Arrival Story:
After Pandora crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we were heart-broken. Her illness was so sudden. We looked for a new kitty at several shelters but none clicked. Then, when I stopped at the vet's office to pick up Pandora's urn, there was a beautiful black and white cat in the office with a sign - Free to good home. They said that he was very calm and laid back even around dogs, so I took him home!

Bio:
Oreo is not a talker so much as he chirps. I have never heard him actually meow growl or hiss. He is very easygoing. His background was as a stray. An elderly couple started feeding him but knew they could not keep him so they brought him to the vet. He has never shown any feral attitude. I think he is just grateful to be loved and cared for.

Oreo's random thoughts

Really? Whose idea was this?

I get that Sadie was a great dog - she was - and everyone was sorry when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Even I shed a kitty tear.

But did Andrew have to have another dog?

Okay - Rowdy belongs to Gary - so yeah, I guess he does need a dog of his own. Does it have to be this dog??

Gah - this puppy is driving me insane. Cujo - what a stupid name for a little dog. If that is not bad enough, now he thinks he has to live up to the "big-dog" name. Always wanting to play, always sticking his smashed up nose in my business....

Glad the gate in the hallway gives me half a house of safety.

Lesson learned

Being free was not all it was cracked up to be, and on a rainy night in December, I came home. I was tired of being cold and hungry. I felt terrible and I was scared all the time. I just wanted to be inside where it was warm and dry.

My pet parents were so happy to see me. Even Rowdy was happy. I just wanted to hide. They were very patient with me. They made sure I was ok health-wise, and then they gave me the time and space to regain my strength. I am grateful that they let me come home.

While my family was taking care of Sadie in her final days, I made my escape! Now I am free and outside again! I feel badly that my human family misses me, and that Rowdy is alone, but not badly enough to come home.
