur - very much appurrciated!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I was tagged in a game by <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1169986"><B> Zachery Kolohe’ Rider</U></I></B></A>. Here's the questions just copy and paste. And tag 5 kits to play along.

1) Tell me your funny Christmas story.

Mom and Dad used to always put up a Christmas tree every year - until the year 2008. That’s when Luke and I joined the household. We love to climb and jump on things and that year we tipped the tree over several times. Mom tried to put up a smaller tree on the dining room table thinking it was too small for us to climb, but we knocked that tree over, too, and removed the ornaments. No more Christmas trees in our house – MOL.

2) Where's your favorite hiding place when playing hide and go seek?

I like to burrow and hide underneath blankets. It’s warm and dark and no one can see me. Mom says I must be part mole.

3) What did you dream of being as a young kit?

The most important thing to me when I was a young kit, was to find a forever home with my bro Luke. We’ve been together since birth and our rescue group was pretty insistent that that we get adopted together. I’m happy to say that the dream came true.

4) What's your favorite hobby?

Birdwatching, planting catnip and gardening with Mom, sneaking up and pouncing on Luke, wrestling with Luke, and chasing my little sister Natasha around the house to name a few.

<a id="img2447814898" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/Garden%20Kitties/DSC_0572.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img2447814898');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/Garden%20Kitties/DSC_0572.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">Checking on my catnip plant in the garden</a>

5) What’s your one "bad habit" that you love and your Mom hates?

I insist on being fed on the kitchen counter. Ever since I was a young kit, I have always jumped on the counter when I want to be fed. Mom thinks it’s because Luke has always been the alpha kitty and he can be somewhat dominant at the food bowls. I like to be up high on the counter so I can eat my food in peace with no one bothering me.

6) If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

I’m pretty much a homebody. I’ve gone on a few camping trips in our RV to the mountains and to the coast, but I much prefer to stay home when I can.

7) What is your guilty pleasure?

I’m a foodie. I’ve always enjoyed my Fancy Feast (chicken or turkey) and I insist that Mom sprinkle freeze dried or grilled chicken on top of my wet food. Did I mention that I am quite spoiled? Dad tells Mom to stop spoiling us, but she doesn’t listen to him, thank catness.

8) What is your favorite make believe monster? Post a pic of this mysterious beast.

Mom has a doggie friend at work named Vern. He is a service dog that belongs to a co-worker who is blind. Vern is allowed off his harness when he’s not working and he likes stop in and visit people in their offices. Mom buys him toys and treats and likes to pet him and rub his belly when he stops in to visit. As long as Mom doesn’t bring him home to meet us, I’m okay with it.

<a id="img4926200764" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/Catster%20friends/IMG_0313.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img4926200764');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/Catster%20friends/IMG_0313.jp', 'g', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">Meet Vern</a>

9) What is the one dreaded thing you have to do at home?

I really dislike carpet cleaners because they make a lot of noise with their loud monster machines and they make our carpets smell funny afterwards. We run and hide whenever they come over.

10) We are going to have coed ships this year so which ship do you want to be on mine, or Zoe’s. Gris will be having a small ship (more like a dingy) for all our kits to be on.

Either ship sounds like fun. I love Talk Like a Pirate Day – arrrrrgh!

Thanks for tagging me Zach! I’m off to tag some friends!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom came home from the pet store today with kitty food, a doggie pull and tug toy, and a rawhide bone. What in the meow? Mom, that bone is way too big for us to chew on. What gives?

I heard Mom telling Dad that the doggie stuff was for Vern. Vern is a 2 year old black Labrador service dog that Mom sees at work every day. His owner, Patrick, is a social worker who works with visually impaired patients at the hospital and is legally blind himself. Vern is his guide dog. When Vern isn’t officially working, Patrick lets him off his harness and allows him to visit people in nearby offices. Vern is very sweet and social and loves to walk around and visit with people.

Mom’s office is not far from Patrick’s so she sees Vern almost every day. Vern has decided he really likes Mom, and he will go inside her office when the door is open and lay on his back begging for belly rubs. Of course Mom pets him and rubs his belly. Mom adores Vern and likes to buy him little toys when she goes to the pet store. He chewed up the last ball and rope toy Mom bought him (he loves to chew) so she’s been looking for big bones and toys that he can’t destroy as easily.

Should I be worried? Does this mean my Mom wants to get a doggie? I sure hope not. Maybe I better remind her about that show on Animal Planet called “Bad Dog!”

Worried purrs,

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ It is with a heavy heart that I report to my pals that the beloved Burd’z Nest that I have been watching and supervising for the past week from my Cat Perch in our front window has met with a tragic ending.

A Mama Burd has been busy at work for the past week building a nest in the eaves of our front porch. I have been sitting on my Cat Perch in the front window every morning and every night watching the hard working Mama Burd build her nest:

<a id="img2955807086" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/DSC_1453-1.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img2955807086');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/DSC_1453-1.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">Burd Watching from My Cat Perch</a>

Last night when my Mom came home from work, she was horrified to see our beloved Burd’z Nest sitting on the ground underneath the eaves where Mama Burd had been building her nest:

<a id="img2916074348" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/IMG_0253-1.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img2916074348');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/IMG_0253-1.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">The Burd's Nest</a>

There were no eggs or remnants of eggshells anywhere, so we don’t know if the eggs were eaten by a predator or if Mama Burd had not yet laid her eggs. We are sad about this sudden turn of unfortunate events and feel very sorry for Mama Burd. She spent so much time and effort building her pretty little nest, only to have it knocked to the ground.

I was sitting in my favorite spot on top of one of the cat perches in our front window yesterday morning, when Mom noticed me staring intently at something on the front porch. I was staring up at the eaves of the porch just above our front door. Mom opened the front door to see what I was looking at and saw a Mama Burd flying away.

When she looked up at the eaves she saw…the Burd’z Nest! Since it’s way up high she’d have to get a step ladder to get a closer look, but she doesn’t want to scare Mama Burd off permanently in case there are eggs in the nest. We’re going to watch from a distance for now so Mama Burd can finish building her nest and taking care of her little burdie eggs if there are any.

Since the Mama Burd flew off, we’re not sure what kind of bird she is. I have a front row seat from my cat perch in the window so I’m going to keep watch for the next few days to see what happens. I’ll be back with more Burd updates later.

Love,
Tully

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Today me and my brofur Luke turn four years old. Mom looked at the cat age calculator and saw that 4 cat years is equivalent to 32 human years - she says that is a great age to be. Old enough to have some wisdom and experience, but still young enough to act silly, carefree, and have lots of fun – MOL.

I was a little upset about being left home alone for the past few days while Mom and Dad went off to the mountains to ski. After all what could be more important than staying home with your fur kids? Mom said it was very strange to sleep in a bed at night that did not have kitties laying all over it. She kept waking up and wondering where we were. Then she remembered she was not at home. Since I like to burrow under the blankies next to Mom every night she said it was kind of hard to get used to not having me next to her for a couple of nights. It was so nice having her home again, I jumped into her lap and purred and purred last night. Yeah, I admit it, I’m a Mama’s Boy.

Thank you to all the pals who stopped by to wish us a happy birthday today. We’re having a fun day celebrating.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I recently won a pawsome CatAtelier feline fashion collar from pal <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1090264"><B> Toki</U></I></B></A> when he had a contest in his diary. The funny thing was that Toki’s Mom had to make a custom one for me because of my plus-size neck. Even though I’m not that big of a cat, I do have quite a lot of floof around my neck and on my body. Most collars disappear into my big fur, so I don’t often wear them.

Toki’s collar arrived last week along with two interchangeable bowties and I have to admit it is quite a handsome collar. It’s my Mom’s favorite color (green) and looks purrfect for St. Paddy’s Day. It’s made out of really nice fabric and is very well made. Yesterday Mom took some pictures of me. I wasn’t happy about having the collar on at first, but it wasn’t too bad once I got used to it. It’s actually very comfortable:

<a id="img8189127086" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_0390-1.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img8189127086');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_', '0390-1.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">GQ, here I come</a>

Mom thinks the collar looks even nicer on Luke since he doesn’t have as much fur around his neck and the bowtie stands out more:

<a id="img7764775939" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_0305-1.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img7764775939');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_', '0305-1.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">Luke strikes a pose</a>

Sammy wasn’t sure what to think of the collar. At first he ran around and tried to pull it off his neck, but then he thought, oh what the heck:

<a id="img1452340714" class=bodyTextRev target=site onClick="alert(\'Catster Alert: You are about to visit an outside link that was submitted by this pet owner.\');" href="http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_0445-1.jpg" onmouseover="var el = $j('#img1452340714');var c=String.fromCharCode;var q=c(34);var l=c(60);var r=c(62);var a=c(39);var p=c(43); el[0].onmouseover = null; var n=$j(document.createElement('div')); n.insertBefore(el); n.html(''.concat(l, 'img src=', a, 'http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224', '/kthautala/St%20Pattys%20Day%202012/DSC_', '0445-1.jpg', a, ' /', r, l, 'BR /', r));">Sammy makes a fashion statement</a>

Cute lil' <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1011864"><B> Ingen</U></I></B></A> also won a collar from Toki. Last I heard, her Mommy was still trying to take some pictures of her and Novi because they kept running away from the camera, heehee. We like to do that, too, Ingen, keeps our Mom on her toes.

Thank you Toki and Mom ~ I’m ready to step out in style for St. Paddy’s Day!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Two weekends ago, Luke posted some pics of us with our catnip plant in the backyard. Mom thought the catnip plant was a goner after December’s frost appeared to have killed it and some of her other plants, too. But recently she noticed little green leaves sprouting and she knew it would come back to life.

This weekend we went outside to see how the catnip plant is doing and to help Mom do some more planting.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ This is kind of embarrassing for me to write about, but Mom is wondering if I have a fat neck.

I was the lucky winner in <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1090264"><B> Toki’s</U></I></B></A> diary contest this week so he pawmailed me to ask for my neck measurement since I won one of his Mom’s pawsome bowtie collars from her Etsy store. Mom measured my neck and wrote back to Toki that it is 11 inches. Toki wrote back to me and seemed a little surprised. Really? Is your neck truly 11 inches? Mom measured me again. Ten inches would be snug. I could probably squeeze into 10 ½ inches. Toki’s collar that’s already made is 9-10 inches, which would be a tad small for me and my fat neck. So now his Mom has to make me a plus-size collar ~ MOL. The good news is that another kitty has a chance to win the 9-10 inch collar.

Mom measured Luke’s neck to compare us. His neck is 11 inches too. He’s a bigger cat than I am, but he is not as floofy around the neck. Right now I am extra floofy since it’s winter. Even though it’s not cold where we live, my fur always grows in extra thick and floofy in the winter months.

Mom thinks I’m a healthy weight, about 13 pounds. Maybe my fur is just fat?

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom came home today from the pet store with some new cat stuff. She bought us a couple of new cat scratchers – woo hoo! One of them is a sisal scratch mat with a feather snap toy you can attach to the edge of the mat and the other is one of those curvy two-surface scratchers with a feather toy attached to the surface.

Mom took the cat scratchers out of the car first and put them on the living room carpet for us to inspect while she unloaded the rest of her stuff from the car. In less than 15 minutes both feather toys were shredded all over the living room carpet – oops! Sorry Mom!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom is feeling so lazy today, she has a million things to do and doesn’t feel like doing anything – MOL. Dad’s been watching the 49er’s game so he’s feeling a little lazy too. We love it when Mom and Dad just chillax with us and do nothing. They need to act more like cats and less like humans. Humans are always rushing around thinking that they have to get things done. Go to work, run errands, do chores, then repeat. I get tired just watching them.

All of us kitties are hanging out in the living room windows enjoying the cool weather. There are birds and squirrels to watch, and beautiful falling leaves swirling in the front yard. It’s been so hot here lately, but today we’ve got some fog so it’s nice and cool. It’s a great day just to kick back and relax. Are you listening Mom? Just relax and enjoy the day!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ What started out to be a bad week ended on a happy note. It all began last Sunday when Mom hauled out her suitcase – WTC? That is never a good sign and can only mean one thing…Mom is leaving us!

She left us for 4 days. It was really awful. How could she leave us? At least Dad was home with us. When they both leave, that’s the worst. Mom called home every night to get a kitty update. Dad reported to her that I hung out in the front window every evening looking for signs that Mom was coming home. That made Mom feel really bad. I didn’t sleep in the bedroom at night since Mom wasn’t around. Dad said my appetite was good and I continued to eat so I couldn’t have been that upset. Well, I never lose interest in food – MOL!

When Mom finally came home Thursday night, I ran up to her at the door but then remembered that I was supposed to be mad, so I ran away from her. That lasted about 30 minutes. I couldn’t stay away from her any longer so I nuzzled her and purred so loud in her ear, she knew I wasn’t mad anymore. I snuggled up next to her on the bed when she went to sleep to remind her why she should never leave home.

Happy days are here again:)

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ So what’s up with the weather? We had rain the first week of June, then this week, the first official week of summer, we had a triple digit heat wave ~ sheesh! It finally cooled off today, but man, it was hot earlier in the week. It’s hard to stay cool when you’ve always got a fur coat on.

Heat makes some of us a little cranky. A couple of nights ago Alpha Luke was pulling his “top cat” routine with me and got me really mad. He has a habit of wanting to take over whatever cat tree I happen to be sitting on. It doesn’t matter which perch I’m on – if he decides that he wants that one, he just jumps up and takes it over. He starts by licking my head until I cry “uncle” and jump off. It’s really annoying.

I was sitting in the front living room window minding my own business when Luke jumped up on my perch. I should point out that there are two cat perches in the front window that sit right next to each other and are almost identical in size and height. It’s not like I had the bigger one or the better one. He just wanted the one I was on. He hopped up on my cat perch and started licking me on the head which normally would cause me to jump down and leave. I didn’t back down this time. I got him in a head lock, held him down, and bit him.

Okay, maybe it wasn’t an actual bite, but it was a pretty good nip. It seemed to take him by surprise and I think he got my message which was “don’t mess with me dude.” I kept my spot on the cat tree and Luke slinked away. Yep, heat makes some of us just a little cranky.

Just chillin,
Tully]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Well, it’s the first day of June and we’ve got…rain! That sure doesn’t happen here very often in June. Not that I'm complaining. We’ve been hearing so much lately much about tornadoes, lightening, severe storms, and other awful things in different parts of the country, a little rain is nothing compared to that.

It was very cool and windy this past Memorial Day weekend, but we didn’t mind since we were helping nurse Mom back to health. She got a yucky cold last week and spent most of the weekend in bed, so of course we took care of her and helped her get well. Thank you to everyfur who sent some healing purrs her way, it really helped a lot!

I want to wish my best buddy <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1061752"><B> Gump</U></I></B></A> (aka The Gumpster) a very Happy Birthday – he turns 17 today – woohoo Gumpy! You’d never guess his age by looking at him, he looks and acts so much like a youngster. He still enjoys playing in the Michigan snow and rolling around in the flower beds, plus he can bunny kick his catnip toys and chase his fur sib Nadia around with the best of us. I think a lot of our friends already know Gumpy and would agree what a sweet and lovable tuxie mancat he is. We think the world of him and wish him many more happy and healthy years with his Mom and sisfur.

Gumpy, we’ll be sure to stop by your Birthday Pawty (diary) later today and celebrate with you buddy – Happy Birthday! I love you, man!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom and I were so surprised to see my little tuxie face on the community homepage today – Diary of the Day – woohoo!

She was so happy that my diary entry celebrating Moms was featured because I am such a Mama’s Boy. There’s no shame in that fellow mancats – real mancats love their Mommies! I definitely love mine!

Thank you Catster, it’s always fun to receive any type of honor. And even more fun to hear from my pawsome friends. I have many thank you’s to write for all the gifts, pawmails, comments, and the most beautiful mementos from sweet Alfie and Family, Big Harry and the Kewlest Catster Kitties (KCK) Group, Colorado and the Catstertown Crew, Pipo and Minko, and my new pals Manytoes and The Gang. You guys are the best – it doesn’t get any better!

Thank you so much my furiends for making my day so special!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Happy Mother’s Day to all the pawsome Moms out there!

I’m just beginning to furgive my Mom for leaving us for an entire week. She and Dad left on a road trip last Monday. They went to Yosemite, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. Mom says it was too much driving around in the car to bring all of us kitties along so we had to stay home. They did come home in the middle of the week to check on us, but then they packed up and left again. Mom always worries about us, especially me, when she has to be gone overnight because I am very attached to her. I sleep next to her every night under the covers and cuddle with her on her lap - when I am in the mood to cuddle. I have to be the one to initiate it, that's just the way I am.

Aside from missing Mom, I think the worst part was not being able to go outside in the backyard while they were gone. We’ve gotten so used to going outside for a little while each day, now we kind of expect it. Grandmaw came over and fed us, but there was no outdoor time. What a bummer. I love to be outside where I can roll around in the dirt and chase the flying bugs.

As soon as Mom and Dad got home, we got to go outside for a little playtime in the yard. Even Dad said it looked like we all had big smiles on our faces – MOL!

I hope all the Moms out there have a Happy Mother’s Day– I’m sure glad mine is home!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ After weeks of wind, rain, hail, and other weird things we don’t usually see in April, I think it is safe to say that spring has arrived. At least that’s what Mom’s allergies tell her – MOL.

Yesterday was a purrfect day with temperatures in the low 70’s. Mom left the back door open most of the day so we could come and go from the house into the backyard. Even though there’s a cat fence to keep us inside the yard, she is still a worry wart and had to check on us every few minutes. We were good kitties. Most of the time Mom would find us rolling in the dirt or lounging somewhere in the grass or bushes – it was the best day ever.

Then when Mom brought us inside the house around dinner time, she left all the windows open in the front of the house so we could sit by the windows and smell the fresh air. Today looks like more of the same weather. Yep, I think spring is finally here!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ After weeks of dreary cloudy days and LOTS of rain, now we are having a heat wave - sheesh! It’s in the 80’s today, so hot, hot, hot!

I know my pals like Finney, Lacey, Kibbles, Francis, Riley, Skippy and all the other kitties who live in parts of the country that are still getting snow won’t feel sorry for us one single bit, but come on, it’s like we skipped spring altogether and went straight to summer!

We were so hyperactive this morning, running all over the house, that Mom let us run around in the backyard for a little while before she went to work. The birdies were singing, the squirrels were chattering, it was so much fun to hear all the sounds. I chased a fly and ran all around the yard and played. When Mom brought us back inside the house we were so revved up that we ran around and chased each other some more – she almost didn’t go to work today because she was having so much fun watching us play! You know those mega play sessions where you run around like a herd of elephants and knock over everything in your path? It was one of those play sessions – fur was flying everywhere!

Now Mom is home again and we’re running around the yard again. But seriously, don’t you feel sorry for us because it’s so dang hot? It would be nice to have a little spring before the summer gets here!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I think that makes me an official mancat now. I’m not really sure what age you have to be to qualify as a mancat, but since being 3 in cat years is like being 28 in human years according to one chart we read, I think that is a good mancat age.

We received our birthday presents last week. Mom ordered 2 new pieces of cat furniture and they were delivered fully assembled to our doorstep - she loved that. We love this furniture. We can run up and down the sides of it and it won’t tip over. Trust me, we tried! It’s got sisal and carpet on it so we can scratch to our hearts content.

One has 3 different levels to sit or lie in; the other has only 2 levels, purrfect for the front window so we can watch all the birds. The taller one is next to the couch so we can watch TV on it – “Must Love Cats” – our favorite TV show. The top perch is mine of course. Until Luke knocks me off, he can be such a bully sometimes.

We had so much fun reading all our birthday messages from our pals and putting all the beautiful birthday mementos we received on our pages. It was really great hearing from some friends we hadn’t seen or heard from in quite a while.

Thanks to all our pals for making this day so special for us!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom decided that all of us needed some extra grooming today so she declared it an official Spa Day. That means we were zoom groomed, furminated, and pawdicured. All of this was topped off with a toofie brushing session.

None of us were furry happy about it. We all enjoy the Zoom Groom, but poor Sammy also got furminated in the floofy pants. Sometimes he gets dingleberries stuck in his pantaloons, so Mom gets out the Furminator to remove them. He really hates that. She is threatening to shave him because he always gets things stuck back there and then he makes such a big scene when she tries to clean him.

One by one, Dad sat us on his lap while Mom gave us a pawdicure. Natasha always goes first since she is the squirmiest. She really does not like any type of spa treatment which is kind of weird since she is a girl. I thought girls liked that kind of thing. Go figure.

Luke and I were pretty good at sitting still for our toofie brushing. We’ve been doing it for a while so we are used to it. Luke will actually lick the toothpaste off the brush. It has some kind of flavoring in it that makes it taste good. Sammy and Natasha act like they are being tortured with the toothbrush, so Mom can just barely get their front teeth done.

I’m not sure why mancats really need all this extra grooming and primping. I think we look good just the way we are.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ We are still waiting for snow to arrive in the San Furancisco Bay Area. Will it ever get here? It’s a wet blustery day and we are happy to be indoors. It’s 50 degrees outside, so it sure doesn’t seem like snow could fall here. The weather lady just said that a mass of cold arctic air is moving into the North Bay and snow is forecast for tonight.

What do you think kitties, will we really see some white stuff? The last time we had snow at sea level in the Bay Area was in 1976, so this would be pretty exciting news if it does happen. Mom promises to take a picture and put it on my page tomorrow if we wake up and find snow in our yard. Keep your paws crossed – I really want to see some white stuff!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ After a long stretch of sunny days and spring like weather, the wet stuff finally came back to the Bay Area yesterday and another storm is coming in right now. We don’t mind at all because we still need more rain, the last month has been very warm and dry. The rain is supposed to stay around all week which will be a nice change.

We had a nice Valentine’s Day and received some really nice cards and presents from some of our furiends. Last week we received a super fun package from our good pals <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/family/979794"><B> Finnegan and Lacey</U></I></B></A> filled with lots of great toys, including an ultra-potent catnip toy that made us go pawsitively crazy! They must grow some strong stuff out there in New Hampshire because this was some mighty strong catnip! I was rolling all over the ground in catnip heaven! There was also a yummy bag of some healthy freeze dried shrimpie treats in the package that all of us got to enjoy – thank you very much Finney and Lacey!

We also received beautiful homemade Valentine cards and photos from my sweetie pie <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/947817"><B> Xena</U></I></B></A>. One was especially made for me by Xena with a sweet valentine message and picture of her enclosed. She is such a beauty. The other card was to our whole furmily including Luke, Sammy, and Natasha and included a beautiful collage picture of Xena, Zeke, Kandi, Angel Tallulah, little Tu Two, and their cute doggies, Mia and Milo. They are the sweetest furiends and we thank them for remembering us on Valentine’s Day.

Today we received another package in the mail – we are the luckiest kitties! This one was addressed to Luke from his Valentine, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1051660"><B> Simone</U></I></B></A>. Since the pawpurrazzi (aka Mom) never misses a photo opportunity, she is saving the package for when she can take some pics of us, hopefully before this weekend. Even though it is addressed to Luke, I’m purrty sure that sweet Simone would want him to share his prezzies with us, so I’m hoping he will. The package smells really yummy so I think we are going to like whatever is inside!

I hope all of my pals got plenty of lovies and snuggles on Valentine’s Day!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I was tagged by the beautiful Keisha and by my good buddy Pigeon. I always enjoy a good game of tag. Here are some things that annoy me about humans:

1.	Being left alone during the day and/or overnight. This mainly applies to Mom. She should stay home with us 24/7. Period.

2.	When Mom spends too much time on her laptop computer. Her lap should be available at all times for me.

3.	Not getting breakfast on time. Mom has the nerve sometimes to sleep in on weekends. We do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen because breakfast should be served no later than 6 a.m.

4.	Being followed around by the paparazzi (aka Mom). She’s always sticking a camera in some cat’s face. Enough already!

5.	Halloween costumes. They do not belong on cats. I repeat. They do not belong on cats. I will never forgive Mom for dressing me like a pumpkin one year and taking my picture. It’s very undignified, especially for a macho mancat like me.

I guess I will tag my brofur, Luke. It looks like so many kitties have already been tagged, but if you haven’t, and would like to play, consider yourself tagged. Have a great weekend!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I surprised Mom this morning with a serious case of the zoomies. I am not usually a wild and crazy kitty first thing in the morning; I normally pester Mom for my breakfast as soon as she wakes up and then hang out quietly on the cat perch in the living room window and contemplate my day. But this morning Mom noticed me running back and forth from the bedroom to the living room acting very frisky and playful.

Before she knew it, I was chasing Sammy all over the house. Then Luke joined in and the three of us were running back and forth down the hallway, running across the bed, and jumping on top of the furniture. Finally Natasha joined us, too.

It was the best zoomie session ever! There was fur flying everywhere, we even left big clumps of it behind on the carpet. We had so much fun, I just might have to do this more often!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Dang, it sure has been cold these past few nights. It was 34 degrees when Mom went out on the porch this morning. Now I realize that may sound downright balmy to some of you kitties in the colder regions of the country, but that’s purrty darn cold for us Catifornia kitties, especially in the San Furrancisco Bay Area where we have very mild temperatures almost year round.

This cold weather has been making me want to snuggle a lot with Mom. I either burrow underneath the covers with her at night or I sleep right on top of her. Sometimes I lay across her neck like a scarf – I’m her neck warmer – MOL! Rain showers are supposed to be back in the forecast tomorrow, so hopefully it will be warming up a bit.

I hope everyfur is staying snuggly and warm this winter.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Not only is it the last day of 2010, the Diary Gal decided to make me a diary pick today – woohoo! This is my first diary honor ever so I am furry excited to be featured – yippee! I appurrciate all the nice messages and rosettes I have received – thank you to my pals for helping me celebrate.

We had a really nice Catmas, and even though I didn’t get my favorite food (turkey), we did get some yummy chicken breasts. Mom thought that ham would be too salty for us, so she didn’t even let us try any – bummer. We got a few more catnip toys and some FlyToys for Catmas so we’ve been having a blast playing with all our new stuff. Mom has to collect them all and keep them in a toy box, there were so many of them scattered throughout the house she was tripping on them whenever she came into the living room. The best Catmas present of all was having our pawrents home. There’s nothing better than spending time with the family for the holidays.

I want to wish everyfur a very Happy New Year – peace, love, and happiness in 2011!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ What a great week it has been. So many Catmas cards and gifties arriving for us, I guess Santy Paws decided to visit us a little early this year.

We’ve received some really nice cards from some of our Catster pals and another great catnip toy handmade by <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/family/898065"><B> River and Simone’s</U></I></B></A> Mom. We also got a really pawsome package from my best buddy, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/family/865655"><B> Gumpy and his sisfur Nadi</U></I></B></A>. They sent us a purrtastic catnip candy cane (Yeowww!) and lots of great toys with balls, strings, feathers, and fur – all the things that we love. I’m sorry to say that Sammy has already destroyed one of the furry mice – he licked it to death, poor little mousie!

We’ve been playing all day with our new stuff and having a blast. We put some new pics on our pages of us playing with our toys. They even sent our Mom some little gifties, too – that was so sweet (you scored some points there, Gumpy!)

We really do have the best furiends on Catster and we love each and every one of you. We want to wish you and your families the happiest holiday season ever!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Last weekend we were having a heat wave in the middle of November with temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s and this weekend Mom says it is raining cats and dogs. I don’t really know why she says that because I didn’t see any cats or dogs falling out of the sky. Humans say the weirdest things sometimes.

We were driving Mom crazy this morning because we couldn’t understand why we weren’t allowed to go outside in the backyard like we usually do on the weekends. All of us were meowing at the back door pleading to go outside. Mom says the ground was just too soggy and wet from the heavy rains last night to let us out, but since the sun was now shining and the skies looked clear, Mom got the brilliant idea of putting us in our pet strollers and taking us for a walk.

Daddy pushed Sammy and I in the big stroller and Mom pushed Luke in the smaller stroller. Natasha runs and hides whenever she sees the stroller so we left her at home. We did our usual loop around the neighborhood which is about 2-3 miles. We strolled by the creek that runs through the neighborhood and looked at all the gushing water from the rain. All the leaves were very colorful and pretty in the morning sun and it looked like it was going to be a beautiful sunny morning.

Guess what happened when we were about halfway through our walk? It started raining – MOL! Mom couldn’t believe it. When we left the house it was clear and the sun was shining; now we were stuck in the rain about a mile from the house. Being zipped inside the strollers, we were pretty well protected; it was Mom and Dad who got all wet – MOL! They started running back home with us inside our strollers – wheeeeeee!

Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo...
I'm strollin’ in the rain
Just strollin’ in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Yesterday was a purrfect fall day and today is looking like more of the same. The temperatures have been in the 70’s and the air is crisp and clear. The mornings are cold, in the low 40’s, so we snuggle up next to Mom in her bed until it is warm enough to get up.

Mom kept the back door open for us most of the afternoon yesterday so we could go outside in the backyard. She was cleaning and organizing her closets most of the day, but she would come outside and check on us every so often. We were good kitties and stayed in the yard. Luke and I did some wrestling out on the lawn and then snoozed in the afternoon sunshine near the bushes.

Sammy and Natasha explored the yard. Mom caught Natasha climbing the tree a couple of times, but was able to get her to come down. The Cat Fence keeps us from climbing over the fence, but Natasha still looks for ways to climb up using bushes and trees. That girl is always looking for mischief.

It is a purrfect day today and I’m going to find myself a sunny nap spot. Hope all our furriends are enjoying some great fall weather, too.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ We’ve got wind and rain here today so we are all indoors trying to stay warm and dry. It was a bit disappointing after spending so much time outside yesterday in the backyard in the beautiful autumn sunshine, but I’ve accepted that today is going to be an indoors day.

Mom has noticed that when the weather is cooler outside, I become more of a snuggle bug. I jumped up on Mom’s lap a little while ago and kneaded some biscuits for her and now I am snuggled up beside her on my warm blanket. I like to keep Mom guessing. Sometimes I can be a little aloof, but other times I am quite the love bug, it just depends on my mood.

Hope all my furriends are having a purrfect Sunday.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Does anyfur besides me think it is strange that there is no food in the Catster gift shop? No food that is fit for my feline taste buds anyway. Is there a meat shortage or something?

There’s an acorn rosette (okay if you are a squirrel), candy corn (okay if you want to satisfy a sweet tooth), a brussel sprout rosette (don’t know why anyone in their right mind would eat one of those), but there is no currently no shrimp, no steak, nothing whatsoever that us carnivores would eat.

I went shopping earlier today to send a furriend a tasty snack for his birthday and there was nothing in the Gift Shop that would satisfy a Man Cat appetite – Catster, where’s the beef? Or the chicken? Or the turkey?

While I’m on my soapbox, Catster, why oh why did you take away the cute little baseball rosette before the World Series ended? Our San Francisco Giants just won the World Series tonight, and there are no celebratory baseballs to send to my furriends - what a bummer. Yay Giants!

Humph! Where do I send my letter of complaint?

Mom had just let us outside on the back patio when she came outside with the mail. “This package is addressed to Luke, Tully, Sammy, and Natasha,” Mom said as she put the package down on the table. I started pawing at it right away because I knew there was something good inside. OMC, Halloween catnip toys!

Luke jumped up on the table to see what I was looking at, so I immediately picked up the toy I wanted and I ran! Mom didn’t get a picture of me doing that because I was too fast, but she snapped a pic of me and Luke checking out the toys. Poor Sammy and Natasha didn’t get to play with their toys until later when we went inside the house – MOL!

Thank you River and Simone, these are some pawsome catnip toys, and we can tell there is some premium nip inside – it’s definitely the good stuff!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Finally! We got some snuggle weather today. It rained for the first time in a really LONG time. Mom was getting ready to let us outside in the backyard earlier today for some playtime and raindrops started falling everywhere. So she scooped us all up and brought us back inside the house.

I was a little peeved at first because I really wanted to go outside. Mom did some chores for awhile then decided to lay down for a little nap – that's when I snuck in and snuggled up next to her under the blanket. It was so cozy and warm. We could hear the raindrops falling and it sounded so peaceful.

But what's this? Mom later started packing a suitcase. Humph. I wonder where she thinks she is going. She’s been talking a lot to Dad today about our feeding schedule, litter box cleaning, and other things Dad is not normally too interested in. Dad is going to be cleaning our litter box? Dad is going to be feeding us?

What gives Mom?

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I’m happy to meow that the yucky heat wave that we’ve been having for the past few days finally seems to be over. We’ve been close to triple digits here for a few days which doesn’t make it very pleasant to be outdoors.

Mom was coming home from work and was not able to sit outside on the patio, which means our backyard time was limited. She won’t let us outside unless she can sit there and watch us. We’ve got the cat fence to keep us inside the yard, but she still likes to keep an eye on us. After Luke’s escapade on the roof a couple of weeks ago, Mom doesn’t trust us 100%. In case you didn’t hear about it, he jumped off the roof and landed on the patio table umbrella. I should say he “bounced” off the umbrella and landed on a lounge chair below – MOL! Never a dull moment in this house.

Anyway, it’s about 82 degrees right now which is purrfect for us. I love patio weather!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Boy it was hot this weekend! After an unseasonably cool summer, Mother Nature turned up the heat again. It happens every year. The temperatures drop in September, Mom hauls out the flannel sheets and her fall sweaters, then…surprise - heat wave! So now the air conditioner is back on and the tee shirts and shorts are back out. And it’s supposed to be even hotter tomorrow.

We insisted on going outside in the backyard this weekend as we have been doing for the past month since the cat fence was installed. All four of us sat by the back door and begged to be let out. When Mom pretended not to see us, we followed her around the house and got under her feet. Note to self: this is a very effective way to get Mom’s attention!

Mom sat outside with us this morning and read the Sunday paper until it got so hot she had to go back inside the house. We came inside for an afternoon nap, but wanted to go back outside again around dinner time. It was so hot; we just lay in the grass and didn’t move. Mom came outside every 10 minutes or so to check on us and found us sitting in the same spots. We are especially fascinated by the big oak tree in the corner of the yard. We sat at the base of the huge trunk and watched all the little black and grey squirrels jumping from branch to branch. Sometimes they throw acorns down at us which makes me want to chase them. I wonder what a squirrel tastes like…

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Happy Friday Everyfur! I am furry happy that we have an extra long weekend coming up. Mom is so glad she will be off from work for a few days. Mom being home = extra love and attention = more time in the yard to play and soak up the sun!

My two Grandmas will be visiting this weekend. Dad’s Mom, Grammy #1 (the one who calls me “she,” and says I am “pretty”) will stay overnight Saturday and Sunday since she lives far away. I’m going to wear my MCAW hardhat all weekend to remind her that I am a Man Cat. I sure hope it works, because it is quite humiliating to be mistaken for a girl cat!

Mom’s Mom (Grammy #2) will be over on Sunday for a BBQ. I’m hoping Mom throws an extra chicken breast on the grill for me because I LOVE chicken. Now that we have a cat fence and I can’t escape from the yard anymore, Mom will let us outside with her while company is here. Woohoo – no more being locked up inside the house while the humans have fun in the backyard - life is good!

Hope all my friends have a great weekend!

Love, Tully

P.S. I sure hope we haven’t missed any of our friends’ recent diary entries – we notified the Techno Cats last weekend that our Friends’ Recent Activity is out of chronological order, but it doesn’t look like they have fixed this yet :(]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Our dang Internet service has been giving us problems again. It’s very frustrating because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Mom finally called AT&T yesterday and after spending 45 minutes on the phone with a “troubleshooter,” he said they’ll send out a technician today to take a look.

We were able to get on Catster this morning, but our furiends’ activity is all messed up and out of chronological order so we had a heck of time figuring things out. Mom is not happy at the moment and wants to throw her computer out the window – MOL!

We wanted to add our purrs and prayers for our good friend <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1015796"><B> Pigeon</U></I></B></A> who has been missing since Thursday night. We know his Mom must be frantic about him and we sure hope he comes home soon.

We also want to send more purrs and prayers to the family of <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/947825"><B> Queen Tallulah</U></I></B></A>. QT made her journey to the Bridge last week after a very courageous struggle with cancer. She is the special mascot for some Catster Moms who are doing a Breast Cancer Walk in October in San Francisco and we salute her for helping raise awareness about feline breast cancer.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom is giving us another chance – yippee! After my escape over the backyard fence last weekend into the neighbors’ yard, Mom was having doubts about whether to let us outside anymore. Our friend <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/598373"><B> Chai Latte</U></I></B></A> posted a comment in Luke’s diary about getting a cat fence, so we checked it out:

http://www.catfencein.com/

Mom and Dad measured the yard today, called the company, and placed our order. It’s supposed to ship tomorrow and arrive by Tuesday. It’s a containment system that prevents cats from climbing over the fence and escaping. We love our backyard so much, but Mom has to watch us like a hawk because I love to find different escape routes. I’ve already jumped on top of the fence several times and on top of our shed.

Mom let us out in the yard today, but kept a very close watch on all of us. She says I am definitely the one she worries about. I climbed up on the roof of our shed, which is only a couple of feet from our back fence, and I have tried to climb our oak tree several times. She ordered the tree guard in addition to the regular cat fence. I haven’t made it up to the first branch of the oak tree yet because Mom always catches me and foils my attempts, but I could probably make it up easily if she wasn’t watching me :) From the oak tree, I could easily jump over our back fence.

We’re keeping our paws crossed that this works for us, because it is the only way Mom will allow us out in the backyard. She can’t be worrying about whether or not one of us will escape. We will let you know how it works! Thank you, Chai!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I’m in big trouble right now with Mom. Just when she was starting to trust us and let us outside in the backyard for short, supervised romps, I pulled a fast one last night. Just after dinner, Mom let all of us outside in the yard like she’s been doing for the past couple of weeks. She usually sits on the patio with a book or a magazine and glances up occasionally to make sure she can see all of us. Most of the time we are on the lawn or in the bushes, smelling flowers, chasing bugs, or eating grass.

Dad was also sitting outside this time and he saw me first. I jumped up on a garbage can that was up against the fence. From there it was an easy jump to the top of the fence. Before Mom could blink an eye, I was on the neighbor’s side of the fence. She came over with a chair and tried to grab me, but I jumped down into the neighbor’s backyard. Mom ran inside the house, grabbed the cat carrier, and then ran next door to the neighbors’ house. Just as she was explaining to our neighbor what had happened and asked if it was okay to go into their backyard and catch me, Dad hollered over the fence. I had jumped up on the fence again and was back in our yard.

Gee Mom, I wasn’t going to run away, I just wanted to see what was on the other side of the fence. Mom says I am now grounded for one week. No going outside for the next few days and when I do go out, I have to be in my harness with the leash.

Sheesh! I think she is overreacting big time.

purrs,

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ What a great day it was today. Mom let all of us cats roam around the backyard this morning while she sat on the back patio and read the Sunday paper with her coffee. The weather has been unseasonably cool and nice here, in the 70’s today, which Mom really loves. She tries to take us outside in our stroller or lets us out in the backyard to explore whenever the weather is this nice.

After she read the newspaper for awhile, she decided to get her camera out and take some pics. Luke, Sammy, and I are pretty mellow dudes so we lounged casually on the back lawn while Mom took our pictures. She thinks she got some good ones of us.

But my sisfur Natasha is another story. That girl is crazy. She ran around and around the yard chasing who knows what. Mom tried to wait until Natasha got tired of running around and thought that eventually the little girl would get tired and relax on the lawn with us. She’d sit still for maybe 5 seconds before she’d be off and running again. As soon as Mom came within a couple of feet of Natasha with that camera, that girl ran off like a lightning bolt. I guess she doesn't like having her picture taken. I just enjoyed being in the warm sun and doing my favorite thing – eating grass!

Oh, and another really kewl thing happened today. My best buddy <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1061752"><B> Gump</U></I></B></A> was Cat of the Day (woot woot!) Gumpy has been such a great pal to me and my family; I hope he enjoyed his special day.

Hope everyfur has a great week!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My pal <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/941234"><B> Siggy</U></I></B></A> tagged me - I never miss a good game of tag! The Sigmeister and I just recently became pals and I found out he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, not far from me - how cool is that?

Here are some fun facts about me:

1. Do you ever wake your parents up during the night?

- I do get a little crazy sometimes during the night and all of us cats like to run around and chase each other, so yeah, I guess you could say we wake up Mom and Dad.

2. Do you ever tear up things?

- Not really, not compared to Sammy who tears up EVERYTHING, but I do like to stretch my claws on the screens when the windows are opened. Let's just say there are many holes in our screens and most of them were created by me - MOL!

3. What is your favorite treat?

- Turkey...paws down my favorite!

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?

- I used to carry my catnip mousie around in my mouth, but Mom hasn't seen me do that for awhile. I have never done anything "when asked to do so." I am a cat after all, and we never do as we are told, that's what makes us cats, right?

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now?

- Luke and I lived with our foster Mom until we were 7 months old. Before that we were homeless kittens on the streets of San Jose, CA taken in by a rescue group. I love where we live now - Mom spoils us, loves us, and gives us everything we need.

I tag any fur who would like to play - it's always fun to learn more about your furiends!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ So guess where I just spent the weekend? Camping near the Pacific Ocean. Yep, Mom and Dad put all four of us cats in the moving house again and took us RV camping. The weather was really nice and we had all our windows open the entire weekend so we could get a whiff of the ocean air. There were birdies and doggies and all kinds of interesting things to watch outside the windows. Mom brought the stroller along but decided not to take us outside because there were too many other people camping with their doggies. Maybe next time.

I have to say how great it was coming home today. The first thing Luke and I did once we got inside the house was to chase each other all over the place and wrestle. We can't do that very easily in the RV and we really missed being able to run around and zoom all over the place. All four of us will probably go crazy tonight after Mom and Dad goes to sleep - got to get those zoomies out of our system.

I want to thank all of my pals who commented on my last diary entry and gave me such great advice and reassurance that I am a macho Man Cat despite what my Grammy said about me. Last weekend when she was visiting for the Fourth of July, Grammy kept calling me a "she" cat and said I was "pretty." Yeah, my ego was a little bruised after that, but guess what happened later in the week? Mom took Catster's "Which Celebrity is Your Cat"? Quiz and my results said the Hollywood celebrity I am most like is George Clooney. I don't know who this George guy is but Mom says he is very handsome and definitely a macho guy, so I was furry happy to hear that.

Are you listening Grammy? The quiz results said I "turn heads everywhere I roll" and that I am an "A-list heartthrob" - MOL! Mom thinks this quiz summed me up pretty well!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ This weekend we had a houseguest. She's my Dad's Mom, so I guess that makes her my Grammy. She is a nice lady, but she kept referring to me all weekend as a "she." Mom kept correcting her, but Grammy kept saying "Tully is so pretty; he looks like a girl cat."

I was mortified...are you kidding me? A girl cat?! Luke and Sammy were never called "pretty" - she called them "handsome." Lady, do I need to put on my MCAW hard hat and tool belt for you to see that I am a Man Cat?

I don't know if I can forgive Grammy for this insult - this was a huge blow to my Man Cat ego!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Sammy and Natasha were at it again this morning. Mom was still asleep in the wee hours of the morning when she heard the telltale signs of a buffalo stampede. That’s what she calls it when all of us cats run at full speed around the house at the same time, up and down the hallway, around and on top of the furniture, creating such a loud noise it sounds like a herd of buffalo.

Luke and I joined in for a few minutes and then decided enough is enough – Mom won’t like it if we misbehave. So Luke and I sat next to Mom’s bed waiting patiently for her to get up and give us our wet food for breakfast. But Sammy and Natasha wouldn’t stop. They kept racing and running around the house making lots of noise. Mom heard things flying off the dining room table and landing on the floor. She finally got out of bed and gave us our wet food. Now that our bellies are full, everycat is hanging out by a window watching all the bird activity.

Happy Friday Everyfur!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Could it be that Catsterland is getting back to the fun kitty playground it used to be?

For the first time in a long time, kitties seem to be having fun again. <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1000872"><B> Julius</U></I></B></A> and <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1000921"><B> Pixie</U></I></B></A> were having a water balloon fight in one of our groups, Catstertown, this morning when we checked in, and when we read the diaries today, the topics were less about the evil pet food advertisers and what is wrong with the new Catster and more about the fun stuff we used to enjoy like who is having a birthday or celebrating a DDP honor, and just silly stuff like waking Moms up at 4 a.m. to get fed and wreaking havoc in the house.

Our cute little friend <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1127168"><B> Sassy</U></I></B></A> wrote about her “time-out” for knocking over and breaking her Mama’s figurines, our pal <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1051661"><B> River</U></I></B></A> is trying to solicit support to get a new cat tree, and our sweet friend <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1002413"><B> Annie</U></I></B></A> and the Calico Junction Kitties were celebrating her DDP honor and having a Birthday Pawty for three of their family members. Our pals <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/969030"><B> TT</U></I></B></A> and <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/969040"><B> Tasha</U></I></B></A> also celebrated a birthday today.

Heck, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/883236"><B> Newman</U></I></B></A> is even back to writing about orange smiley faced poop! Surely this is a sign that Catsterland is getting back to normal?

Oh yeah, and nobody was “kenneled” today (that we know of) – MOL!

Lots of love,

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Last night that squirt brother of mine, Sammy, meowed in his diary that all of us cats had snuck out into the backyard while Ma and Paw were at work. Sammy greeted Mommy at the front door when she came home, but she knew something was amiss when she found his hind quarters covered in leaves and pine needles. You can’t hide much when you have fluffy pants – everything gets stuck back there!

Anyhow, I was doing my best to round up these mischievous kittens all day, and was still out in the backyard when Paw came home and found me running around the yard. Mommy was furry mad and she came outside and brought me in the house immediately.

I was trying to get my little sisfur, Natasha, to come back inside the house before Mom caught us, but she was being naughty and running all over the yard. So Mommy went back outside, but Natasha is so fast Mommy couldn’t catch her. Natasha ran back to the opening she had snuck out of so Mommy discovered how we managed to escape in the first place. A telephone technician had removed an outside door to underneath the house the day before and we had managed to find it and escape – oops, I mean Sammy and Natasha managed to escape!

So for the record, Sammy and Natasha escaped and I was only doing my big brotherly duties and trying to bring them back inside the house. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Our family wants to thank everyfur who sent us yummy food treats from the BBQ picnic this past weekend – I never ate so much in my entire 9 lives! It was so nice to reconnect with some friends we hadn’t heard from in awhile.

Catster’s re-launch of their site last week has really driven home for us the reason we even come to Catster… friends!

Our friends have always been important to us, but we were reminded of just how important they are when we logged in to the New Catster for the first time and couldn’t easily find our pages or our friends. We felt very angry and frustrated, as I’m sure a lot of you did. We slowly started finding our friends again and went to their diaries and to the forums because we were feeling disconnected and disoriented. Our friends were saying the same things we were feeling – what happened to the old familiar Catster? Why is the Community so hard to find now? We went through the classic stages of grief…well, maybe not all of the stages, but we definitely felt anger and some sadness about the loss of the old familiar Catster. Our friends were feeling the same way, so that gave us some comfort. And now we have come to accept that change is inevitable and Catster is different. It’s a new place, but we still have our friends, and that is what matters most.

And while I’m meowing about friends, two of my dearest and most special friends are celebrating birthdays, so I want to send them my very best wishes and tell them how much they mean to me. <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/624959"><B> Lil’ Muppet</U></I></B></A> celebrated her 4th Birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday Sweetie!), and my best buddy, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/1061752"><B> Gump</U></I></B></A>, celebrates a birthday today – Happy Sweet 16, Gump!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Lots of kitties are upset about the New Catster, and the Catster Community getting shoved to the side of the new homepage, but HQ and Top Cat Ted have been listening to us and making changes – thanks, Ted! We knew you were a good guy!

Our Mom actually met Ted when she visited HQ last fall with some other Catster Moms, and he really IS a nice guy! The entire Catster and Dogster staff were wonderful to all the Moms who visited and we think they care a lot about the Catster Community and keeping members happy.

Catster has been making ongoing changes to the Community Homepage this week, and it keeps looking better and better, so we salute them for this – keep it up!

Oh yeah, and the free BBQ Picnic is pawsome! We just sent a bunch of free gifties to our pals – hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream for all! Go to the Catster gift shop and you can send as many as you want.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all my pals and thank you Catster for the free burgers and weanies - yum!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom was so busy yesterday we didn’t get to spend much time with her. She was gone all morning shopping and then she came home and cleaned the house and then worked in the yard. I offered to go outside and eat the grass for her while she pulled weeds, but she said “no.” Something about I might eat too much grass and then throw it up – humph!

Today we are going to spend a nice relaxing day at home with Mom and Dad. She promised to take us out for a morning stroll. Later this afternoon Grandmaw and her boyfriend will come by for dinner. I heard Mom say she is going to barbecue. Actually, she told Daddy that he will barbecue – MOL! While Mom cooks in the kitchen, Dad is assigned to barbecue duty. It’s only fair. I did hear Mom say we were having steak, though. Grandmaw and Daddy really like steak. I don’t care for it too much, so Mom got us cats some boneless chicken breasts. That was nice of Mom to get us chicken, don’t you think? Turkey would be even better, but I’ll settle for some chicken, especially if it’s warm off the grill.

Well, that’s my exciting day I’ve got planned – I better stretch out for a catnap before company comes over. Happy Meowmy’s Day to all the wonderpurr Catster Moms!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I received a really nice surprise this week. A sweet kitty named <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/105581"><B> Fluff</U></I></B></A> sent me a pawsome trophy and announced that I was Cat of the Week in the group 4 The Love of Cats. She also made a very special photo of me I placed on my page.

For those of you who don’t know Fluff, she is a purrty white kitty who was loved very much by her family. She died in 2003 and her Mom created the group <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/group/4_the_love-of-cats-56"><B> 4 The Love of Cats</U></I></B></A> to honor her memory.

Every week the group selects a Cat of the Week winner. What a lovely idea to honor a very special kitty. Since the group is all about celebrating cats and remembering Fluff, I want her family to know that her spirit is very much alive and well on Catster.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ What a beautiful day we had today. It was a pleasant 80 degrees and sunny, and there was not a cloud in the sky. Mom decided to get our harnesses out and take us outside in the backyard to enjoy the warm spring weather. When it was my turn to go outside I was so happy. I scampered across the lawn and started chewing on every blade of grass I could sink my teeth into. Mom kept picking me up and placing me in spots where she thought I couldn’t eat the grass, but it didn’t work. I would run away from her until I found another blade of grass to chew on.

I’ve always loved to nibble on grass, but today I was really going all out and devouring it. All the rain we’ve had has made the grass sweet and tender, like a yummy dessert. Mom told me that I am a cat, not a cow, and that kitties should not eat so much grass. Chomp, chomp, chomp – it was so good!

Mom is overreacting. I think it’s Luke’s fault. Since he puked up a hairball on the carpet Saturday morning, Mom is paranoid and doesn’t want me throwing up grass inside the house. I can’t help it. It is so tasty and delicious; I can understand why cows love it so much. I can hardly wait to go outside again so I can eat some more grass!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I love this time of year. There are so many birds in our front yard that I can sit by the window for hours and watch them. It’s finally warm enough that Mom will crack the windows open for us while we watch the birds, which is even better. I can sniff the fresh air and feel the cool breeze in my fur.

Mom bought some bookcases for the office that fit just underneath the window ledges. So now both big windows have a large enough area that all 4 of us cats can either sit or lie down in front of the windows and look outside while Mom and Dad are on the catputer.

Birds are fascinating little creatures. They fly around so quickly and dart back and forth across the lawn and soar up into the trees. I could watch them all day. I hope all my friends have a great weekend – I’m off to watch some birdies now.

She did her early morning errands but now she can’t go outside and do her yard work or her exercise stuff. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ One of the first groups we joined when we first became Catster members just over a year ago was <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/group/Super_strollers-3711"><B> Super Strollers</U></I></B></A>. We are huge fans of pet strollers (we now own three) and can’t say enough good things about them.

Now that spring is here, I think this is the purrfect time to think about owning a pet stroller. Here are the Top 10 reasons I think cats should think about owning one:

1.	It allows your person to spend more time with you.
2.	It allows you to get fresh air, especially if you are an indoor kitty.
3.	It allows you to explore new sights and sounds – it’s very stimulating, especially for indoor kitties.
4.	It is convenient. You can stroll whenever your person feels like it. We love evening strolls.
5.	It is safer than allowing kitties to roam on the streets. You are protected from aggressive animals.
6.	It is comfortable, especially if your person puts a thermal mat or fleece blanket underneath you in the stroller to cushion your ride.
7.	It’s great for travel. It is much easier to push a stroller than it is to haul a cat carrier, especially if you have multiple cats.
8.	It’s a great way for your person to get some exercise. Some strollers are even suitable if your person likes to jog or rollerblade.
9.	It’s very good for older or injured pets.
10.	It’s fun!

Please join me in the <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/group/Super_strollers-3711"><B> Super Strollers</U></I></B></A> group if you’d like to learn more!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Hooray, I turn 2 today! Mom remembers bringing me and Luke home when were 7 months old. We weren’t exactly “kittens” but we were young and frisky little guys.

Well, I’m still young and frisky. I like to play with my younger siblings, Sammy and Natasha. Just last week I taught them how to gallop through the house so that we sound like stampeding buffalo. I can still climb to the top of the cat tree in 3 seconds or less and I can still jump really high and catch the FlyToy when I set my mind to it.

Yep, I think being two is a good age...I think I’m gonna like it!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Luke and I have a game where we run around the house in a frenzy and cause a whole lot of noise. We race up and down the hallway in and out of the bedrooms and sometimes we even jump up on the bed (with Mom and Dad in it) if we really want to have some fun. Mom calls us the stampeding buffalo – MOL!

We always do it when the pawrents are asleep. It’s more fun that way. 4 a.m. is a favorite time to stampede. This morning we got the kittens in on the action. Instead of just Luke and me running around like crazy, there were 4 of us. We created quite a ruckus with 4 sets of paws galloping around the house at top speed.

It’s a great way to start your day – you should try it!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Today it was rainy and cold outside. Okay, so 50 degrees might not seem cold to some of you Midwest and East Coast kitties, but it’s a tad chilly for us California cats. Especially when it is wet outside. No one wanted to leave the house, especially Mom. Dad suggested going out to an afternoon movie, but Mom reminded him that they still had a couple of Netflix movies they hadn’t watched.

So guess what all of us in this house did today? N-O-T-H-I-N-G! We’d nap in our usual spots, get up and get a bite to eat. Go back and nap a bit more. Get up and use the potty box. Nap some more. Eat some more. Mom and Dad watched their movies. I have to say that it was purrfect!

We had some playtime this evening with Dad, and love and cuddles all day from Mom…it was a great day!

She was very special to me and my family because she was one of the first kitties we met when we joined Catster almost a year ago. Her Super Strollers group and Pets for Obama group were two of the first groups we joined. We loved her wit and humor. Some of the kitties we met in Super Strollers have become our closest and dearest friends, and we have Rocky Ann to thank for bringing all of us together.

She embodied the heart and soul of strolling and we are grateful that she introduced us to this wonderful pastime. When Rocky Ann raved about her AT3 stroller, we had to have one. When she reviewed her new Hammacher Schlemmer ceramic drinking fountain and gave it rave reviews, we ordered one too. She had impeccable taste!

Rocky Ann had a lot of class and a lot of style. Today the sun is shining and we are going out to stroll in memory of Rocky Ann – we are really going to miss her.]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Today was the most purrfect day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing. We got to go for a stroll with Mom. At first Luke was scared of the stroller. He ran and hid under the bed. Mom called him. He didn’t come out at first. All of a sudden he ran into the garage and jumped into the stroller. It was as if he suddenly remembered how fun it is to stroll. I’m always ready to hop in the stroller. Strolling is a lot of fun.

I love our stroller time. We get to see birds, squirrels, and other cats roaming around the neighborhood. Sometimes we see dogs. We keep our distance from the dogs, though. We never know if they are going to bark and cause a scene.

We walked by the creek today. The water was gushing from all the rain we've had. The air was clean and clear. It was a purrfect day. I hope we get to stroll again soon.

1. Do you have a Valentine? If so...who?

Oh boy, I sure hope my answer doesn't get me in some hot water here on Catster, but I’ve actually got two sweethearts! Pretty <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/947817"><B> Xena Princess</U></I></B></A> asked me to be her sweetheart and I told her I would love to be her sweetie. She’s a very sweet and lovable girl and I adore her.

But in the meantime, I also got kissed by cutie pie named <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/775351"><B> Gertie</U></I></B></A>! I love them both! What can I say, I have a weakness for tuxie girls – they are SO cute!

2. If not... do you wish you did? ... Is there anyone particular? ...Or would you rather be single? ...Why?

3. What's your favorite Love Song? ... Who sings it?

"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - by Queen

4. What would be a Perfect Valentine’s Day for you?

We’d start the date by going out to eat a delicious turkey dinner (my favorite!) followed by a stroller ride. I love to sit back in my pet stroller and watch the birds and squirrels run by while Mom pushes me around the neighborhood - I’d love to share this experience with my Valentine!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I always knew my Mom was a bit nutty, but today really takes the cake!

She had all these pictures spread out on the living room floor of all four of us cats and she was cutting them out and pasting them on cardboard. Then she took a knife and cut them out from the cardboard. So she had 4 cardboard cutouts of me, Luke, Sammy, and Natasha and started placing them in different locations around the house and taking pictures of them!

Taking pictures of pictures, don’t you think that is rather weird? Especially since they were pictures of us cats. Mom, when you’ve got the real thing right here, why do you need to take pictures of fake cats? If that wasn’t enough, she went out in the backyard and started posing the little cardboard cats on the patio furniture and on the lawn. Luke and I watched her through the patio room windows and couldn’t believe our eyes. All four cardboard cats were posing on the lawn chairs! She put pictures on our pages she thought it was so cute - oh brother!

I heard Mom tell Dad that she is going to a Crazy Cat Lady Pawty tomorrow and everyone is bringing their flat cats with them. So, I guess my flat self, flat Luke, flat Sammy, and flat Natasha are going to a pawty – humans sure are strange!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ There was a lot of commotion in the house today. The kittens snuck out into the garage while Mom was doing laundry and then managed to escape into the backyard by climbing underneath the house and finding an opening to the outside.

I heard Mom praising Luke because he was the one who snitched on them. He jumped up on the cat perch in the bedroom window and stared at the kittens until Mom came to the window and saw them – those silly kittens, what in the world were they thinking? Mom was running around trying to get them back in the house. It was comical.

So what was I doing while all this was going on? I took a nice LONG nap. I curled up in a cozy warm spot on the bed and napped the day away.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Yesterday I wrote in my diary about a lady coming over to the house with a cat carrier. Somefur has been staying in our spare bedroom, but the door is closed so we haven’t been able to go in to investigate. Mom sneaks in there every now and then with a bowl of food or a cat toy, but she won’t let me or Luke in that room.

Truth be told, I did catch a glimpse of the newcomers yesterday when they came in the house. It’s a new brofur AND sisfur – that’s right, we got twins! They are 13 week old kittens rescued from the SPCA when they were 4 weeks old. It’s a very sad story with a happy ending; they were found in a dumpster by someone who turned them over to the SPCA. It’s the kind of story that makes Mommy want to cry, but she’s glad someone found them before it was too late. A local rescue group took them from the SPCA and they had been living with a very nice foster family in the same city we live in.

Mom was originally looking for one kitty to adopt, and she fell in love with the little boy, a cute orange tabby the rescue group calls “Leo.” His sweet little sisfur, “Cleo” is all black with long hair. She is so shy that Mom can barely touch her right now, she tries to run away, but she is so bonded to Leo, Mom couldn’t bear the thought of splitting them up. She was skittish at the foster mom’s house too, so we knew she would be a shy kitty and will need some TLC. She’s also very tiny. When she was spayed at the end of November, she was less than 3 pounds. Leo was almost 4 pounds. He seems like a very playful little guy and Mom thinks he will fit right in with me and Luke.

Leo grooms Cleo and sleeps with a protective paw over her. Mom decided that if she wanted to adopt Leo, Cleo had to be adopted too. They are so cute together, we couldn’t imagine separating them. This took some discussion with Dad, but he agreed that it was better to adopt both of them. Luke and I were a bonded pair, too, and Mom is very thankful she has both of us. She can’t imagine one of us without the other, and that is how it is with Leo and Cleo.

Our new fur siblings will have their own pages as soon as Mom can take some pictures. Since they are in a bedroom right now, and Cleo is so shy, we want them to get comfortable first. We also don’t know yet if we will keep their original names. Although we like the names individually, Mom’s not sure if she wants names that rhyme.

We know you haven’t seen their pictures yet, but any suggestions on what to name the new little boy and girl?]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I was taking a catnap today in the afternoon sun, dreaming about Christmas and what toys and goodies I might be getting, when an unfamiliar lady came to our front door. She was carrying a cat carrier that looks like the one Luke and I have. She came inside the house and talked with Mom. I wasn’t sure what they were talking about. They went into the spare bedroom and closed the door. Mom had put a litter box, a scratching post, and some food bowls in there earlier today…hmmm, that is very strange…

Mom and the lady came back out to the living room after awhile and talked some more. Mom signed some papers, and then the lady left. I sniffed at the closed bedroom door. I thought I heard the pitter patter of little paws on the other side.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom took us to the Pet Food Express store today to have our photos taken with Santa. She was kind of hesitant to do it since most kitties don’t enjoy sitting on the lap of a big bearded man in a red suit, but this was a fundraiser for the IBOK Rescue group who saved us from the animal shelter. Since our foster Mom, Laurie, sent us a personal invite to the event, we didn’t want to disappoint her.

Mom packed us up in our kitty stroller and as soon as she wheeled us in the front door of the pet store everyone commented about how “pretty” we are. Pretty? I prefer to be called “handsome,” I’m a mancat after all, but I let it go. We had our new Calvin collars on, although it’s hard to see them in the photos. I have a red and green collar; Luke has a black and white one with lavender trim.

Mom got a little nervous for us when she saw all the doggies waiting in line; we were the only cats there. Laurie saw us come in and she took us into the back for a nail trim so we wouldn’t claw poor Santa to death. Then they moved all the doggies out of our way and tucked me and Luke under each one of Santa’s furry red arms. The photographer started snapping away and Mom is amazed that several of our photos turned out pretty decent - check out our photo we just put on our pages.

Overall Mom was very pleased with us, she thinks we did great. I can’t say that I’d want do it again, but meeting Santa Claws was pretty cool!]]></content:encoded>

		<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My silly brother, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/968037"><B><I>Luke</U></I></B></A>, tagged me. Now I have to answer these questions…

1. Do you believe in Santa Claws? Why?/Why not?

I haven’t met Santa Claws yet, but Mom is taking us to have our photos taken with him next weekend. Our Rescue Group is hosting its Third Annual Santa Photo Fundraiser to raise money for homeless kitties. I’ll let you know what he’s like after I meet him!

2. Have you been naughty or nice? Please explain yourself.

Well, compared to Luke, I am a little angel. He gets into trouble a lot…I like to stay on Mommy’s good side. I do try and steal her turkey from her sandwiches though, is that considered naughty?

3. What would you like Santa Paws to bring you? Why?

I can always use more catnip filled mice and new toys. I have a short attention span and need new things to keep me entertained.

4. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Why?

I really like the tune “Silent Mouse” that my pal <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/947834"><B><I>Zeke</U></I></B></A> published in his diary. It’s a very nice song.

5. What is your favorite Christmas movie? Why?

I don’t really watch movies, they kind of bore me, but Mom loves “It’s a Wonderful Life.” She watches it every year, so Luke and I will try and sit through it with her. I’d rather go and play with my catnip mouse…

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My pal in nearby San Francisco, <A class=bodyTextRev target=site HREF="http://www.catster.com/cats/598373"><B>Chai Latte-Capone</U></I></B></A> posted a Tag Game in her diary and tagged anyone who wants to play. I’m feeling very frisky tonight and I want to play!

List 10 questions that tell a little bit about ourselves, and tag some furiends.

1. What is the color of your collar?

- I have a black and white collar with fishies on it to match my tuxedo markings, but I only wear it when I travel.

2. What kind of food do you eat?

- I love wet food! Most days I eat Fancy Feast chicken or turkey, sometimes I’ll eat Natural Balance Ultra Formula if I am in the mood – I am ultra picky!

3. What are your favorite treats?

- Halo “Liv-a-Littles” Chicken treats are “da bomb” – Mom sprinkles them on our wet food at night.

4. Do you have a Valentine or a significant other?

- I am too young for that. I have several female kitty pals who I love furry much as furiends.

5. Do you get table scraps?

- Not sure if you’d call them “scraps,” but if I smell turkey in the house, I HAVE TO HAVE IT! If Mom is making a turkey sandwich or cooking a turkey in the oven, I get in her face until she gives me some – it is my all time favorite food!

6. What is your favorite toy?

- Catnip filled mice. I chew them to shreds so Mom replaces them every couple of weeks.

7. When is your Birthday?

- March 23 – I’ll turn 2 next year.

8. How many times a day do you eat?

- We always get wet food for breakfast and dinner. If Mom is home all day, she divides our wet food into 3-4 smaller meals throughout the day since we always like wet food right out of the can – yes, we are super picky boys!

9. Do you have a favorite color?

- Mom’s favorite color is green, so all of our cat furniture, blankies, and kitty stuff are green. I guess that’s my favorite color, too, since Mom buys all my stuff.

10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary?

- Yes, I do. I love reading about my kitty pals and what they like to do.

Now I tag any kitty who reads this and wants to play!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I am happy to tell you that Thanksgiving came a little early to our house this year. One of my Grandmas is going to Florida next week to visit some of her friends for a couple of weeks so Mom decided to invite some friends and family over today for a full turkey dinner – woohoo!

Luke and I don’t usually care for a houseful of company, it’s WAY too noisy for us, but since I got a plateful of delicious oven roasted turkey for dinner tonight, I put up with everyone. I was even a bit social and came out and greeted everyone. Luke ate some turkey, too, but he doesn’t go crazy for it like I do. I go absolutely bonkers over turkey!

I reminded Mom that it’s okay if she wants to make another turkey dinner for the real Thanksgiving Day on November 26th. There’s no such thing as too much turkey as far as I’m concerned!

In Love with Turkey,
Tully]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ My sweet pal, Pigeon, tagged me to play Thanksgiving Tag. Here are the instructions:

“Here's a little tag game for Thanksgiving. Copy this into your diary, and then "tag" five other furs to respond. Let them know in a pawmail. In your diary begin by thanking the fur who tagged you."

List the five things that you're most thankful for this year:
1. I am thankful for the rescue group (IBOK Rescue) who saved me and Luke from the San Jose Animal Shelter in 2008. They rescued us when we were 4 weeks old, and without them, we wouldn’t be here. Mommy still sends pictures of us to our foster Mom.
2. I am thankful for my Mom and Dad who love me unconditionally (especially Mommy – she lets me get away with EVERYTHING and spoils me rotten – MOL!)
3. I am thankful for my comfortable, safe house and a warm bed to sleep in every night.
4. I am thankful for regular and nutritious meals my Mom feeds me – and especially when I get TURKEY (the kind that she eats!)
5. I am thankful for my brother, Luke. He is my littermate and my soul mate. Our rescue group did not want to split us up – thank goodness Mommy adopted us together!

I know I only have to list 5 things, but I want to add that I am very thankful for my Catster furiends. Luke and I have the best furiends around and we love you ALL.

I don’t want to put any furs on the spot who may not want to play, so if you are reading this diary entry and you’d like to play – please consider yourself tagged!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I received the most pawsome surprise today – I am Cat of the Day! Really I am meowless; I don’t know what to say. I’ve never received any honor or award before today, so I would like to thank Catster from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful surprise.

I am very fortunate to have some of the best furiends around here on Catster. I love all my pals and I am very touched by your warm wishes and generous gifts. This day really wouldn’t mean anything to me without your furiendships, which I treasure.

This honor is even more meaningful for me (and Mom) because of the fact that tomorrow is Veterans Day. Our Mom works for the VA and she greatly respects and appreciates the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have protected and defended our nation.

Did you know that our nation has 23 million living veterans? Although we usually think of their courage and sacrifice in war, they are also the reason we are able to speak openly and freely in public places, express ourselves openly in the media, and vote freely for those we choose to govern us. Mom says it is really a privilege for her to be able to work with and serve our country’s veterans.

Thank you again Catster for this pawsome honor and to my furiends for helping me to celebrate my special day. Please remember to hug a veteran tomorrow in honor of Veterans Day, November 11th, and tell them 'thank you' for their service to our great country!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I think November might be my favorite month of the year. The #1 reason is Turkey Day. Turkey is my all time favorite food. I usually get it in a can, and that’s okay, it’s better than not getting it at all, but the stuff Mom eats is the very best. Whenever she buys sliced roasted turkey and makes sandwiches with it, I race into the kitchen and jump up on the kitchen counter to get a bite (I know, that’s very bad manners). She makes me a small plate and puts it down on the floor; otherwise she’d never get her sandwich made. There’s a holiday this month when an entire bird is stuffed and roasted in the oven, oh my mouth is watering just thinking about it! It cooks half the day in the oven and smells delicious. It usually means we have several days of eating delicious turkey leftovers which is pawsome.

The other reason I love November is that it is usually cold enough that the flannel sheets and down comforter comes down from the closet and gets put on the bed. It is so soft, pillowy, and warm I can’t tell you how much I love it. I sleep on it every night next to Mom. She laughs at me because I usually sleep on my back with all four paws up in the air. Sometimes I snore – MOL.

The third reason we love November, and really it’s Mom’s reason, is that November 11 is Veterans Day. Mom works for the Veterans Administration and she absolutely loves the vets. How can you not love the men and women who fight for our country and sacrifice so much on our behalf?

So Mom says, on November 11, please hug a veteran and thank them for their service to our country. Thank you, furiends!]]></content:encoded>

Boy, talk about the most loved kitty on Catster. Calvin had so many friends who purred for him every day. We haven’t been on Catster as long as some furs, but we became friends with Calvin early on and followed his diary. He has a wonderful family who loved him very much. He was a very brave cat and gave that nasty cancer a good fight. We admired his wit and grace.

Mom couldn’t read us his entire diary entry, she is crying too much. We will read it tomorrow. Knead on, Calvin. Until we meet again, sweet friend.]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Today marks one year since we came to our forever home. Hard to believe I was a little orphaned kitten found abandoned on a street corner in a not-so-good part of town about 1 ½ years ago today.

Our rescue group saved me and my brother, Luke, from death row at the San Jose SPCA. The lady from our rescue group, Christine, who saved us, told our Mom that we grabbed her hair as she walked by our cage as if to say “save me, save me.” Mom has to choke back tears when she remembers this story.

Mom found us on the internet. She saw a cute photo one night when she was browsing Petfinder and e-mailed the rescue group who fostered us. Our foster Mom, Laurie, e-mailed Mom back almost immediately and said we were still available for adoption. Me and Luke are best buddies so we had to be adopted as a pair. No problem for our Mom, she always wanted 2 kitties anyway. Mom fell in love with us immediately, how could she not? We were so cute and lovable!

She and Dad were going out of town right after they met us, so we weren’t adopted right away. But Mom thought about us the entire week she was gone and she called Laurie as soon as they got home. She drove over to the adoption fair that following weekend and picked us up – the rest is history! We know we are very lucky kitties to find a forever home. Every cat deserves a good home.]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Holy catnip, it’s been pawsitively monsoon-like today! We don’t get much rain here, so when it does rain pretty steady ALL day, with gusts of wind, it’s something to meow about!

Thank goodness Mom’s got all the warm blankies out so we can snuggle and stay warm. She’s even got the flannel sheets on the bed – usually we don’t get those out until late October! I am in heaven right now. Did I mention she’s got a fire going in the fireplace, too? It’s very cozy inside…

This rain isn’t supposed to stay around very long, but it sure feels good. Everything is so parched and dry-looking from the long, hot summer, a good rain is exactly what we need. The birds seem to love it, too. They’ve been hanging out by the bird feeder tonight shaking the water off their tail feathers – MOL!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ We just logged on to Catster tonight and read a pawmail from our good pal, Kibbles, saying that I've been Halloween tagged. I've never done this before, so hope I do it right!

I'm supposed to name my five favorite things about Halloween and choose 6 friends to tag....hmmm....

What I Love About Halloween:

1. I'm 18 months old now, so this is only my second Halloween, but I do love the trick-or-treaters. When Mom opens the front door to pass out the candy, I try to escape - MOL!
2. I love the change in seasons - cooler weather means warm, snuggly blankies!
3. Cooler weather also means I snuggle next to Mom under the covers. She put the flannel sheets on this week, so I am in HEAVEN!
4. One of Halloween's symbols is spiders - I love to eat those - does that count?
5. I love looking at my furiends' Catster pages and seeing their Halloween decorations and costumes - so CUTE!

I can only choose 6 furiends to tag, this is going to be very tough!

Now i tag~
1.) Toby
2.) Kallie
3.) Annie
4.) Zeeke
5.) Daphne
6.) Boots]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ It’s another beautiful day. It’s 78 degrees outside and Mom just checked the 10-day forecast which says it’s supposed to stay in the 70’s all week. Could those heat waves we’ve been having finally be over? I hope so. Mom wants to bring out all the warm blankets and get ready for cool weather. I love to snuggle in warm blankies!

Our yard has had an abundance of wildlife in it today. I spent all morning sitting in the front window watching all the birds. Mom put a couple of birdfeeders out there and you should see all the birds that have been flying around the porch and front yard. She bought a gigantic bag of gourmet bird seed and has to refill the feeders every few days – those birds eat more than me and Luke combined!

Luke has been in the sunroom all morning. His eyes are glued on all the little squirrels that are out burying nuts in the lawn. There’s a huge oak tree in the corner of our yard, so we’ve got an abundance of squirrels that live nearby. Mom gave up on her tomato plants finally – squirrels got them all. Oh well, maybe next year.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Oh, what a lovely evening we are having! It’s a comfortable 73 degrees. There is a little red breasted bird sitting at the bird feeder on the front porch. He’s munching away on the gourmet bird seed Mom put out there.

I’m sitting on my cat perch behind the front window, about 4-5 feet away from him. My tail is flicking back and forth. I’m staring at him. He’s been there for almost 10 minutes now. Luke just woke up from his nap and is staring at the little bird, too. We are both just glued to the front window watching the bird. Raindrops are falling. Mom can’t believe it. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ For many months now, Luke and I have had this curious fascination with exploring the garage. The garage is attached to our kitchen, so anytime Mom opens the door to do the laundry, empty the trash, or go out there for any reason, Luke and I bolt out the door so we can go exploring. She tried to keep us out of the garage for the longest time, but eventually got tired of running after us when we’d sneak past her. She thought maybe if we went out a few times, we’d get bored eventually and want to come back in the house.

Well, Mom psychology didn’t work; we are still very intrigued by the garage and try to go out there every chance we get. There are countless hiding places out there, nooks and crannies to explore, and soft sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets up in the overhead loft. Mom figured we’ve been going up there to nap for a few hours when we don’t come back in the house for awhile. She always leaves the kitchen door open slightly when she knows we are out there so we can come back in the house later.

Today Dad had to go underneath the house to investigate a leaky pipe. Imagine his surprise when he saw me staring at him from underneath the house when he climbed down into the crawl space! “How did you get under here”? Mom heard him saying to someone. “Who are you talking to”? Mom wanted to know. “Tully is underneath the house” he answered back. “How did he get under THERE?” I heard Mom saying.

They’re not sure where the opening is in the garage that leads to underneath the house, but they are now certain that I have found a way to get down there somehow. Dad didn’t see Luke down there today, but they are pretty sure he knows how to get down there, too.

We heard Dad tell Mom that maybe we are digging a secret tunnel under the house so we can escape, like in “Escape from Alcatrez” – MOL.

So the cat’s out of the bag – Dad found my secret hiding spot –now I gotta find another one!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ We’ve been having a heat wave for the past couple of days. Yesterday and today it hit 98 degrees, and even hotter in some areas around us. It’s a drag for us because Mom closes up all the windows and runs this thing called the air conditioner. I miss the cool evening breezes and fog that is nature’s air conditioning.

But the good news is that we got to go outside for a stroller ride. Mom felt bad seeing me and Luke moping around the windows hoping to get a whiff of the evening air so she thought a stroller ride would cheer us up. Night strolls are fun. It’s calmer in the evening and we see all kinds of wildlife through our stroller. There are lots of kitties roaming around the neighborhood; we see some of them dashing across the streets as we stroll by. We strolled by a nearby creek and heard frogs croaking. Lots of crickets chirping, too. The sounds are really different at night; we hear things we don’t normally hear during the day.

Mom is watching the TV right now and the weather person is saying that tomorrow will be cooler – I hope we can open the windows tomorrow!

Our new friend, Jazzy, was also DDP! How pawsome is that? Not only did we meet lots of wonderful new furiends this weekend, 3 of them were honored today by Catster for writing about our fun times! We must do it again, it was SO much fun!

Today was a reality shock for us. Mom went off to work this morning and left us! How could she after we were gone ALL weekend? You’d think she could have taken a day off to spend with us. We moped around all day and anxiously waited for her to come home. I sat in the front window so she could see me when she came to the front door. I gave her my pitiful, sorrowful look to make her feel so GUILTY – it worked! I got lots of pets and some treats after dinner! I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to go. I love my pals, but I’ve never spent the night away from Mommy, and I knew she would miss me terribly if I left her. Luke called me “scaredy cat” when I told Mom I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go – I showed him!

Kibbles lives in a beautiful place called Maryland. I never heard of it before, but Mommy told me it is far, far away from our home in Catifornia. A very purrty tuxedo kitty named Isabelle flew all of us in for the weekend - the flight was a blast! I saw all kinds of birds as we flew through the air – I tried to catch one and eat it, but it got away.

When we finally arrived at Kibbles’ place there was catnip pizza for everycat! Boy, it was yummy – I ate 3 pieces! After dinner we pitched our tents in Kibbles’ lovely yard and built a roaring campfire. They have these interesting bugs in Maryland called “lightening bugs.” We don’t have these in Catifornia, but they are pretty cool to watch. I caught one and ate it - I love to eat bugs! There was laughing and giggling going on all night long. Grammy had to tell us to keep the noise level down a few times since we got kinda rowdy.

When we woke up this morning, Kibbles’ Grammy made us a yummy breakfast. She is a wonderful cook. I stuffed my face until I couldn’t eat anymore - pancakes, bacon, eggs, you name it. I think I gained a couple of pounds – mol! After breakfast we went swimming and boating at a beautiful lake – what fun that was! Luke and I went fishing with Tucker and Smokey – you should see the fish I caught, it was ginormous! Grammy is gonna cook up the fish we caught for dinner plus some other yummy seafood. Sorry to cut this short, but I gotta get back to the fun.

So far, Kibbles’ weekend sleepover has been a blast!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom decided that today is laundry day. She usually does laundry on the weekends, but since she and Daddy have plans to do other stuff this weekend, she decided to take care of it today. We like to help her; laundry day is a lot of fun.

She strips all the sheets off the bed and we immediately start dive-bombing all the pillows and comforters that are piled up on the floor. Our Mom has a pillow fetish, but you didn’t hear that from me. She’s got 2 body pillows plus both she and Daddy have 2 pillows each to sleep on. There’s barely enough room for 2 cats and 2 adults to sleep on the giant king size bed because of all her pillows!

Its great fun for me and Luke because the pillows make fun toys, and since there are so many of them, we like to take turns hopping and diving into them. When Mom tried to put the freshly washed sheets on the bed today, I jumped up on the bed because I LOVE clean sheets! She picked me up 3 times and moved me to my cat perch so she could continue putting the sheets back on the bed, but I kept running back and diving underneath the sheets. Luke saw me and thought this looked like fun, too, so he joined in.

Mom finally gave up and let us continue playing on the bed. She went out to the living room to work on something else. I wish every day was laundry day!

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ I knew it was too good to last. Mom’s had the windows open every morning and every night for us the past few weeks because the temperatures have been oh SO nice. What are purrfect temperatures for Mom? Anywhere between 70 and 80 degrees. And if it dips down into the 60’s when we go to sleep at night, she is very happy. She pulls the comforter up all around her and we snuggle up next to her for a cozy night of sleep.

So what happened? Yesterday it was in the 90’s; today it was in the 90’s – ugh! That means we have to have the windows closed so we can have air conditioning. I sit by the front window pleading with my sweet innocent eyes hoping Mom will crack it open so I can whiff the fresh air. Why does she have to be so mean? Can’t we open it just a crack? I love to stick my little pink nose out the window and breathe the smells of summer. I love to hear the chirping birds. I even miss the obnoxious sounds the squirrels make. It’s no fun when the windows are all closed up.

I hope tomorrow is cooler!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ OMC – we got the coolest new toy today! It’s a tall cat tree, the biggest one we have so far! Mommy says we are getting so big that we knock all the furniture over when we run through the house. She bought all our cat furniture when we were just wee lads, so some of it is too small for us now. This new cat tree is ginormous! No sooner did Mom drag it in the house (she almost couldn’t get it through the front door – mol!) and Luke and I were all over it. It’s got four different levels and a cool little rope we can bat around on one of the perches. We battled for the top perch, Luke thinks he is the alpha cat in our house, but I showed him – I knocked him off – it’s MY spot! We played on it for hours today. Normally we’d be napping in the afternoon, but this is way too much fun!

I can’t wait until Mommy and Daddy go to sleep tonight…our house is gonna ROCK…we are gonna have SO much fun – woo hoo! Thank you, Mommy!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Last night it was a tad chilly. We love it when the fog comes in and cools us down in these warm summer months. Mom had the bedroom window open a crack so we could feel the cool air coming in. She likes it when the room is cool at night because she can burrow under the covers to keep warm, but what about me? I need some warmth too.

So I found the warmest part of Mom to snuggle up against – her neck. I draped myself across her neck to get nice and warm. My long luxurious fur went in her mouth – mol! But she didn’t make me move, she gave me a few loving pets then went back to sleep. I make a lovely scarf, don’t you think?]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Mom's been very emotional this week. First one of her good friends lost his doggie this past weekend. He died very suddenly and unexpectedly from internal bleeding. Then she heard that our good friend, Ruben, had a scare yesterday at the vets. He had some eye troubles and the vet was saying that a "tumor" had to be ruled out. OMC, we were so scared for Ruben and his Mommy! Today we heard that Ruben will be okay and will not lose one of his beautiful green eyes - thank goodness!

Even though we are young and healthy, Mom worries about us. She still feels terrible about losing her cat, Carlos, last September. He seemed so healthy. One day he suddenly stopped eating and Mom took him to the vet. He had a tumor in his belly which was diagnosed as intestinal lymphoma. She tried to save him by having the tumor removed and then starting chemo, but it was too advanced. He died less than two weeks after his diagnosis. She took it very hard. But losing Carlos led to her adopting us, so there was a "silver lining to the cloud", as they say.

Mom's been hovering over us this week giving us extra love and pets. These health scares have her worried, but you can't dwell on what could happen. She cherishes every day she has with us. We wish happiness and good health to all our Catster friends.]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ If you read my brother, Luke's, diary last week, you heard about the ant invasion in our food bowls. Mom came home tired from work last Thursday to find the kitchen and dining room covered in a trail of ants! We hadn't been able to eat ALL day and we nearly starved to death. Thank goodness she came home when she did, we didn't know what we were going to do about those little pests!

I'm happy to report that the ants haven't come back. Mom bought some of those little round white ant traps and put them in various spots around the house. She hid them in back of things, but guess what? Lukey has been playing with them. Mom caught him twice playing with something in her bedroom, and it turns out he picks up the ant traps and tries to hide them. Well, now there is one missing. It's the one she placed behind the fridge. She's looked EVERYWHERE for it, but she cannot find it. Lukey's not talking, he's got it well hidden somewhere.

What the heck did he do with it???]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Finally! We get to stay home and relax today. Mom and Dad took us on yet another RV trip - geez! This time we went to visit their good friends who live in Prunedale (near Monterey) for the 4th of July holiday.

They live on 6 acres so there is plenty of room to park an RV. Luke and I hung out in the RV while Mommy and Daddy visited. A bunch of people came inside the RV and told us what good kitties we are to travel with our pawrents. Mommy's friend has 2 ragdoll kitties but they aren't as friendly as me and Luke. One hides in the closet and the other hides under the bed so Mommy doesn't see them much when she visits. They just adopted a little brother, Bruno. He is a black kitten and just as cute as a button. Mommy's friend was walking into Safeway about a week ago and a little girl was looking for homes for a mama kitty and her kittens (foreclosure). That is so sad, it breaks our Mommy's heart to think about all the pets that are losing their homes because of these hard economic times. We are so happy Bruno found a good home. If Mommy had a bigger house and more land, she'd adopt more kitties. Daddy says 2 is enough.

Well, my sunny window spot is waiting for me and Luke is already sprawled out on the cat perch catching some zzz's. Happy Sunday Everycat!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Man, it was hot today! We drove to the coast yesterday in the RV and spent the night in Pescadero. It was so foggy and cool there, we loved it. When we drove back home today it was about 95 degrees. We came home early because Mom and Dad were supposed to drive to San Francisco to meet relatives for a late lunch. There was a huge traffic jam on the freeway, so they couldn't get there in time. They dropped us off at home, thank goodness, so we could nap in the air conditioned house. It is so hot, we are just lounging on top of our cat perches. I like to have the windows open so I can breathe the fresh air, but Mom says it is too hot. We have to have the windows closed.

It is supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. I wish we could go back to the coast...]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ This was a great weekend! Mommy was home Friday so we got extra love and attention from her. The day started with an early morning stroller ride which we love. It was very quiet and peaceful and there were birdies everywhere. We saw a couple of doggies on our stroll and Luke hissed at one of them. Gotta keep those doggies in line - they need to know who is in charge!

Saturday Mommy's friend and her husband came to our house for dinner. They never met us before so we were the center of attention all evening. We acted very cute and playful with them so they got all our toys out and played with us. Mommy combed us with the Zoom Groom afterwards - it felt so good!

Today we got to go out in the backyard on our harnesses. I always try to go in back of the shed and places I'm not supposed to go (hehe). I also try to eat a lot of grass. Mommy wouldn't let eat too much because last time I ate grass I barfed when I came back in the house. I try and make sure I barf on the carpet so Mommy has to get out the cleaning supplies, but today I didn't throw up.

Mommy got on her computer this afternon and I tried to nap on her lap. She put the computer aside and pet me, but I decided to jump down and sleep on my cat perch. I was just testing Mommy - I gotta make sure I am always her #1 priority (which I am). Yeah, I got Mommy wrapped around my little paw!]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Not only is this my very first diary entry, but we just got back from our first RV trip! Mom was so nervous before we left because she was not sure if we’d like it, but she’s calling our first venture a “success.” Mom and Dad have only had the RV a couple of weeks, so they are RV novices themselves, but Mom was determined that if she trained us properly, we could become travelin’ cats. She got some great advice from other Catsters and some RV forums about how to travel with kitties. She bought us a doggie crate that is plenty big for 2 large kitties and put our favorite blankey, some toys, and a small kitty litter box inside the crate before we left. She bought some Rescue Remedy just in case we got too stressed out (especially Lukey who is a big scaredy cat), but she didn’t even have to use it. She did spray some Feliway in the crate before we left and that seemed to keep us pretty calm.

We have been in the RV several times before this trip with Mom and Dad but this was the first time Dad started the motor and actually drove it someplace. Man, is it loud! We went someplace that was pretty close to home for our first time, only about 1.5 hours away, including a couple of quick stops. We were a little scared for the first 20-30 minutes -did I mention how noisy it is? But then we just kind of kicked back in our crate and made the best of it – Mom was so proud of us! She sat in a chair next to our crate and talked very calmly to us about where we were going and what we were going to see when we got there.

Once we arrived at the park, Dad hooked up the water and electricity and opened up this thing called a “slide-out” that makes the RV much bigger. The noise was a little much for us, so Mom kept us in the bedroom while all this commotion was going on. Once things were situated, we were allowed out of our crate and we explored every nook and cranny of that RV we could find. We looked out every single window and were excited to see lots of birdies! They were so close to our window I could taste ‘em! There were so many new sights and sounds, we couldn’t sleep! At 2 a.m. this morning, Mom could hear us roaming throughout the coach, jumping on all the furniture, still looking out every single window we could find. She finally got up and opened up a can of wet food for us, hoping we’d go back to sleep if we had full bellies, but no chance of that! This RV trip was too much of an adventure for us to spend the night sleeping – there’s plenty of time for that when we get home – mol!

Mom is so very happy that we seemed to enjoy the trip, although she hopes next time we will try and catch some zzz’s so she can get some sleep. Speaking of sleep, now that we are home, I’m going to go and lay down for a LONG nap – RV trips are exhausting!]]></content:encoded>
