R.I.P. Ohio Lions, Tigers and Bears

Oooh, this is so sad. Ohio Lions, Tigers and Bears Rest in Peace, dear ones. Humankind has failed you. What the heck. This makes me so mad. Humans are supposed to look out for us and protect us. That's their job. They are the intelligent species. How was this man, who was a known animal abuser, allowed to have all these animals? It takes A LOT of time, money and special training to be able to keep exotic animals like these properly. Change the laws, gosh darnit. People shouldn't be able to order exotic animals on the internet like ordering a sweater.

On another subject: the diary comment function is fixed now. Thanks tech-cats for keeping us safe and keeping unintelligent people out of here. But I have decided that I want to approve every comment first before it goes live. So don't be surprised friends if you don't see your comment immediately. Thanks for your patience.

I think it's fixed! As for the animals in Ohio, it makes us so sad and so mad. You are absolutely right, why is a known animal abuser allowed to keep ANY animals, much less more than 50 exotic animals. We personally don't believe that anyone shoud be allowed to "own" exotic animals- they don't belong in cages in someone's backyard!

*quietly steps down from soapbox*

Rest in peace, Ohio animals.

*sigh* may i quote einstein - matches both subjects...

he said
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."

he was so right. if humans used! their brains they'd respect life in EVERY respect.

Ishtar, that's a good quote! Was the Ohio story on the news in Germany? I guess it is big news. Big sad news.

Right Lucy, exotic animals belong in the wild or in a responsible zoo. A Tiger is not a pet. In my opinion a snake is not a pet either *shudder*. You know we cats don't like snakes. I know there is some people who have them and treat them well. But they are far too easy to get and there are not enough regulations.

indeed, timo, we saw those sad pictures of shot felines and others. together with the quote of an officer saying that "while all sorts of wild animals are sold for everybody - intelligence is not..."
