tearin it up

How was I supposed to know that the large bag in the kitchen was some new kitty litter mom got to try for us? Looked like a possible bag o food to 4am, I tore it up & got litter on the floor. But I am so darn cute, I didn't even get hollered at! All she said was "Tig do you really want to eat this for breakfast? then have at it." Well, course not mom ya poop in that...oh I know what else I wanted to tell you..The Dad uses this stuff called oil dry for when he does live fire trainings. It is pretty much like sand. So about a week or so ago he had left a 20lb bag on the screened porch, as he used some to soak up some vegetable oil that Nana accidentally spilled out there. The bag was kinda on it's side, so I did what anycat that had to go potty would do...I climbed into the bag & pooped! - mom saw me coming out of the bag with a smug look. I got my feet wiped off, just in case, but she was laughing so hard, and told The Dad "see that's what you get for leaving stuff around.." mrowr! go Tig go! literally!...

mom is registered!

Mom went to a TNR workshop Saturday. She is now a registered caretaker & our colony will be started with TNR as soon as she can borrow a few more traps. She bought 2 on sale real cheap at Harbor Freight, and then she can set 5 out to try & get the 5 that come by the most to start. The place they are taken to will spay/neuter, deworm, antibiotics, pain med, clean & treat any wounds, microship & 3 yr rabies. They ask for a donation of $30 per cat, but the lady said that with the # of kitties we have, she does not expect that much - anything we can do. mom will donate 1 trap back & keep 1 for any odd kitties that might come into the colony. For once, she said she feels in control of the situation. There is even a place that 2x a month will give some food to registered colony caretakers! So right now, we have 1 trap out there unset so they can get used to it, and then as soon as we get the other ones, it is trap day! Will keep you posted.

Mom says the Feliway worked wonders! or I just got used to Felix. I seemed more relaxed all around, which is good for my heart. I even let the rascal eat out of my bowl again. I have not decided to play with him yet, but mom is not worried any more. She said i seemed so frustrated & wound up, but I am chilling now. Thanks to all my friends for the DDp gifties & wishes. Mom had not checked on here for a few days because our human sister came in from Seattle, and well, mom wanted to spend every second with her. She went back today, so mom is sad. All in all, things are going ok. Take care my friends!

Mom says sorry it has taken a little while. Things have been so mad crazy round here then throw in a new kitten that is sick....well you know the drill. Anyways he is settling in pretty good. We all just got introduced. I go from "hey dude! what's up?" to "slap-get the heck out of my way" I am pretty agitated because of the stray males coming around to visit the girl-cats in the back yard. Mom is in contact with a group that is supposed to come help & trap - although they haven't called back yet. Mom got a Feliway plug to put in the kitchen, hopefully that will help me, cause she does not want me too upset. Plus he will be getting neutered as soon as the vet gives the ok,so that should help my agitation too. Talk soon! purrs

I know - I cannot beleive it has not been around so much, cause she has been kinda busy with a 4 legged tyke. There is alot to his back-story, which he will put on his page as soon as mom remembers where she put the camera cord, as she took pictures to post. Needless to say he is a very sick kitten. He had gotten such a bad uri that it went into pneumonia. His nosie is so clogged that he cannot even smell, so he wasn't able to eat. He was dehydrated and very underweight. The vet says he was rescued just in time. There really is alot more to it - how he got sick & everything, so I am sure he will want to share the news with you. He does not have a name yet, but he is black with a small white spot on his chest & very green eyes. So just keep him in your thoughts for healing purrs. He is doing much better already having subq fluids & 6 doses of clavamox, so we are sure he will be ok. But he is a baby of 3 months old, and well you know how moms get - they worry about us kits.....purrs my friends!

Mom is pretty fired up about Catster staying together. We have lost so many friends in one way or another it really hurts. We love it here & it is obvious that many of you do too. So this week, mom will be letting us three catch up with news, and perhaps a new picture or two. We are not going anywhere, and shall make our presence known. Presents? mom did you say presents? nip perhaps?
Smitty's eyes look much better. Mom gave him lysine powder every day, and it seems to have nipped it in the bud.. Mom did you say nip AGAIN???? ok, NIP BREAK..later pals!

It certainly seems like there has been so much loss here on Catster recently. Kitties having to leave for the Rainbow Bridge, and kitties just leaving Catster. I feel so sad - We have formed a kind of little family here, and it hurts to see them leave. Sometimes mom says she feels guilty posting how well we may be doing, because so many are hurting & ill. I wish I could wave my paw over those sick and heal them, and also to undo whatever made other kitties just up & leave here too. We heartily welcome all the newcomers. We hope for them to see the joys we found here. I just wish the joy had not been lost for those we do not see here anymore. We hope all our friends know that if we should miss a special day, that it is only because mom has been swamped with work and has not gotten here everyday. We purr for all kitties near & far...for those that need healing, for those that need help, and for those that just need a purr, as we all sometimes do. Hoping the sun shines on all and brings you healing. PURRS Tig

Awesome news my friends! I had my ultrasound yesterday, and it appears, that there is no changes, as a matter of fact, she says that the thickening in my heart ACTUALLY GOT BETTER! They cannot hear the murmur anymore either! She said it is not really common for a kitty with HCM to improve, but it can happen. So she told mom KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING! I could flip for joy! Mom says she always holds her breath until the test results are in.
I also want to thank all of you for the wonderful good wishes & presents on my birthday. I had a good day.

A happy mother's day to all of you wonderful mommas out there that love us & take care of us no matter what. I don't know how much money momma has spent keeping me healthy, but I am sure she sacrificed alot to do it, and I am a grateful boy to be here with her & as healthy as a kitty with HCM & FLUTD can be.
love my mom & love you all! purrs!
