Getting Better

Poppy is doing beautifully now as we come properly into the new year. She came to my home with me looking very thin as you may tell from her photo, I'm happy to say that she is filling out and developing a little pot belly :D.

At first she wasn't too keen on being held or touched much, she'd much rather come sit on the back of the couch near me instead. I pick her up regularly and carry her for a short while to get her used to it as I don't think her previous owner paid much attention to her and her sister. She is becoming more open with her affections, much happier to be carried about nowadays.

I just got to make sure that the treat tub is firmly shut as this little miss is always looking to eat something. Not used to there being no dog to nick her food now I think.

Greedy Guts

Poppy came to me a couple of weeks ago from a couple with a dog who claimed a allergy was causing them to give her and Toffee up. Due to various reason including the diorhea they had just before they came to me I believe this was just a excuse but they have a happy home now.

A little more skittish than her big sister Poppy tends to run away if she doesn't want you to be near just now, if she wants hugs then she will come up herself. Apart from laying near Toffee she absolutely loves food and will immediately purr as soon as she gets food/treats/kitten milk. I'm thinking as she was skinny when she came that the dog may have been snatching alot of the food put down for them or possibly because of the worms she had.

Unlike Toffee, Poppy got better with the antibiotics though sitll retaining her greedy status. I have to keep shutting her out of the kitchen so Toffee can eat at least some of her medicine food for upset tummies.
