Around 2AM this morning I went upstairs and woke Meomwy up. I was so happy she stayed up with me because I was so sick. My sisters Pretty Girl and Bastet did as well. It was the sickess I have ever been and tonight I finally was able to get enough strength to type this message to everyfur. For a few hours, I was sick to my stomach, had diarreah and wet on the carpet. Meowmy was so worried and stayed by me, cleaning up after I finally settled down and went to sleep.
Only one other time was I sick, not as bad, but nearly and I recovered quite quickly. That was the end of April this year. I was do for my annual vet check up, and Meowmy mentioned to the vet about my sickness. The vet decided to run tests but the only thing they found was that I had Hyper Thyroidism and gave me medication. Twice a day Meowmy has to rub the inside of my ear with this cream. It doesn't hurt, but I don't want Meowmy rubbing cream on the inside of my ear, so I make a big fuss.
Tomorrow morning I will be taking a trip to the vet to see what caused me to get sick. Meowmy and Dad are so worried about me. My sister Pretty Girl stayed with me while I have been recovering. By this I mean I have been hiding under one of the beds most of the day. All day she has been laying on top of the bed looking stern with her 'tortie' glare at anyone who enters the bedroom.
Meowmy is staying in the small bed tonight and she told me to get her up if I need her. With my voice as loud as any bagpipe, I most surely will.
Pretty Girl will let everyfur know what the vet says. She has decided to look after me whether I want her to or not.

Thursday
Since our Baby Bastet went to the vet yesterday and we found she had a bleeding condition, nothing has been the same around here. We have had a rough month, with Miss Kitty getting so sick, Meowmy falling and breaking a leg and hip and now Bastet.
Miss Kitty organized shifts at night where we came to check on Meowmy and check the doors, but with Bastet gone, everyone is too worried about both she and Meowmy to remain at their posts. I know this upsets Miss Kitty, but she has been gracious enough to let me and Pretty Girl stay with Meowmy on the bed at times during the night. Miss Kitty had set that up as being her job. She thinks if she lays close enough to Meowmy she can heal her and make her better.
We miss Meowmy and Bastet on the walker. Meowmy would walk around the house and Bastet made a game of chasing her or heading her off at one of the turns. She loved to chase her red boa when Meowmy attached it to the walker. We all miss watching that scene.
Last night I couldn't sleep, I paced all night; upstairs, downstairs, upstairs then back down. I finally settled down and slept awhile on the ottoman in the family room close to Meowmy's bed.
Pretty Girl came down several times, then the 3rd trip down she stayed with Meowmy on the bed for a few hours. She cried so much yesterday morning when Bastet left for the vet, she needed to spend time with Meowmy.
Today we did get some happiness. Miss Kitty was named C&D Cruise Line COTM for July. We are so proud of her. She is picking out a new gown. As she says, "One that suits my wild side." She is so happy that she has let Pretty Girl and I downstairs with Meowmy without arguing with us.
Meowmy hasn't heard from the vet about Bastet, but will let everyone know in Bastet's journal when she finds out something.

Early Monday morning we heard scraping across the foyer floor and I heard my Aunt Marian's voice say "let me get you to bed". Of course Bastet beat us all downstairs. She acted silly so I kept telling her calm down until we knew what was happening.
Next think I knew, Pretty Girl was telling me Meowmy was hurt and was going to have to stay for awhile in the bed that was taken downstairs. I went to talk to Meowmy and jumped on her bed. Bastet was trying to get Meowmy to play with her red boa and her birdie, which made sense only to a kitten.
I kept talking to Meowmy for several minutes then Pretty Girl came in the room and told me to follow her. Miss Kitty hadn't come home yet, she was coming home tomorrow. Pretty Girl told me that I needed to be quite so Meowmy could rest. And our job was to patrol the house at night in shifts.
Bastet would be sleeping with Meowmy, Miss Kitty when she came home would guard the family room door and it was our job to guard the rest of the house and be sure Meowmy was safe so she could heal.
Pretty Girl overheard That Meowmy had fallen the day after they arrived in Las Vegas and her right hip is pinned and she has a metal rod for a right tibia.
"ABOVE ALL," said Pretty Girl, "BE QUIET and DON'T WAKE MEOWMY!"
I checked on Meowmy several times during the night and Miss Kitty was at her station, Bastet was at hers and Pretty Girl and I were doing our jobs. Now I am so tired from night watch, I am due for a cat nap.

Saturday-May 30, 2009
We all woke up to Meowmy running upstairs from the basement. I met her at the top of the steps and saw Meowmy with the biggest cat carrier. I heard her tell Dad that Miss Kitty was going to the vet and it was an emergency. Bastet, Pretty Girl and I followed Meowmy as she gently picked up Miss Kitty and put her in the carrier.
Miss Kitty was in such pain she cried and scared Bastet so that she ran upstairs to the bedrooms with Pretty Girl following. As Meowmy carried Miss Kitty to the car and Dad started the engine, I ran to the hall and watched out one of the side windows. I knew something was wrong...seriously wrong.
When Meowmy and Dad came home, Miss Kitty wasn't with them. I got scared because Miss Kitty is the Queen cat. She is the Protectoress of our house. Without her...I don't want to think about that.
I heard Meowmy talking to the vet when he called. Pancreitis, is what they hoped for. That could be treated. The vet needed my sister to stay until Monday to get fluids into her, to get her fever down and start eating again.
Hopefully she can come home Monday. We miss her. We have all been very nervous all day. Even Pretty Girl disappeared in hiding somewhere for awhile.

Yesterday Meowmy didn't go to school. We all heard her say she was taking her son Marc to the doctor's office. So I hung out with Pretty Girl. She thinks herself to be the 'goody goody'. She is the shy quiet type and stays on Meowmy's good side because she never gets caught doing anything wrong. (Even though she does things Meowmy doesn't know about.)
After Meowmy came home, she took Bastet and Miss Kitty outside and were out for a long time. Before she went out, Meowmy opened the 2 windows over the kitchen sink. I love open windows and I love sitting in them.
Many times I sit in these same windows: (Meowmy doesn't know this). Anyway, I decided to do the same thing yesterday. Well, 'Goody Goody' Miss Pretty Girl tried to stop me, but I told her that Meowmy would never know.
Pretty Girl said, 'All Meowmy would have to do is look in the window and she would see you and you'd be in trouble.'
All I could see was the open window and knew I had to get up there and watch the birds, squirrels and whatever I could see.
I did it. I made the decision. And before I knew it, my sister was behind me telling me to get down. I tried to make her be quiet with a swish of my tail, but too late.
Meowmy was standing there. By rolling all over the counter top and talking to her innocently, I tried to convince her it wasn't me who jumped up there first. That it was Pretty Girl. But Meowmy wasn't convinced. She still fussed at us and we both were in trouble.
Next time I will wait until I know Meowmy is in school. That way I will not be caught in the act.

Meowmy was home this past week!!! My sisters and I were glad. She occupied Bastet's time. But I have to say dear Diary, I am getting used to her--at least a little.
Friday, for my birthday, Meowmy tried to spend time with me but I am a 'by myself kind of cat' and 'see you on my own terms'. She picked me up and tried to hold me, but I told her 'no' and jumped down. That afternoon, all 4 of us were in the kitchen visiting with Meowmy. That is a rare occasion. And...we weren't hissing at each other. Guess everyone wanted to celebrate with me. Meowmy gave me special birthday treats I had to share with my sisters and a toy mouse. She sang Happy Purrrthday to me while Bastet played with her 'Puffy Ball' rolling it around the floor like kittens do.
And...dear diary...get this..she actually brought the ball back to Meowmy. What do you think about that!!! Bastet isn't a dog. When Pretty Girl got into the act, I strolled over to Miss Kitty who was sitting by the railing eating her treats. We discussed the spectable Pretty Girl was making of herself at her age.
The next day, Bastet came to the basement family room. Being as it was the first time she was downstairs, I showed her where the box, the water and the food bowls were located. Even though I wasn't happy she was in 'My Territory,' I thought I had better be cordial. Meowmy was upstairs, and I know her, she was probably listening.
I showed her how to get up in one of the windows so she could look outside at the birds, the squirrels and Meowmy. I then took her to the door and showed her the way out.
That is where Meowmy found us; by the door. She immediately took Bastet upstairs, put her on the leash and took her outside. Yes, dear Diary, I was glad Meowmy was home for the week.

I am so glad Mommy is at school because I can write what happened last night. After we were all fed and before Mommy put Bastet to bed, I heard her calling me and Miss Kitty. We were quiet as two church mice because we didn't want to be caught doing what we were doing..holding a family meeting. Well, not quite the whole family. Pretty Girl wasn't invited to this one because she and Bastet are partners in crime. They are friends and Pretty Girl protects the newest thorn in our sides. Anyway..Miss Kitty and I were down in the basement family room talking about how we are going to get rid of the latest upstart-Bastet, when Mommy caught us both. We both ran upstairs with the plan the talk again when Mommy was away at school. Miss Kitty is now asleep and I can't disturb the Queen, so I'll get back to you Dear Journal to let you know what we decided.
