She is leaving us to go be with him,her Mom and sister. She will be Indiana. She is leaving before the sun rises on Friday and will be gone a month. Maybe longer. Depends on how things go there and here at our Ponderosa. Precious and I promised to be very good for Gpa. He is busy calving. The grand kids will come to visit us. Gma thinks she can hire them to help Gpa with his housekeeping. OMD! She has so many lists to make to leave him.So he knows where everything is. Important stuff,like my treat stash. All the foodies Gma lined up for him. (He even gets to eat stuff, Gma won't let him eat often when she is here) Maybe this means I'll get more treats? Gpa's more generous with the goodies and forgets how little I am. Tomorrow, she spends the day packing,canceling her May appts. Checking and rechecking all the to-do's. Well, I'll tell you! Gma is having Easter at our house. She is fixing chicken.....ssssssssssooooooooo that means Mazy and I will have some bites for Easter dinner too! She wanted to do Turkey and that is great!!!! Snow is still covering the ground and it is cold outside. So, she couldn't use our hooman-sissies oiless turkey cooker. She said, it was too Cold for her to try and stand at the gas grill to do steaks! Hooman-sis is serving Ham dinner in 2wks. for grandson's confirmation. This is how we ended up with Chicken! Lucky for Easter bunnies, it isn't RRRRRabbit! Mazy and I would have liked that too! However, then there would be NO Easter Basket with goodies....Gotta have some goodies! The two grand-kids will play with us. Love on us. Hold and massage us.... All the extra attention is always enjoyed! We sure are tired when they go home. Usually, Mazy and I make all the noise around here! I'm pretty quiet! Mazy is another story...she has super duper hearing! Considers herself the security system at the ranchero...OMC,can she bark!!!!!!!!!! I mean she is little and I out weigh her by about 4 lbs. She's very vocal,where I'm quiet like Gpa. I was chosen to be PRINCESS OF THE WEEK at PRINCESS DIVA AND PRINCE CHARMING GROUP.....I just couldn't believe it! I'm so honored and so thrilled.... Now I can strut my kitty stuff, the way Mazy strutted her doggie stuff when she was PRINCESS OF THE WEEK! I mean, she rubbed my nosie in it all week long! Like an elephant, a kitty does not forget these things! So now it's her turn...payback can be sssoooooooooo much FUN! I started by meowing the scoop to Gpa at coffee time. Then I went to group and the furs wanted to know all kinds of things about me and the prairie. So I answered their interesting questions. I posted my Princess picture...and thank goodness catster didn't have a bunch of fleas today.....Then I stole Mazy's favorite rocking chair and curled up for a nap in the sunshine. I'm walking around swinging my butt just like she did! Well, certainly this week,I'll have more puter time? I'm always competing with Mazy for the puter! Here's some other quick things going on at my house. We're scurrying around trying to get ready for Easter. Easter is at our house this year. This means, I will have Jaxcen and McKenzie to spoil me that day. They are the grand-kids....Mazy has learned she has to share the kids attention with me.... I'm really happy with Gma's menu, because Mazy and I will be having some chicken for dinner. My hooman-sis said, no ham! We're having ham for Jaxcen's confirmation dinner.(2 wks. from Easter) I don't care, cuz, it is at their house and not at our house! So, I won't be there! The rest of the meal isn't things I'll eat....I don't like salads,vegetables,crescent rolls, scalloped potatoes, Norwegian lefse or pies.................... The pies are Lemon and Apple,but I don't like Pie! Maybe, I can have a spoon of ice cream for dessert? Still very wintry here......Ground is still covered with snow. Last year it was 81 on Good Friday. Some people had their gardens already planted. Gma had our windows all washed inside and out. This year, the people will still be wearing winter clothes. Last year, Mazy and I were playing outside. Sunning ourselves.... Hunting mice,birds and gophers......Not this year! The gophers are still snuggled in where they can stay warm! Hurry Spring! Hurry Spring! This is the daily cry at our house.... Gpa will start calving very soon. We'd like the snow to go before we start. Gma is anxious to get out and start cleaning up the yard. Planning and planting the vegetable garden. Mazy and I are interested in Bugging the barn kitties, because they tease us through the house windows. They will even sit on the cellar roof and look into the windows. The barn kitties are not nice to me! I think, they are jealous that I live in the house????Hey, they have it good! Gma and Gpa feed them kibbles and canned cat meat the good stuff! Gma cooks people meat for them too...... Gpa puts straw in a couple buildings for them to stay warm. He leaves some hay in the ranch-yard for them to lay on. So they can sun themselves and not be sitting on the snow. I spend some time as an Admin. in Christian Dogs and Cats Group. Helping with devotionals and games for the furs to enjoy. This is a much biggest job than we thought it would be. We salute any Fur who helps in groups. There have been some days in the 30's without a major windchill factor. Then I go out for a little fresh air. Usually don't stay too long! Gma and Gpa watch closely because there are a couple barn kitties that want to have a fight with me! I don't know why???? I usually squat,lay my ears back, keep my eyes on them and try to look for a moment to escape. There is a doodle of hay in the ranchyard. We all like to sit or lay on it. Not as cold as the snow pack! We have a couple kitties that are growing up and trying to become Bullies! Can you believe it?????? After Gma cooks meatz for them...How can they try and treat me,so disrespectfully???????? She has cooked 3 times since Valentine's Day for them. Besides their canned food,milk and dry kibbles! Mazy, the little doxie who is my fur-sis and puts up with my catness....She has a Brand New Rectangular, Extra Soft, extra thick,extra fuzzy cranberry red box style bed! The other day she was off sleeping under a blankie on a chair or something????? I thought, she's not using this...I'll give this a TRY! Well, it is the Cadillac of small beds! I JUST LOVE IT! I curled up,went right to sleep,staying there for hours. The REAL SHOCK IS: Mazy didn't growl,make me move or pitch a fit! She just looked at me like, What are you doing???? Kinda shook her head, with big eyes and looked to Gma for answers. Gma said, "Mazy-Precious still has ooowwwies...let her use your bed! If she really likes it, we will buy her one too!" Mazy trotted off leaving me to snuggle in and rest myself. I was so very HAPPY! I'M ALSO SPENDING ALOT OF HOURS ON THE MASTER'S BIG BED. I sleep there during the day and Mazy at night. I'm the night watch cat and she's the day watch pup...Also, why I have so much trouble getting to catster! I stay awake all night and sleep almost all day. I think, I'm getting a bed like Mazy's for Valentine's Day? I'm slowing getting better but still limp after laying still for an extended amount of time. After Mazy had surgery,I injured myself,Gma took a fall.......Last Saturday night,Gpa choked on supper! Some meat was stuck in his throat. Way down deep! He was up all night trying to get it up or down. He went to the ER on Sunday. They put an IV on and added a med to dissolve the food. He couldn't have anything but liquids and soft stuff until last night. Regular food went o.k. Today he sees a Doc for a referral to a Gastro Doc. They will probably do a scopy thing. The ER Doc wants him to find out why this is happening. January has been bitter cold and filled with medical stuff for the whole pack....hoomans too! We had a moo born on a very cold afternoon. Gpa had to pull the calf. He's doing fine and living in the milk-house under a heat lamp. He will stay on the bottle. His Mom is coming round but doesn't need to be trying to care for him. Now Gpa has 3 bottle babies.... The Funny thing is the milk-house is the main feeding station for the barn kitties. They left right away but curiosity got the best of them! They came in and found the heat from the lamp. The moo sleeping away, curled up on hay. They decided sharing with him wasn't bad. Most of them moved right back in... Sure glad, I didn't have to share the home with the baby moo. Gma said," there were times,she had to drag baby animals into the house to save them" We are trying to stay warm! It is -25 today and forecast of -50+ tomorrow! Only Gpa is outside doing stuff! Mazy,Gma and I are hiding out ....Thank goodness for potty pads and litter boxes! A well padded Fur bed,placed neatly in a canvas lawn chair in the sunroom. Angel Baby's extra large pillow bed. Gma says, "I'm still looking for more comfort! It's like Goldie Locks and the Three Bears! I haven't found just Right!" I'm using Gpa's lap when I can. Still perching on the soft loveseat in the sunroom. I still must check out the weather without going outside. My appetite still isn't normal but I'm eating enough. I tend to eat more than I need.... Kitchen Imprisonment ended over the weekend. Except Gma watches and doesn't let her do any of the big jumpy things. The stitches look great and will dissolve. Probably won't have fur there until summer? HeHe...I think that is FUNNY! Since, I have such thick fur.... I did my share of teasing her during this TIME! It was payback for when I had the abscess surgery. I pushed it to the LIMITS with Gma ... I was playing musical gates! I'd sit on the living room side and want to come into the kitchen....Then I'd sit there and want Gma to open it up and let me go through again. After a dozen times in just a few hours,as the days passed....Gma lost her patience with me...So then,she'd put me in the sunroom and entry and leave me awhile for her to regroup. Mazy tolerated my teasing and catness way better than Gma did! A few nights ago,Gpa was taking me to the sunroom. Everyone was getting ready for bed...I don't know what got into me? Gpa was on the landing holding me....I thought for a second this old kitty was CATWOMAN from Batman! I jumped from his arms....the landing was HARD!!!!! Gma didn't know about the leaping....by morning I was limping! I wasn't myself! I was laying here, there and everywhere...trying to find a comfortable spot! I backed off on my chow.......I HAVE A HUGE APPETITE like everyone in this house! Now Gma was worried! Gpa told Gma what had happened...They waited as Gma's concern grew. Gpa was going to town,Gma said, get to the Fur Doc and get her some pain medicine. See if, that helps???? Gma was worried that it could be alot of things. A sprain,a back or hip injury,a disc,etc..... Gpa got the special kitty pain medicine. 1 per 24 hrs. for 3 days. The pill is so tiny....didn't need the stupid pill popper! I swallowed it right down with just a rub on the throat. I've not been crying, as I'm not a very vocal kitty anyway.... The PILL was like MAGIC! I felt like eating and I made potty. I spent the evening on Gpa's lap in the rocking chair. I slept on Angel Baby big pillow bed all night long. Gma checked at 2 a.m. It was the PAIN of it ALL that upset my Kitty cart! I was a little stiff, when I 1st. got up this morning. A little limping in the leg hind leg. I ate,pottied and went to nap on the soft loveseat in the sunroom. Gma thinks now,I'll be fine.... Just a few days for all the ouchies to work there way out of this old kitty! NO MORE PLAYING CATWOMAN!!!!! Gpa will hang on to me much tighter, if carrying me! I LOVE TO BE CARRIED! HE FEELS SO BAD....... FUNNY THING IS it must be just our month???? Gma tripped last weekend in the house....She was bent out of shape! Gpa has been putting a tractor back together. He was under it...Saw something FALLING! Said he just closed his eyes! A com-a-long jack hit him in the cheek, below they eye!!! Meowie ...Meowie!!!!!!!! I can feel it just thinking about it! He has skinned places and bruise below his eye. The goose egg has went down in the last 2 days... EVERYONE'S THING WAS ACCIDENTALLY EXCEPT for little Mazy's surgery...That was a scheduled procedure. They got away from Gma around the holidays. I kinda feel bad for her,cuz, I didn't like it in a crate, when I had my abscess on my butt! Nasty feral cat bit me.... I hated the crate time! I'm less of a cry baby than Princess Mazy! I just know, the week of the 10th. through the 17th. will be Hell around here! The fur Doc,says, she can't jump for 1 week. Well, the only way to stop that is a crate....She hasn't been in a crate for over 4 yrs. This is not going to be good! Mazy and I jump to lay on the backs of the rocking chairs and the loveseats. So we can see and have sunshine on us. We don't know until after the surgery if Gma can pick her up or not??? Since you hold and carry doxies like a football..... We also think the house will be very noisy! Cuz, Mazy is very vocal.... You lock her up! She's going cry and whale up a storm! Unless the fur Doc,give her drugs to keep her more quiet! I am neutered and de-clawed...I was a Special lap baby before I found myself roaming the prairie looking for food and shelter. I've been the Queen of the Ponderosa for several years now. I moved into the house about 4 yrs. ago. I have the manners of Royalty. I do not hiss,except when a barn cat threatens me. I'm Quiet and not very vocal. I only meow if I want my food. Can't leave it down as Mazy the doxie will eat it and leave her own food. I will Paw on your leg, if I'd like you to sit and rest awhile. So I can lay on your lap and Purr you into a nap. I'll flip over and sleep there on your legs too..... I am patient and wait for my lap time with Gpa. We snooze in the rocking chair after supper. I stand guard all night over the Gma,Gpa and Mazy. She takes the day shift,while I sleep most of the day. I wait under the dinner table for the meal to be over. Gpa has meat for Us. We have few bites every night. Then I eat a little more kibbles and wait for the snuggling time. You can look in my ears,examine my teeth,brush me,clean my paws, carry me anywhere and I will not complain. I like Everyone and think everyone likes CATS! THE NEWEST THING and sure to Impress Santa Paws is what happened yesterday. I decide to brave the cold and go out for a short stroll. Mazy lasted 2 minutes. Gpa was shoveling snow off the patio. I decide to check out the hay bales. I think, I fell asleep??? Gpa went in for dinner. Gma ask about me...Gpa came out and called me. I didn't hear him....He kinda forgot about me. Company showed up at 12:30 and stayed to visit until chore time. Gma came looking and calling....I was by then COLD and laying on part of a hay bale in the ranchyard. I ran fast to get back inside. It was about 3p when I made it back inside...... Shortly, there was this black stuff in front of Gma's oven. She thought it came from a spill inside. Then she saw some more yucky! I was then on Gpa's lap..... I was the guilty party! I'd tried to stay warm in the unheated workshop. I stepped in black oil junk! OMC! My 1 hind paw was plastered between my toes....My 4 paws are white as Snow! Well, Gma tried a rag with dish soap while I laid so quietly on Gpa's lap. No one holding me still... Didn't work...So then she tried dry paper towels...Nope still there! Finally degreaser in spray bottle,plus a damp rag Finally most of the uck was off! I NEVER RAISED ANY FUSS AT ALL! The neighbor was so surprised at how many manners I have! Later, I trotted off and finished washing my paws....I HATE dirty Paws! So that's what happened to me on a Cold Saturday here on the Prairie. Gma has decided next year she will do one of all the furs. The 2 angel pups, Mazy and Queen Precious. She really liked the Shutterfly service that has replaced Kodak. There were lots of choices on sale,too.....so she could buy more. The card she chose had room for 9 pics. Using that style she could put all 4 furs on the same card. Sounds cool to me! We also had a little rain and we really needed it. The leaves are all wet and soggy now. The chill of fall is in the air. Last weekend it was in the middle 80's. This week it has been cold. Temperatures ranging from 20 to 40's. Tomorrow we are suppose to make 60. The days are growing shorter and it is now dark pretty early here on the prairie. We don't change times until November. The sunshine isn't has warm as in the spring and summer. Gpa comes in earlier now. SSSSOOOOO I really love that! I have more lap time with him. Gpa turned 62 yesterday. I passed on the birthday cake. It was NOT made with shrimp or chicken!!!!Now that the ground is a little damp...maybe Gpa can start hauling home hay bales. We've been afraid of fire.... Very few have hauled hay home. Our yard is plastered with sticks and leaves. Gma and her helper haven't started raking yet. We do have tub of sticks all over the yard to haul away. Since it has been chilly here....I've been napping on the big bed. Not too excited about going outside. Mazy and I have been playing in the house. Pirate Day came and went, I was totally out of the loop! Jeez, what is goin' on??????? As you can see I started working on this in September and Today is October 2nd., by accident I didn't miss Balloon Day. Enjoy the balloon popping at your house. A favorite activity of mine....Then go out,enjoy the sunshine and take a roll in the leaves. We have Tons of leaves falling now! Now back to where I was in my verison of where I've been.... Well,I've been on the back burner,ever since Gpa and Gma planted the vegetable garden....I still don't see the attraction for them! Made lots more work around here and less lap time for me! Besides, it's not like the garden was growing tasty shrimp or grill chicken breast for me! EWH! They were growing vegetables! An allergy to vegetables! They are yucky! Not passing this kitties mouth! I did wander out there and play in the dirt a few times. I wanted to see what Gma was doing that she spent so much time over there. I found butterflies and insects to chase. Except for that, I was pretty bored with all the hoeing,watering,picking and such. Despite the drought,the dirty dozen of garden pests,fungus and such..... The garden still produce enough to fill, 1 freezer with frozen vegetables. The pickin',cleanin',blanchin',freezin' and cannin' took way too much time! Now the root vegetables are all harvested. Apples were brought to the house this past week. If salsa,pasta sauce,relish cannin' weren't enough. She's been makin' applesauce. Plannin' on dryin' apples,more sauce and some freezin' apples for bakin'. Made apple bars today...They smelled good as they baked. But they aren't shrimpies, so I'll pass! I hate the garden! I have to stay in the sunroom when she is working with food. I throw myself down in front of the stove or kitchen sink. I DO NOT MOVE! I expect everyone to step around me! GMA SAID, it is a train wreck waiting to happen! Both of us will end up being scalded and burnt if she drops the canner! So I lay in the sunshine on the loveseat and pout,while she processes all this food! Now as to the missed birthday:well, you know they had to make up my birthday,since I wandered into their place a few years ago. The Vet is only guessing at my age. I'm not tellin'!I prefer not to celebrate birthdays..... I want to just stay 1 year ahead of that crazy doxie, Mazy that I live with. This way, I'll always be the oldest and I should be the BOSS! However, I haven't convinced her, I am the Boss!!!!!!!!! Everyday, that Gpa holds me in the rocking chair at night is a party day for me!I don't play with toys so they need not buy me any....More stuffies for Mazy,I guess? I just like lots of massages,plenty to eat,assorted proteins from the table...but, hold the veggies! Nice clean litter boxes,fluffy pillows,blankets on chairs and my kitty treats....It's a Good life and I'm well cared for and a little spoiled!What kitty isn't??? Just to keep them on their toes, I change my likes of protein,almost daily! I've been on a chicken breast thingy lately. Last night they had fresh northern pike fillets and they caught the fish themselves. I wasn't crazy about it! Mazy gobbled hers right up! I ate 2 bites and strolled off,saying it wasn't my Alaskan Salmon!!!Gpa said, she wasn't into our fish! Gma said, she's a CAT! She changes her mind as often as you do! She's a fuss butt just like you! I went in and laid in Gpa's rocker while the debated the pros and cons of kitty verses puppy..... Remember he is Catman and she is the Puppygal...... Thank goodness Gma only has 1 crazy mini-doxie! Gpa is feeding about 40 feral cats!He's says, there are not that many! Gma says, oh yes there are! We used to go for their supplies every 2 wks. Now we go almost every week!Gma even cooks beef for them. Says, we'd better get both our deer licenses filled this year. We need 1 for their sausage,the steak for Mazy and me! The rest to freeze and cook for the outside cats.... They are not as wild as Gma would like them to be! They start sitting on the patio in the afternoon waiting for the evening feeding.They continue to dig up Gma's yard and flowerbeds. One of them took me, while I was out and scratched my head and bit my ear!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had another abscess but Gma found it. It was treated right away...I didn't have to go to the Vet! Right now, Gma is defrosting a roaster of soup bone beef meat for them. She will roast it in the oven,trim it all up... cut it, into bite size pieces. She did this a couple days ago... She doing it again,SSSSSSSSSSoooo...................... They can wait until Friday to go for new kitty foods. Friday is Gpa's birthday,so he can have seafood supper in the capitol city.Grand daughter has a basketball game on Thursday, they have to attend. Her season is almost over. Grandson's basketball will start in November. Gma and Gpa fished Saturday and Sunday with the grandson. They had 12 pike to clean. They had a picnic lunch at the lake too. Gma ran to granddaughter's basketball game. Should be storming because Gpa/Gma played All Weekend and this Never happens! Gma said, they are wearing themselves out,working 7 days a week. They have to reduce their stress and play more....I'm signing up for Gpa to take a Nap after lunch! So you know where I would be,don't ya???????? Still have pasta sauce and more applesauce to make. Cleaning fish left Gma's hands too sore to handle the canner and such. Will have to wait a couple days for the ritis boys to settle down..... She is waiting for the wind to blow more leaves out of the trees before the raking starts. She has some help hired, to ease her load. Gpa has the fence down around the garden,dug the soil up and sprayed for pests. He working on corrals. Too dry to haul bales right now. Big risk of fire! Still no rain.....He has hundreds and hundreds of bales to stack,load and haul. His old machinery can only bring in 16-18 per load. Today we picked up cottonwood branches for a couple hours. As my people drag themselves to the house at the end of the day. Since I'm into napping on Grandpa's lap.....I'm most upset with the growing season and their schedules. They come in at night eat,cleanup and shortly they are off to bed...... I am NOT IMPRESSED with where they have spent their time. Grandpa has been busy with spring calving...We now have 3 bottle calves. The neighbor didn't want to feed his 2 anymore. So he called Grandpa and ask him to take them. Grandpa has been fencing,fencing and more fencing repair and replacement. He rebuilt a small section of the cattle corral. There is alot more to do there. An old cow tore out the cattle chute.He had to build a new one. Gpa and Gma have been busy with this vegetable garden project. Gpa had to prep the soil...work it all up for Gma. This took a whole day...He still has some work to do in 1 area before the assorted squashes,cucumbers and sweet peppers can be planted. Gpa helped Gma mark off the garden,label the rows and helped plant the potatoes. Here is what they put in their garden: potatoes,2 types of sweet corn, 4 kinds of tomatoes,orange and purple carrots,yellow onions, green and yellow beans,red cabbage,broccoli, cauliflower,swiss chard,parnips,red and white radishes, red romaine,and 2 types of mixed lettuces. We still have cucumbers,cantaloupe,assorted sweet colored bell peppers and more tomatoes to plant. It was so dry when they planted a couple days ago...Gma had to water everything really good. The 1st. night the temps. dropped into a touchy zone.....Never froze at 35 but close. The next night when the weather was very iffy: Gma covered all the started planted with buckets and flower pots to protect them. Yesterday she left the covers on because it was so cool. The plants had a portable greenhouse around them. Last night it stormed.... We had wind,thunder,lightening,hard rain,hail... it was a very noisy night! This morning we have big water holes all over. Even with the wind, our gauge caught a good 1". So now Gma doesn't have to water for awhile. We also supervised her weeding in flowers,watering apple trees and planting some annuals in pots. Moss roses,red geraniums, asparagus ferns. She has a double red begonia and a mixed planter the grand kids gave her for Mother's Day. She planted daisy,black eyed susans and cone flowers from seeds. She had to haul all her pots into the cattle room when the weather took a nose dive... We also had the car to cleanup,a gas grill,patio furniture,steps and patio....Of course, there are always dirty clothes and house to take care of.... Some baking on a rainy day. A couple supply runs thrown in there.Yesterday the house was toasty as Gma baked beer bread and a pound cake. Despite the heavy outside schedule, Gma cooks every night for us. She has made Mazy and I salmon,chicken breast and venison...So we've been having a smorgie around our kibbles. By our house, we had a roll over accident... Gma stayed with the woman until ambulance and medical help arrived. The pickup rolled 3 times and was destroyed. The lady had guardian angels watching over her. She was banged up pretty bad but will heal. I've been taking as many naps as I can on the master's bed or the loveseat in the sunroom. Gma and Gpa have been making me go out for fresh air.......Phooey! I'm an old CAT now and not into hunting anymore! I didn't like supervising yard, garden and ranch projects... The herd of barn kitties have been making Gma mad! They dig in her flowers and in the yard....Leaving little holes and pressies all over! Gma says," is that anyway to behave???" When they feed them SO well and they have acres and acres for litter boxes.... So you see, here on the prairie our days just Blur one into another! Then we start all over again...... THE WEATHER THE PAST 2 WEEKS HAS BEEN REALLY WEIRD....We've had everything from 30 to 88 for the high. Thursday night rain finally came and stayed until last night. We've had 2 plus inches and we needed it badly. It was sunny early this morning but now it's pretty cloudy. OMC!!!!The wind is pounding on us again... We used Monday and Saturday for big house cleaning. I hate the vacuum,so I go hide. The washer and dryer ran the better part of 3 days. Jeez,there are only 2 hoomans here...Gma did wash our blankies and scatter rugs too! I love curling up on the thick scatter rugs. I took lots of naps while it rained...I was resting up from Gma making Mazy and I stay outside with her on Tuesday and Wednesday.... Boy! Did we do alot of yardwork. We tore out 2 flowerbeds to plant different perennials. We moved a bunch of lilies to other flower beds. Shoveled a ton of dirt. Cleaned the rest of the big car garage after Gpa serviced the lawn mowers. We washed all the mud off the car and polished it up. Mazy and I sat inside while Gma sprayed Tempo for bugs around the house yard,the car garage,garbage building and milk house. We pruned a bunch of branches and took the mess away. The milk house is where the barn kitties eat. They call it that because 50 yrs. ago, everyone had some milk cows. They separated the cream from the milk in that building. Those barn kitties had fresh cow milk everyday... Can you believe it? They went for a supply run on Thursday night.Yep, the barn kitties were almost out of food... I can't believe, they schedule their shopping around those feral cats,but they do...... I had to hang out in the cattle room. Cuz, Gma says, "I'll teach Mazy to counter surf or knock off lamps trying to tease her while the hoomans are gone." I took dozens of naps this past week on the master's bed. As I was so tired from all the fresh air on the nice days. Rainy days are for napping and snuggling. Friday, Mazy and I played Nursies to Gma. She had a migraine..Hasn't had one in years. It was a very nasty one. Gpa was off selling yearling steers in South Dakota instead of North Dakota where we live. They sold well and we are so happy! Gpa helped work the knots out of Gma's shoulders and neck to make her better. They put pain ointments on her too. She had to take medicine several times...She hardly ever takes a pain pill and had to have 3. Saturday, she worked in the house 1/2 day. Cooked for us like always. She made a Big pot of vegetable-beef-barley soup the day she was sick. Also some peanut butter crispy bars for Them. They had surprise company on Saturday for coffee time. Gpa was running here and there doing all kinds of stuff. Gma and Gpa had to play electrician and plumber this weekend. A new plug in the bathroom, so we can dry our hair and keep our toothbrush charged. Guts in the kitchen faucet to stop a constant dripping.This was driving Gma nuts..... been doing this for months....We had to move a plant light upstairs for the little tomato,pepper,cabbage,cauliflower and broccoli plants. Not enough sunshine for them. Been having too many cloudy days. Actually March had better weather all around than April's weather. We have 1 bottle calf, it is a twin. Lost a set of twins born during the night in the wind and rain. She had them in the shelterbelt. They had some protection. Maybe they were a little early? Looks like the Mom cleaned their faces off. Gpa can't stay awake 24 hours a day. You are limited in the dark,what you can do. Many cows are testy when having their baby. So you leave them alone. When it dries up outside,we will be mowing for the 1st. time this growing season. Gpa did help Gma with some shovel work,when she just couldn't shovel anymore. there were 2 boxes of lilies to still plant. The grass grew while it was raining. So between inside and outside work...we don't know if, we are coming or going? We've had very little time to sneak to the puter and see what is going on. Just wanted to let our pals know that everyone here on the Ponderosa is doing o.k. Spring,summer and fall are just always Super Crazy.. Gma and Gpa decided to plant a full garden this year. So they have to start working the soil up. Put up a fence to keep animals out. Then plant it when we are past frost.....Not yet,too soon..... Gma made pancake and sausage brunch this morning. I took a nap while they ate...I don't like that kind of food. I did have chicken breast last night......It was delish! Gma said, she is still a little ragged out from the headaches,so guess what??? Gma is using a frozen pizza for supper with a salad....(They buy a few from grandson,Jaxcen when the wrestling boosters sell them)... A good thing I don't like Pizza,cuz I'm being told, I'm a little chunky! They should talk,since they are old too! They do not have the youthful waistlines anymore,either! I'll prattle with my pals when I can. More rain in the forecast, so we will just have to saved some time on the rainy days to catch up with everyone. I'd better hurry so I can check out diaries and new pictures. Besides, it's 3 p and I need a before supper nap... It was too windy and chilly even with sunshine for outside picnic. I enjoyed the turkey breast that was cooked in an oiless Big Easy out on the patio. Pawsome and it was delish.... Along with those grand kids comes tons of energy and noise...So this old kitty gal is glad to have her QUIET BACK! Sunny myself during the day. A stroll outside if not to chilly. Last night was 16 and only 40 today. The sun is shining but my old bones like it much warmer. Of course being Grandpa's kitty...I like it Quiet around here ...so that Gpa and I can curl up together in his glider rocker after supper and our meatz...take a BIG NAP! Last night there was no snuggle time...He had a township meeting..........I'm sure glad that he is only serving on one board now. I really don't like to share him with others. That's what is going on in my world....Forgot,Gpa is now having a few spring calves everyday.
